Hear from the first-round pick after his first couple of practices as a Raider
The Las Vegas Raiders’ first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, tight end Brock Bowers from Georgia, has already been a busy man in the NFL. Bowers signed his first contract on Thursday and had his first couple of professional practices this weekend as the Raiders held rookie minicamp on Friday and Saturday.
Bowers also spoke to the media after practice and shared some thoughts on minicamp and his first impressions of the organization and his new teammates.
On his impression of his new teammates and...
Returning Raider Nation’s questions for the week
We’re a couple of weeks removed from the 2024 NFL Draft and the Las Vegas Raiders swiftly managed to sign six of their eight picks to begin rookie minicamp. The Raiders have also signed a few free agents recently, however, there are still options out there to help fill the remaining holes on the roster.
Question: What Raiders position(s) are still needed to be built upon before this upcoming season begins?
Answer: I still think the team could use another veteran starting cornerback option and there are a few free agents left that...
4th-year veteran must maintain level of play, while 2nd-year defender must make sophomore leap
I don’t believe I’m going out on a limb when I say Maxx Crosby is the face of the Las Vegas Raiders franchise. Head coach Antonio Pierce has said repeatedly he wants his football team to match the “Maxx Crosby energy”.
And for good reason.
A relentless non-stop pass rusher, Crosby sets the tone for the Silver & Black. The 26-year-old edge rush is a phenomenal talent since arriving as a fourth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft producing 52 sacks thus far — 14.5 in...
Offensive lineman expressed his excitement and toughness at rookie mini-camp
The Las Vegas Raiders started their rookie mini-camp on Friday, with all eyes on the Raiders' new draft picks. It was the first time the young draftees were seen on the practice field and how they moved in action.
One of the draft picks that has Raider Nation excited is Jackson Powers-Johnson. He is a Remington award winner at center last season with the Oregon Ducks and will play guard for the Raiders in 2024. Powers-Johnson brings toughness and tenacity to the offensive line.
The former Oregon Duck grew up...
What’s going on with the current crop of available corners?
The Las Vegas Raiders have made a few post-NFL Draft free agency signings recently but, surprisingly, none have been cornerbacks. Meanwhile, the Raiders could use another veteran starting-caliber corner and many fans have been asking about Stephon Gilmore, Steven Nelson, Adoree’ Jackson and Xavien Howard recently.
So, what gives with these guys? Below is a look at a few updates on Gilmore’s, Nelson’s, Jackson’s and Howard’s status whether that’s signing with the Raiders or another club.
Outside of people playing matchmaker, there hasn’t been any news connecting...
We have an early leader in quarterback battle
The ball is literally in Aidan O’Connell’s hands.
It is up to the Las Vegas Raiders’ second-year quarterback to keep it there.
Speaking prior to the Raiders’ rookie minicamp, coach Antonio Pierce told reporters that O’Connell has “earned” the right to take the first snaps at the team’s OTAs and minicamps in the battle with newly signed free-agent Gardner Minshew.
Pierce’s decision is based on O’Connell being the Raiders’ starter for 10 games last season. So, it may be a technical reason why O’Connell is leading the battle with Minshew, but it...
Late-round picks Dylan Laube, M.J. Devonshire can elevate competition
Tom McMahon arrived as the new special teams boss in the desert with two elite specialists in Daniel Carlson and AJ Cole III. The place kicker and punter, respectively, are one of the top producers at their positions giving McMahon a leg up as coordinator for the Las Vegas Raiders.
But there remains a special team problem area for the Silver & Black: Return game.
While the NFL has diminished — at least severely dampened — the kickoff return aspect of the game due to rule changes for player safety, field...
Fans have expectations for Oregon guard
We’re still in draft-chatter mode in our Las Vegas Raiders Tuesday Community Questions.
This week, we asked our community members what 2024 Raiders’ draft pick will make the biggest immediate impact this upcoming season.
To recap, here are the Raiders’ 8-player 2024 draft class:
It’s a solid class...

Astute NFL analyst thinks a lot of Las Vegas rookie cornerback
For the third straight year, excellent ESPN NFL analyst Louis Riddick recently has listed several non-early draft picks who he thinks can become solid NFL players.
It’s a list to pay attention to because Riddick, a former NFL safety who played for the Raiders and who worked in NFL front offices, knows his stuff.
So, it’s worth noting that Las Vegas Raiders’ draft pick made Riddick’s 2024 rookie list. Good for you, Decamerion Richardson, who was a fourth-round pick from Mississippi State. Here is Riddick’s complete 2024 list:
Richardson...

Team has agree to terms with six of eight draftees
The Las Vegas Raiders announced they have signed first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, tight end Brock Bowers, and five of the team’s other draft picks.
Bowers’ deal is reportedly a four-year contract for $18.1 million with a $10 million signing bonus and the customary fifth-year option available for all first-round picks, according to NFL Insider Ari Meirov. The Georgia product was a surprise pick on Day 1 of the draft but is expected to play a major role in Las Vegas’ offense this fall.
The Raiders also announced...
