New England Patriots star receiver Stefon Diggs sent a warning to the team ahead of their Week 6 matchup against the New Orleans Saints.
Diggs and the Patriots are coming off a 23-20 thrilling win over division rival Buffalo Bills in Week 5 on the road. Heading into Week 6, New England is a 3.5-point favorite on the road against the Saints.
Although the Bills are a better team than the Saints, Diggs isn’t so sure, as he believes New Orleans could be a bigger test than Buffalo.
“Super important we turn the page, considering the New Orleans Saints is a really good football team,” Diggs said to reporters in the locker room on Oct. 8. “I know their record might not show it but they’re very skillful up front and in the back end. To be honest, it might be a bigger test than last week, just as far as having success and being able to replicate that process or do it all over again and work equally as hard and attention to detail and focus.
“This opponent, I know their record does not say it but they’re a good football team, they’ve been in one scores game plenty of times and I don’t expect it to be no different,” Diggs added. “We have to go in there with the right mindset.”
Diggs believes New England can’t overlook the Saints due to their record. The star receiver knows this will be a tough, competitive team, and the Patriots have to be firing on all cylinders to get the win.
The Saints won their first game of the season in Week 5 with a 26-14 home win over the New York Giants. New England, meanwhile, is 3-2 and in second place in the AFC East after its upset win over the Bills.
