The Cleveland Browns opened rookie minicamp on Friday, fresh off signing eight of their 10 draft picks and 12 of their reported 15 undrafted free agents.
That number hit 13 on Saturday morning with the news that the team has signed cornerback Michael Coats Jr., an undrafted free agent out of West Virginia.

Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry has received considerable praise for his work during the offseason.
Berry rebuilt an aging offensive line through free agency and a trade, before capping it off by drafting Spencer Fano, Austin Barber, and Parker Brailsford. Berry also added much-needed help at wide receiver with the selections of KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston, and built depth at tight end by selecting Joe Royer and Carsen Ryan.
That is all well and good, and certainly is better than an alternative scenario where the moves are universally panned. But it is only the beginning.

Cleveland Browns rookie minicamp is officially underway in Berea and will run from May 8-10, before a few of the rookies head off to the NFLPA Rookie Premiere. Earlier today, the Browns officially confirmed the signing of 12 undrafted free agents to fill out their roster.
There is also a lot of competition taking place at rookie minicamp. A total of 53 players are taking part, including 25 players who are trying out. Let’s break the players down by category:

On Friday, the Cleveland Browns announced that they claimed DT Elijah Chatman off waivers from the New York Giants. The Browns had a roster spot open up when they placed LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah on the reserve/physically unable to perform list earlier in the day.
