Cleveland Browns fans are starting to feel a little hope with their team. While the biggest question remains (who will start at quarterback, and are they good enough to lead to victories?), a huge looming issue lingered over the entire NFL. Multiple times this offseason, news leaked about huge issues in negotiations between the NFL and the referees’ union, with a stoppage all but assumed by many.

The difference in hope among Cleveland Browns fans from before the 2026 NFL draft and after is palpable. Few believe the team is set to compete for any kind of championship this season, but the foundation that was laid with the 2025 rookie class has now been added to with the 2026 group that could reach even higher marks than last year.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders broke away from his offseason training in order to attend his graduation ceremony from the University of Colorado. He finished with a degree in sociology and graduated with a 3.9 GPA.
Sanders left the school a year ago to enter the NFL draft. While playing for the Browns as a rookie in 2025, Sanders balanced his day job with studies so that he could walk with his normal graduating class.

When the Cleveland Browns came into this year’s NFL draft, there were certain positions of need that had to be addressed: offensive tackle, receiver, safety, and offensive guard.
Quarterback just wasn’t on the list. A third cover cornerback would be more useful than another signal-caller.
