Should the Colts trade Jonathan Taylor?

Should the Colts trade Jonathan Taylor?

OK. Things at this point are getting a little uncomfortable. One would think that the Indianapolis Colts had learned their lesson when it comes to Jonathan Taylor after that disastrous offseason three years ago, but it looks like we are headed for a rinse and repeat cycle. The rumor mill is picking up and speculation is running wild about what the Colts will do with Taylor. Trade destinations are being proposed and perceived compensation put into the ether. Could the Colts really make such a move?

In short, why not? Everyone is expendable. If the Colts are willing to move...

Colts Reacts Survey Results

The Indianapolis Colts fans have spoken again, and with team training camp rapidly approaching in late July (where did the month of June exactly go?), we asked which positional battle they were most looking forward to watching come the last hurrah at Grand Park:

36% of Colts fans were interested in watching the primary backup quarterback (i.e., QB2 battle) unfold between rising 4th-year quarterback Anthony Richardson and 2nd-year quarterback Riley Leonard.

While both players have so far been splitting first-team reps in starting quarterback Daniel Jones’s ongoing absence through organized team activities and veteran mandatory minicamp earlier this month, it’s...

Which Colts players belong on NFL Network’s Top 100 list?

NFL Network’s Top 100 list is always part respect, part reputation and part recent production. It is not perfect, but because the list is voted on by players, it gives a decent sense of who is viewed as a top-tier player around the league. Quenton Nelson has already made the 2026 list at No. 99, giving the Colts at least one representative.

The question now is whether anyone else on the roster deserves to join him.

Already made it

Quenton Nelson

Nelson already being on the list makes sense.

He may not be ranked as high as...

NFL Insider believes Colts’ Lou Anarumo could have best safety duo since last Super Bowl run

According to SI.com’s Albert Breer, Indianapolis Colts veteran defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo could have his best starting safety duo since his former 2021 Cincinnati Bengals defense made a surprising Super Bowl appearance:

Specifically, that AFC Championship title season, Anarumo’s 17th ranked defense got hot in their deep playoff run, as they were anchored by the pairing of starting safeties Pro Bowler Jessie Bates III and Von Bell in the backend of their much improved secondary. However, the Bengals pass coverage only allowed opposing quarterbacks to complete a league-low 58.9% completion rate all of that impressive defensive campaign.

The Bengals defense...

Did Colts’ Warren hit the rookie wall or was he a victim of circumstances?

Did Colts’ Warren hit the rookie wall or was he a victim of circumstances?

Tyler Warren was just what the doctor ordered. The Indianapolis Colts had an incredible deficiency at the tight end position and he single-handedly lifted the entire unit. He showed what a unique talent he is and why the Colts were lucky to get him in the draft. His skill set is undeniable, and his future appears incredibly bright. His rookie year wasn’t without ups and downs, however, and when looking at his stats, it begs the question, did Warren run out of gas or was his second half a product of circumstances?

Over the first half of the season, Warren...

Colts What If: What if Hank Baskett recovered the onside kick?

This six-part Colts What If series looks back at some of the biggest turning points in franchise history, from the Peyton Manning draft decision to playoff heartbreak, quarterback pivots and coaching chaos, while revisiting what happened, what could have changed, and how different the Colts might look if one major moment had gone the other way.

For Part 5, we go back to Super Bowl XLIV and one of the most famous special teams plays in NFL history.

The Colts led the New Orleans Saints 10-6 at halftime. They had Peyton Manning, a four-point lead, and a chance to open...

CBS Sports speculates that Colts’ star could be ‘one of five players to force trade’

CBS Sports speculates that Colts’ star could be ‘one of five players to force trade’

According to CBS Sports’ Garrett Podell, Indianapolis Colts star running back Jonathan Taylor is one of its five hypothetical NFL star candidates, who could force a trade in ‘Giannis like fashion’:

Colts RB Jonathan Taylor

Only one running back has been more productive in the 2020s than Jonathan Taylor, and that’s Derrick Henry. Taylor’s 7,598 career rushing yards and 69 career rushing touchdowns in the span of his six-season NFL career are the second-most in the league behind Henry’s totals of 9,185 yards rushing and 84 rushing touchdowns. However, that gap purely comes down to workload:...

Contractually speaking, should Mahomes and Jones be this close?

Contractually speaking, should Mahomes and Jones be this close?

Patrick Mahomes signed a historic deal earlier this month making him the first half-billionaire quarterback. Hearing he is the first player to reach that level isn’t very surprising. A restructuring comes into play in 2026, and then the bigger money takes over in 2027, starting at $64 million. Like I said, that makes sense. Daniel Jones also got a very handsome contract from the Indianapolis Colts this offseason. There is more to the story, but should the money for Jones and Mahomes be as close as it is?

Look, I’m not going to pretend to be the contract guy, so...

ESPN’s Bill Barnwell ranks Colts ‘playmaking core’ slightly better than league average

ESPN’s Bill Barnwell ranks Colts ‘playmaking core’ slightly better than league average

According to ESPN’s Bill Barnwell, the Indianapolis Colts’ playmaking core; specifically, their top running back, wide receiver, and tight end collectively rank as slightly above league average–coming in at #14 overall:

14. Indianapolis Colts

2025 rank: 16 | 2024 rank: 22

Even after trading Michael Pittman Jr., the Colts sport above-average or better contributors at all three spots we’re considering here. Their playmakers all looked much better in 2025 with better quarterback play, but none made a bigger leap than Alec Pierce, who finally saw steady deep-ball opportunities throughout the season. Pierce averaged 2.2 yards...

Based on the backup, who can the Colts least afford see miss playing time?

Based on the backup, who can the Colts least afford see miss playing time?

I’d like to start by saying that no team is 44 players deep. Any team that loses a starter at any position, runs the risk of seeing a unit derailed. “Next man up” is not just what you hear from the Colts, it is what each team preaches. Also, no team is going to finish the season with the same 22 starters that they begin the season with. What you hope is that in the unfortunate event that you do lose a player, you lose it where you have good depth, or at a position that can be minimized a...

Colts training camp battle early preview: Wide Receiver

Colts training camp battle early preview: Wide Receiver

This offseason has marked a stark contrast to years past, because there are a number of starting positions up for grabs regarding the Indianapolis Colts–whereas typically, there’s usually only been one or two under general manager Chris Ballard, who’s admittedly wanted more open competition throughout his entire roster.

The Colts didn’t make a ton of external noise this offseason, as their biggest moves were re-signing both starting quarterback Daniel Jones and lead wide receiver Alec Pierce to lucrative multi-year deals, as well as trading a pair of longtime veteran pillars to other NFL teams: Michael Pittman Jr. (Pittsburgh Steelers) and...
