The New York Giants lost to the Carolina Panthers, 20-17, on Sunday morning in Munich, Germany. It was their first international loss and extended their active losing streak to five games.
The five-game losing streak is tied for the longest current streak in the NFL (Las Vegas Raiders). However, there was a silver lining in Sunday’s loss, which many believe was considered the “tank bowl” in Munich.
The Giants are currently slated to select second overall in the 2025 NFL draft, per Tankathon, jumping five spots since holding the seventh overall pick ahead of Week 10.
Of course, with half...
Your open thread for Monday night
We have a battle between New West Coast teams this week as The Los Angeles Rams face the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football.
It’s been most of a decade since Sean McVay kicked off something of a revolution in how the NFL plays offense.
Kyle Shanahan was hot on McVay’s heels in terms of offensive innovation, and with him came Mike McDaniel. McDaniel was hired by the Dolphins in 2022 and brought the Shanahan take on the new West Coast philosophy with him to Miami. Once there, McDaniel cranked the speed of the...
Wading into the free agent pool for roster help
Welcome to the Fantasy Football Waiver Wire for Week 11! A not-so-funny thing is happening over the next couple of weeks. It’s the push for the fantasy playoffs, and at the same time, half of the teams in the league still haven’t had their Bye. Four teams are on Bye this week, then six in Week 12, then everyone plays on Thanksgiving weekend, and then the final six have Byes in Week 14, which for many is the final week before the fantasy playoffs start. Thanks, Rog. Throw in the constant...
Daboll says Giants will “evaluate everything” during bye week
Brian Daboll did not announce a change at quarterback for the New York Giants on Monday. He did, though, open the door to benching starter Daniel Jones when the team returns from its by week to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, Nov. 24 at MetLife Stadium.
“We’re going to spend a lot of time here watching our tape and evaluating things and we’ll do that as a coaching staff over the next week here,” Daboll said on Monday.
When asked that question in previous weeks, Daboll has always unequivocally...
A few bright lights in an otherwise dismal performance
We’re now into the looking-toward-2025 stage of the New York Giants’ 2024 season. Let’s see which players are making a case to stick around and which are likely to be elsewhere next year after the Giants’ embarrassing 20-17 overtime loss to the Carolina Panthers.
Three weeks ago New York Giants co-owner John Mara told reporters that he still had confidence in general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll.
“Obviously, we’re all very disappointed with where we are right now,” Mara said. “But I’m gonna say one thing: we are not making any changes this season. And I do not anticipate making any changes in the offseason, either.”
The Giants were 2-5 at the time and the season was somewhat salvageable. Fast forward three weeks and three more losses later and one has to wonder if Mara is rethinking his endorsement.
His 2-8...
The New York Giants are going to sink or swim with starting quarterback Daniel Jones it seems.
Sink is more like it.
After losing to the worst defense in the NFL in the Carolina Panthers in Munich on Sunday, head coach Brian Daboll was still not convinced that Jones was his biggest hurdle to success.
“Obviously, we’re not where we want to be,” Daboll told reporters after the game. “We’ll evaluate things in the bye week, do the things we need to do. We’ll practice a couple days next week and evaluate everything.”
After Jones stunk up the field in...
This morning, there is no silver lining for New York Giants rookie running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. to search for.
Yes, Tracy continued his breakout season with a 103-yard rushing performance in front of the whole world on Sunday in Munich gaining 5.7 yards per carry. But it was his final touch that will stick with both him and Giant fans for quite some time.
Tracy lost a fumble on the Giants’ own 23-yard line in overtime, leading to the Panthers’ winning field goal. All of the good he did in the game suddenly seemed to not matter.
Tracy was...

After refusing pay cut, McCloud lands with a contender
Refusing to take a pay cut cost Nick McCloud his job with the New York Giants last week. It appears, though, to have helped him land in a better situation.
McCloud has signed with the San Francisco 49ers to become part of their practice squad, per Dan Duggan.
The 49ers, of course, represented the NFC in the Super Bowl last season, losing to the Kansas City Chiefs. This year, the 49ers are 5-4, fighting for the NFC West title and a playoff berth.
The Giants, of course, lost their fifth straight...
