Gonzalez was listed as a limited participant in Thursday’s practice with a hamstring injury that sidelined him for the first three games of the season. However, the designation doesn’t appear to indicate a significant setback that could jeopardize the star cornerback’s status for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.

Patriots cornerbacks coach Justin Hamilton said Thursday, per ESPN’s Mike Reiss, that the team planned for Gonzalez to work away from the team during individual and special teams drills.

The reigning All-Pro missed the first four games of the regular season due to a hamstring injury stemming from the first padded practice of training camp. During his second start back, however, he stayed in to play every defensive snap.
