The New York Giants finally placed outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux on season-ending Injured Reserve on Saturday. Thibodeaux has been out since Week 10, missing the last four games with a shoulder injury.

Thibodeaux will finish his fourth NFL season with 2.5 sacks in 10 games.

To take Thibodeaux’s place on the 53-man roster, the Giants activated cornerback Art Green from IR. Green played in eight games for the Giants before being placed on IR with a hamstring injury.

The Giants also elevated two players from the practice squad. Placekicker Ben Sauls, a rookie from Pittsburgh, will make his NFL debut against the Minnesota Vikings. Second-year defensive tackle Elijah Chatman will be elevated for the third time this season.

Thibodeaux had been hoping to return to action this season, even with just three games left in a 2-12 season. Interim coach Mike Kafka had even indicated there was a belief that he could. That possibility, though, has now ended.
