BTB Wednesday Discussion: Where does Tyron Smith rank for you in all time Dallas Cowboys linemen?

Where do you rank Tyron Smith in terms of all time Dallas Cowboys offensive linemen?

It was announced on Tuesday that Tyron Smith would be signing a one-day contract with the Dallas Cowboys and holding a press conference today (Wednesday for the tardy readers) to announce his retirement from the NFL. 14 years flew by, didn’t they.

It is always sobering when a franchise great calls it a career. Amazingly, this is the second time this offseason that we are dealing with this as Cowboys fans and we are only at mid-April.

Zack Martin was the first domino to fall...

Cowboys need to find gems late in the 6th round

The Dallas Cowboys will have two picks in the sixth round of the NFL Draft next week. That’s the good news.

The bad news is that both picks fall in the bottom third of the round.

With as many needs this roster has to fill, it becomes more important than ever for the Cowboys to hit on both of these picks.

Last week I mapped out how my three picks would play out for the Cowboys in the first three rounds. Cody Warren has posted his mock of the Cowboys’ draft.

The last two days we’ve looked at two different...

This 2025 NFL Draft scenario might give Cowboys Nation a heart attack

This 2025 NFL Draft scenario might give Cowboys Nation a heart attack

The Dallas Cowboys are no strangers to bold moves in the NFL Draft, and in 2025, they may have an opportunity to do something unprecedented: select three players from the same college in the first three rounds.

Today marks the first installment of a 2025 NFL Draft series in which I mock players to the Cowboys in the first three rounds who all go to the same college.

I was selective with my choices. The only rule is that each player must fill a position of need or upgrade a current position.

With a little strategy and the right board...

2 'selectively aggressive' moves Cowboys can make to instantly impact 2025 roster

2 'selectively aggressive' moves Cowboys can make to instantly impact 2025 roster

The Cowboys still have the opportunity to add some quality starters before the NFL Draft.

The Dallas Cowboys were very active once free agency kicked off in March. They've signed more than 10 guys. Although they didn't make any major moves, they did make a few that would have an instant impact, like edge rusher Dante Fowler Jr. and linebacker Jack Sanborn, who will likely earn a contributing role.

With that being said, Dallas still has holes on their roster that can be addressed before the NFL draft and allow them to have some flexibility in their strategy. Fortunately, there...

Why it shouldn’t matter that Micah Parsons reported for voluntary workouts

Why it shouldn’t matter that Micah Parsons reported for voluntary workouts

Micah Parsons showing up to voluntary workouts is nice, but it should not have been a requirement.

The Dallas Cowboys began voluntary workouts on Monday. It marked the first football-ish activity to happen for the team since the organization hired Brian Schottenheimer to be their head coach. Getting off to a promising start is certainly what everybody wants, but setting Schottenheimer up for as much success as possible is ideal.

This idea is why the would-be status of Micah Parsons was of high interest as Monday approached. Parsons and the Cowboys have been in the middle of contract extension talks...

Recent tragedies highlight need for changes in both the NFL, NCAA

Near the end of the 2024 college football season, LSU receiver Kyren Lacy was a potential first-round pick in next week’s draft.

That all changed in mid-December on a road in Louisiana. Lacy was allegedly driving recklessly, speeding and passing in a no-passing zone that morning.

An oncoming car swerved to avoid hitting Lacy’s car.

That vehicle could not avoid a head-on collision with the car Lacy was passing.

Lacy did not stop or call 911. Herman Hall, a passenger in the car Lacy passed, died at the hospital from his injuries.

Lacy would declare for the draft two days...
