J.K. Dobbins rushed for a career-high 905 yards and nine touchdowns for the Chargers in 2024.
The Chargers will face former starting running back J.K. Dobbins twice during the 2025 season after the 26-year old signed a one-year, $5.25 million deal to join the Denver Broncos.
Dobbins played in 13 games during the 2024 season for the Bolts, missing four to injury. He still ended up rushing for 905 yards and nine touchdowns, both of which were new career highs.
Dobbins now joins a Broncos backfield that features 2025 draft pick RJ Harvey out of Central Florida, along with fellow...

Zion Johnson and his potential transition to center will be one of the main storylines to follow as Chargers kick off minicamp on Tuesday.
The Chargers kick off their mandatory minicamp on Tuesday before resuming OTAs on June 16.
Here are four players I’ll be keeping an eye on over the next three days.
This is a potential summer of change for Johnson who has been swapping in and out at center with 2024 starter Bradley Bozeman during OTAs. When Johnson is in at center, Bozeman has been at left guard.
We have not seen enough...
Despite not appearing at OTAs thus far, left tackle Rashawn Slater is back in the building for the Chargers shooting media promos.
Thus far through OTAs, Chargers left tackle Rashawn Slater has not been in attendance. OTAs are not mandatory so this isn’t the largest cause for concern, but it was still noteworthy given that Slater hadn’t missed an OTA since joining the team in 2021.
This offseason is different, however. Slater and his camp are still in the middle of negotiating a new contract for Slater as he enters the final year of his rookie contract. Given that the...

The trio of Khalil Mack, Daiyan Henley, and Derwin James was named the 12th-best “defensive triplet” in the NFL, by Sports Illustrated.
One of my favorite offseason article ideas is ranking each NFL team’s top “triplets,” whether that’s on the offensive or defensive side of the ball.
Gilberto Manzano of Sports Illustrated just dropped his latest on the league’s top defensive trios and he’s got the Bolts near the top but still just outside the top 10 at No. 12.
For his trio, he picked edge rusher Khalil Mack, linebacker Daiyan Henley, and safety Derwin James.
“The Chargers *went...

The Chargers have officially announced their 2025 training camp schedule.
The Chargers have announced their official 2025 training camp dates!
The Chargers are rewarding veteran edge rusher Bud Dupree by locking him in for at least one more season in Los Angeles.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Chargers announced that they’re giving veteran edge rusher Bud Dupree a one-year contract extension which will keep the 32-year old in Los Angeles through the 2026 season. Per multiple reports, the one-year extension is worth up to $6 million.
Dupree ended his first year with the Chargers having recorded 28 total tackles, six tackles for loss, six sacks, an interception, two pass breakups, and a forced fumble. That’s not a bad stat line for...

After starting 11 games for the Chargers in 2024, J.K. Dobbins is taking his first reported visit as a free agent to the Broncos on Thursday.
Despite rushing for a career high in yardage in his first season with the Chargers, J.K. Dobbins was not re-signed by the team before they went out and added two new running backs to reshape the backfield entirely.
Eventually, however, the Chargers used the UFA on Dobbins which means if he were to sign with a team ahead of the July 22 deadline, he would potentially become a Compensatory Free Agent lost by the...
Rookie wideouts Tre Harris and KeAndre Lambert-Smith are purposely being brought along slowly as they work up to the proper fitness level, per position coach Sanjay Lal.
Chargers wide receivers coach Sanjay Lal was one of the handful of players/coaches to speak with the media following Tuesday’s OTA session. Questions from the media ranged across the entire position group, but the most notable nugget of information we got from Lal was in regards to the team’s two drafted receivers, second-rounder Tre Harris and fifth-rounder KeAndre Lambert-Smith.
When asked about his first-year players, Lal told reporters that they are *“bringing them...
