NY Giants rejected trio of picks to select CB Colton Hood at No. 37

The New York Giants “had a few options” to move back from No. 37 in the 2026 NFL Draft, and were willing to move down had Tennessee cornerback Colton Hood not been available to them, GM Joe Schoen said in Part 2 of the ‘Giants Life’ draft video on the team’s website.

According to Schoen’s discussion with head coach John Harbaugh, the Giants had offers to move back from the Cincinnati Bengals (pick No. 41) and New Orleans Saints (pick No. 42) and could have gotten two fourth-round picks and a fifth-round pick to drop a few spots in the...

Giants hoping to see lots of celebrations from rookie CB Colton Hood

New York Giants rookie cornerback Colton Hood has been surprised by the fact that his “hood” celebration after making a nice defensive play has become a thing that people clamor to see.

“It’s really cool. I didn’t expect it to get this big,” Hood said after Saturday’s rookie minicamp practice. “I’ve seen other players from different teams use it, but it really isn’t the same because their last name is not Hood.

“It’s been really cool just to see it pick up like that. I’m going to keep doing it the rest of my career.”

When Hood picked off a...

Giants’ assistant GM Brandon Brown on ‘building the bully’ John Harbaugh wants

The best thing about annual post-NFL Draft chats with New York Giants assistant general manager Brandon Brown is Brown’s willingness to go into depth on how and why the team makes certain decisions. From individual player decisions to adjusting to working with coach John Harbaugh, Brown did not disappoint when he met with the media on Saturday at the team’s rookie minicamp.

‘Mission over men’

Brown said the Giants have been a “unified operation” since Harbaugh became head coach.

“It’s been really a great environment to be a part of,” Brown said. “When I say unified operation, Coach said...

NY Giants guard Sisi Mauigoa ‘Can’t wait to move people’

The New York Giants were ecstatic to land Miami tackle Francis Mauigoa 10th overall in the 2026 NFL draft.

The Giants wanted the big mauler to add size and physicality to their offensive line. They got their wish, and Mauigoa has already come in with the mentality of a leader.

“I’m going to work my butt off to the standard,” he said, “and hopefully uplift that standard.”

Mauigoa certainly seems to share a mentality with right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor.

“He’s a cool guy,” Mauigoa said. “We’re excited about each other. Can’t wait to move people.”

The two will be working...

Zvada, from Michigan, joins Ben Sauls and seven-year veteran Jason Sanders as kickers on the 90-man roster. Saults kicked for the Giants for the final three games of 2025. Sanders was with the Miami Dolphins for seven seasons, but missed last year with a hip injury.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh said Saturday that while he has had “three or four” conversations with Odell Beckham Jr. over the past week, no deal between the team and the Giants’ 2014 first-round draft pick is imminent.

“The goal for right now is for him to train and get as ready as he can be,” Harbaugh said. “Then we’ll see where we’re at at that time.”

Beckham, 33, did not play in the NFL last season. In 2024, Beckham caught just nine passes in nine games with the Miami Dolphins.

New York Giants mailbag: Uniforms, salary cap, Tae Banks, Darius Slayton

*Joseph Morris asks: One of the things I find frustrating as a fan is a cap system that makes it difficult to keep drafted players. A team drafts a player, nurtures and develops him, and then is forced to let him go because of money and cap concerns. As a fan I find that frustrating. One of my favorite players was Robinson and he was let go because of money. Constantly losing drafted players cause unnecessary roster churn and might prevent some teams from getting over the hump. What do you think of a league incentive to retain homegrown players?...
