The Lions need a new center after the retirement of Frank Ragnow. Luckily, the Chargers have some extra bodies.
Lions three-time All-Pro center Frank Ragnow announced his retirement from the NFL at the age of 29 on Monday morning. It continues a season of re-tooling for Detroit who has already lost both their offensive and defensive coordinators this past season to head-coaching opportunities. For a team who loves to run the ball and play a very efficient-type of offense, losing the guy in the middle of the offensive line has got to hurt.
Now I don’t expect the Lions as...

The Chargers roster is getting better, and an old friend returning to the team may end up being the X-factor for the offense in 2025.
NFL analaysts Max Chadwick and Dalton Wasserman of Pro Football Focus just dropped a lengthy piece where they analyzed each of the 32 NFL rosters and highlighting such areas as strengths and weaknesses from the previous season, the team’s x-factor during the 2025 season, and a rookie to keep an eye on.
We’re going to go ahead and dive in to see what they had to say about the Chargers.
The Chargers could save over $6 million in cap space if they cut Trey Pipkins III after June 1.
This weekend marks one of the biggest landmarks of the NFL offseason as teams will now be able to make post-June 1 cuts to their rosters. For those unaware, June 1 is the date after which teams can cut players while being able to split up their guaranteed money or signing bonuses over the span of two seasons instead of taking the hit all at once. That is why we see a number of team transaction with a “post-June 1 designation”...

Tre Harris will look to not only earn a starting job in 2025, but become one of the Chargers best playmakers as a rookie.
At this point in the offseason, 2025 first-round pick Omarion Hampton has been receiving most of the spotlight in regards to the Chargers’ most recent draft class. It’s easy to why, of course. He’s a big, bruising, and athletic running back that’s set to play in Greg Roman’s run-heavy scheme. All the reasons to believe Hampton will hit the ground running are there.
However, he’s not the only one seemingly with a path to production as...

Cam Hart, the team’s 2024 fifth-round pick, suffered a torn labrum against the Texans in the wild card loss and remains uncleared after undergoing surgery in January.
The Chargers commenced their OTAs on Tuesday along with 19 other NFL teams. For the most part, attendance was solid outside of three players. They were left tackle Rashawn Slater, offensive lineman Trey Pipkins, and veteran edge rusher Bud Dupree. These are voluntary of course so nothing to really write home about just yet.
As for players that did attend, per The Athletic’s Daniel Popper, a handful of them spent the opening session...
The Chargers’ star left tackle was not in attendance for the first day of OTAs as he seeks a new contract.
The biggest headlines surrounding Tuesday’s group of 20 teams beginning their OTA sessions centered around the biggest names who were not in attendance with their teammates. Of course players not attending is to be expected when the practices are voluntary, but normally good, cohesive teams will get their guys in the building unless there’s something understandably keeping them away, like a wait for a new and deserved contract.
That’s likely the case with Chargers left tackle Rashawn Slater who...

Former Chargers standout and current Bills pass rusher Joey Bosa has reportedly pulled a calf muscle and will likely be sidelined until training camp.
After nine seasons with the Chargers (both in San Diego and Los Angeles), Joey Bosa was not retained as a free agent this offseason and he eventually signed with the Buffalo Bills in hopes of chasing a bit more postseason success as he enters the twilight of his career.
Unfortunately, his time in Buffalo has already looked par for the course from his last few seasons with the Bolts.
Per NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Bills head...

We’re back from summer vacation!
Over the third phase of the NFL’s offseason program, the Chargers will begin seven-on-seven, nine-on-seven, and 11-on-11 drills, all without live contact. OTAs remain a voluntary session with mandatory minicamps beginning the second and third weeks of June.
