The Arizona Cardinals own the third overall pick in this April’s NFL draft. A plethora of blue-chip players will be waiting to hear their name called with that selection.
The Cardinals have many holes, and this pick will solve only one of them. Should this be an offensive player or another defensive guy? Last year, GM Monti Ossenfort took six of seven draft picks and used them on the defense.

Happy Sunday one and all.
The Arizona Cardinals are obviously not playing today, and after a Saturday that saw a couple of intriguing games, the question becomes… When will they be playing in the postseason again?

Revenge of the Birds
At first glance, Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh losing his job after an 18-year tenure looked like a slap in the face to the successful coach. Now, it looks like a slap to his bank account.
On March 28, 2025, Harbaugh signed a three-year contract extension with the Ravens that ran through the 2028 season.

That means Harbaugh had two years remaining on his deal. After three consecutive years with double-digit wins, three playoff appearances, and a loss in the AFC Championship Game, Baltimore went 8-9-0 including the final season loss to the...

Happy Wild Card Weekend one and all.
This is the best weekend of the NFL season, as we have games Saturday through Monday Night and the Arizona Cardinals cannot disappoint or hurt us.
This is a safe space.
For this one, Jess and I talk about who we would like to see make a run, but then make our picks and realize the team we want to see win it will likely be done this weekend.
All of that and more, so sit back, relax and enjoy.

Revenge of the Birds
The Arizona Cardinals had an abysmal season.
Yet, one bright spot in an otherwise miserable season was Trey McBride.
For his efforts, McBride for the first time in his career was named an All Pro, and not just an All Pro, but a first team All Pro.
McBride finished the 2025 season with 126 receptions for 1,239 yards and a career high 11 touchdowns.
This is the first All Pro selection for McBride, and the first time an Arizona Cardinals player has been a first team All Pro since Budda Baker in 2020.
McBride was the only Arizona Cardinals player...

Once upon a time, the Cardinals had a game that ended with the winner taking home a trophy. Do you recall the game?
From 1968 to 1988, the St. Louis Cardinals participated in a contest every time they competed against the Kansas City Chiefs. Both clubs were located in the State of Missouri, and it was therefore conceived that when the two teams were on the schedule, there should be an additional incentive.

Revenge of the Birds
The Arizona Cardinals own the third overall pick in this April’s NFL draft. Who will they select? What positions are on their short list of the greatest needs? Will they go offense or defense?
The third draft pick alone is a valuable asset for any ballclub. Last year, the Cleveland Browns owned the second overall pick, then traded it away to the Jacksonville Jaguars, who had a man crush on CB/WR Travis Hunter out of Colorado. The Browns dropped from #2 to #5, then grabbed a defensive tackle because they couldn’t stop the run, and also was given the Jaguars...

The list of NFL teams that now need a coach keeps growing. The Arizona Cardinals are certainly on that list as they axed Jonathan Gannon on Black Monday.
The job now is to make a short list of candidates the team is interested in, set up interviews either virtually or in person, and then pare the list down to just a few. This link provides a complete list of who the Cardinals are interested in:

The Arizona Cardinals’ list of candidates for their head coaching search just added one more name: Green Bay Packers DC Jeff Hafley.

According to ROTB’s Managing Editor Seth Cox, the Cardinals’ list is already pretty long as he put together a comprehensive list on Wednesday. That list:
Yesterday, the team added two more:
Revenge of the Birds
Coming into Thursday, January 8, 2026 there were seven teams in need of a new head coach.
It is the usual cast of characters, the Arizona Cardinals, New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, Atlanta Falcons, and Tennessee Titans with a new name, the Baltimore Ravens.
Then this morning the Miami Dolphins, a team with only three coaches the last decade (that surprised me I am not going to lie) joined the fray.
They have let go of Mike McDaniel who was 35-33 with two playoff games in his four seasons. Now I know, only two playoffs and no...
Revenge of the Birds
The Arizona Cardinals are said to be the New York Jets with palm trees.
Of course, that is meant to be mean. But when your roster doesn’t win and remains on the sidelines while each year’s playoffs get rolling, insults are going to be a part of life.
Cardinals’ fans are cynical. They know their team isn’t good and won’t go anywhere anytime soon. They expect defeat and failure. They don’t trust the system and know that sooner or later, whatever is going on will end in sneering and disparaging treatment of their own loyalty and fandom.
