The NFL draft and the heavy-lifting period of free-agency is over and the Las Vegas Raiders have done a lot of work as they have begun their rebuild in earnest.

Still, like every team, Las Vegas still has some holes to fill and some need areas. So, Raiders’ general manager John Spytek still has some work to do.

We often talk about complimentary football and that’s something that was lacking for the Las Vegas Raiders’ in 2025.

Yes, many things went wrong last season and the lack of complimentary football was one of them.

The Las Vegas Raiders seemingly got the biggest steal of the 2026 NFL draft, adding former Tennessee cornerback Jermod McCoy to the roster at the top of the fourth round. The first-round talent was expected to come off the board much earlier than he did, sliding due to concerns over the long-term health of his knee after missing the entire 2025 season with a torn ACL.

Once Klint Kubiak became the Las Vegas Raiders head coach and assembled his staff, general manager John Spytek went to work assembling a roster to put the new lead man in the best possible position to succeed.

Taking over a football team that finished 3-14 the prior year under a veteran head coach that was one-and-done, rebuild is an apt term for Kubiak even if the organization refuses to term it as such. Retooling or reloading is the more preferred term, but there’s no hiding the amount of work required by Spytek and Kubiak to right the ship.
