Thursday’s injury report dropped for the Chargers and it looks like more of the same from what we saw on Wednesday.
Once again, left tackle Joe Alt (ankle) was a DNP while the team still mulls over whether or not he’s a candidate for IR. Alt and return man Derius Davis (knee) were both on the sideline yet again as the team’s only two DNPs.
After sitting out Wednesday for a veteran’s day off, wideout Keenan Allen was back on the field in full.
Right guard Mekhi Becton (concussion), tight end Will Dissly (knee), safety Derwin James (glute), fullback/tight end...
The Chargers built their current interior defensive line by signing low-cost free agents and re-signing the cheaper Tart over retaining Poona Ford. Through the first month of the season, the group is playing admirably, especially rookie Jamaree Caldwell who is pushing Tart for the team’s top interior defender.
However, that plan is nothing that Joe Hortiz and JIm Harbaugh want to rely on in the longterm. The Chargers should look to upgrade that position in next year’s draft and there’s luckily more than a few notable names for them to keep an eye one.
One such name is Iowa State’s...
On Thursday afternoon, the Chargers brought back a familiar face in offensive lineman Sam Mustipher. The former Notre Dame lineman spent most of the 2024 season with the Chargers after starting his career with the Chicago Bears. After spending four years there, he signed with the Ravens in 2023 and has since had stints with the Broncos, Bolts, and Titans.
Mustipher can help fill multiple roles up front with the Chargers as he has experience at both guard sports and at center. That versatility is likely what helped him land back with a team needing reinforcements up front while both...

On Wednesday afternoon, the Chargers announced a pair of roster transactions regarding offensive linemen.
First, the Chargers signed offensive tackle Foster Sarell to the active roster off the practice squad. Sarell has spent several years with the Chargers and most recently spent the 2025 offseason with the Commanders before re-signing with the Bolts before the regular season began.
To fill Sarell’s spot on the practice squad, the Chargers signed veteran offensive lineman Bobby Hart.
Hart played collegiately at Florida State before being selected by the New York Giants in the seventh round of the 2015 draft. He has started 67-of-98...
The Chargers have dropped their first injury report of Week Five and there’s luckily few surprises, if at all, to be had.
Left tackle Joe Alt unsurprisingly was a non-participant on Wednesday with his ankle injury he sustained early on against the Giants. Alt told reporters that he has not been given a timeline on his return and Jim Harbaugh is still unsure on whether or not Alt will be placed on IR.
Joining Alt as DNP was wide receiver Keenan Allen who enjoyed a veteran’s rest day off while return man Derius Davis remained out with a knee injury....
After a two-interception game against the Giants in Week Four, you just know Justin Herbert is chomping at the bit to get back out on the field to wash away the grimy feeling that comes with falling short of your own expectations.
Luckily, the Chargers are hosting the Commanders this week who currently have the 27th-ranked pass defense, allowing nearly 250 through the air per game. If the Chargers offensive line can hold up without left tackle Joe Alt, then this may be another Herbert hero game in the making.
On the flip-side of things, the Commanders will bring the...

The Chargers had seemingly dozens things go wrong against the New York Giants and that ultimately led to their first loss of the season in a 21-18 decision. Left tackle Joe Alt is likely to miss multiple weeks with an ankle injury and without him, only a higher power can save Herbert from the potential wave of abuse he’s about to receive from opposing defensive fronts.
If the Chargers can somehow manage to stay afloat while Alt and edge rusher Khalil Mack work their way back from injuries, they will still have a chance to compete in both the AFC...
Throughout the 2025 NFL season, SB Nation’s Doug Farrar will write about the game’s Secret Superstars — those players whose performances might slip under the radar for whatever reasons. In this installment, Los Angeles Chargers edge-rusher Tuli Tuipulotu — whose profile has been rising for a while now — deserves more recognition as a full-fledged, all-in, defense-defining force.
There are people who wonder, when a pass rusher has no sacks three games into a season, what’s wrong with the guy. In the case of Chargers EDGE Tuli Tuipulotu, who hadn’t had a quarterback takedown in the first three games of...
On Tuesday afternoon, the Chargers announced a handful of roster transactions, including the addition of a new offensive lineman to the team.
Firstly, the Bolts are adding former Browns offensive lineman Michael Dunn and former Seahawks cornerback Isas Waxter to the practice squad. Dunn is a former undrafted free agent of the Los Angeles Rams back in 2017. He has had stints with five NFL teams in his career, including stops in the AAF and the XFL. He has nine career starts, all coming with the Browns from 2020-2024.
Waxter is a rookie corner out of Villanove University. He’s a...
