Grades for Cowboys in hard fought win over Buccaneers

Grades for Cowboys in hard fought win over Buccaneers

Sunday was a near perfect game for the Dallas Cowboys.

The Dallas Cowboys are back in the win column and just one more victory away from reaching .500 on the year. They pulled out a gutsy win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers despite being eliminated from the playoffs earlier in the day, and the spirited performance was encouraging, to say the least. Let’s hand out some grades.

Quarterback

This may have been Cooper Rush’s best game ever. The Cowboys knew they’d need to throw the ball more against an elite run defense, and Rush delivered in spades. He hit...

Cowboys rumor: NFL insider believes Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy ‘will be safe’ for 2025

Reports continue to swirl that Mike McCarthy will be safe for 2025.

There are two games remaining in the Dallas Cowboys season. With the team formally eliminated from playoff contention, we know that we are about a batch of milk’s time away from seeing them make some decisions relative to 2025 and beyond.

When the offseason hits the Cowboys will have several things to work on. Extensions for Micah Parsons and DaRon Bland would be great to see early on, and it goes without saying that seeing them be active in free agency when it begins would be a breath...

After further review: Cowboys coaches put on a clinic in 26-24 win over the Buccaneers

Sunday night was really impressive for the Dallas Cowboys.

The Dallas Cowboys put a damper on the playoff hopes of Tampa Bay by beating them 26-24 in a Sunday night thriller. It was satisfying seeing so much good football from a team that has endured so much this season. Despite several All-Pros out of action for the Cowboys, they played one of their better games of the season. They are one Amani Oruwariye muffed block punt away from riding a five-game winning streak. That’s not too shabby.

There are no goalposts to move in this one. The Bucs are a...

Cowboys Reacts Survey: Dallas gives the gift of wins, finally

Are you feeling any better about the Cowboys franchise?

Once it became the holiday season, the Dallas Cowboys got in the the gift-giving mood. They decided to present their fans with wins, as in four out of their last five games. It could have been five out of five if not for their pesky botched punt block, a giant piece of coal in our stockings.

While it has been enjoyable winning again, the team started their run just a little too late. They were looking for a Christmas miracle, but that dream came to end on Sunday when they were...

2025 Cowboys offseason: Dallas faces a two-player dilemma

2025 Cowboys offseason: Dallas faces a two-player dilemma

It’s the season of giving, but as we look toward the end of the 2024 season, it’s important to remember that the Cowboys’ offseason plans won’t give fans much to unwrap. Stephen Jones has already admitted this fact.

We saw this happen last free agency, as Dallas delayed giving out extensions, costing themselves the cap space to pursue players.

Make no mistake about it: the Cowboys could clear up a ton of cap space very easily, but they won’t do it because they aren’t a top-notch front office, and the moves they would have to make would take some effort....

Cowboys vs. Buccaneers: The good, the bad, and the ugly from Week 16

There was so much good on Sunday night from the Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys pulled off an impressive upset Sunday night in Week 16 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Despite knowing they had been officially eliminated from the playoffs, they still chose to play to win and accomplished their goal in a somewhat surprising and impressive manner.

This is the second week in a row the Cowboys were considered the underdog and the second consecutive time they beat the odds. It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows though. There was plenty of positives and negatives to take place in this Week...

Final 2 games could determine these Cowboys’ future

Final 2 games could determine these Cowboys’ future

As the Dallas Cowboys season grows closer to the end, they have been playing hard for Mike McCarthy who I think has earned his way to return as the head coach, like it or not, and trust me, about three weeks ago, I did not want him back and still really don’t.

With that said, the final two games against the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders are going to help and hurt some current players on the Cowboys roster, they can either earn themselves a return to the team for the 2025 season, or fall flat to the cut list....

5 plays that led Cowboys to victory over Buccaneers

5 plays that led Cowboys to victory over Buccaneers

Sunday night was intense.

The Cowboys did it again, notching their fourth win in five games despite learning they had been eliminated from the playoffs earlier that day. They played a physical, gritty game against a Buccaneers team that entered on a four-game winning streak.

This one came down right to the end, and there was a long list of big plays all throughout the game. But these five plays, in retrospect, seem to have been the biggest ones.

The Cowboys got the ball to start the game and they moved down the...

These NFC East teams played Santa three days early

These NFC East teams played Santa three days early

Only in the NFC East can a team’s defense get five takeaways and still lose the game. Hey Philadelphia, do you want to talk about it?

The Washington Commanders kept their hopes for an NFC East title alive with a crazy comeback win over the Eagles on Sunday.

Philadelphia not only had their 10-game win streak snapped, they also may have lost their chance for the top seed in the NFC Playoffs.

The Eagles also have some injury issues to deal with. That isn’t how you want to head into the playoffs.

Washington’s win also knocked out the Dallas Cowboys...

Cowboys showed grit last night despite being eliminated from playoffs - Shane Taylor, Inside The Star

The Cowboys, playing for pride, were the better team most of the night against an opponent in the playoff picture.

If the Cowboys decide to extend McCarthy, it won’t be a popular decision.

The Cowboys fanbase is reactionary and has wanted McCarthy out after every playoff disappointment. Retaining him because of a good finish after the Cowboys’ playoff hopes were practically finished will get a lot of criticism, yet here we are,...

Cowboys day after thoughts following Buccaneers win: It is okay to be happy about wins

Cowboys day after thoughts following Buccaneers win: It is okay to be happy about wins

The Dallas Cowboys won on Sunday night and it is okay to be happy about that!

Sunday afternoon was interesting for the Dallas Cowboys. On one hand, the team was eliminated from playoff contention in a formal sense. While that was just about inevitable, it is still never fun for it to be finalized.

Across the spectrum, the Cincinnati Bengals, Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins all won. These specific victories set the Cowboys up to improve their draft position by a handful of spots.

But then the Dallas Cowboys had the gall to go out and win their game against...
