2026 NFL season: Picking breakout candidates for all 32 teams
For many players, such a prolonged unavailability would jeopardize their snaps. But All is so beloved by the Bengals’ staff — said coach Zac Taylor: “With the word physical in the dictionary is a picture of Erick All, trying to put his face through somebody’s soul.” — that he remains a candidate to start. All outsnapped incumbent Mike Gesicki in five of the nine games he played as a rookie and brings a much-needed blocking dimension to Cincinnati’s rushing attack. If he’s healthy, I expect him to lead the TE...

Isaiah Foskey signed with the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad in September last season. He was later elevated to the 53-man roster in late November. The former Notre Dame defender flashed in limited action.
Foskey will earn just over $1.1 million if he makes the Bengals 53-man roster during the 2026 season. After the season, he would be a restricted free agent.
Isaiah Foskey was a highly regarded recruit...

All offseason, we’ve heard about how the defense has been revamped and that now it’s time to deliver.
Of course, by “deliver”, most mean that they have to just not be among the worst defenses in the league.
Two of the guys who will have the spotlight on them are 2025 first round and second round Draft picks Shemar Stewart and Demetrius Knight. So much so that Pro Football Focus listed them among the top 10 second-year players under pressure to perform in 2026.
PFF’s Bradley Locker wrote that Stewart “underwhelmed mightily” in the 280 snaps when he was healthy....

The Cincinnati Bengals started two rookie middle linebackers last season, and the results were not ideal. Still, Barrett Carter has a chance to step up and be a major part of this team’s success. Carter has impressive athleticism and played consistently well in his time at Clemson.
Carter enters the second season of his four-year $5.2 million rookie deal. He carries a $1.25 million cap hit in 2026 and will not be a...

The Cincinnati Bengals aren’t necessarily known for their running game, but they have gotten some solid production out of Chase Brown in the running and passing games. Brown isn’t typically listed with the top running backs in the NFL, but some say he is the perfect back for Cincinnati’s offense.
It is offseason rankings season, and Pro Football Focus recently ranked all 32 starting running backs. On the list, Brown comes in at No. 18.

The Bengals are known for their lethal aerial attack, but Brown has become a stable force...

Now that we’re in July, it won’t be long before the Cincinnati Bengals report for training camp, hoping to begin a journey that ends with the team back in the Super Bowl.
In order to get there, the Bengals will have to navigate an AFC North that could very well produce three playoff contenders between the Bengals, Baltimore Ravens, and Pittsburgh Steelers, while the Cleveland Browns will likely remain toward the bottom of the NFL hierarchy.
A big reason why the Bengals haven’t been to the playoffs more often is not getting enough wins in their own division. They did...

Chase Brown had a slow start to last year, largely due to the Joe Burrow injury that resulted in Jake Browning getting four starts.
The running back averaged just 2.46 yards per carry through Week 5, but then turned it around and averaged 5.14 yards per carry after Joe Flacco took over for Browning and then Burrow returned to the field.
Still, that slow start has the quick running back’s stock dropping to the point that coaches, scouts, and executives do not consider him to be among the top ten backs in the NFL, [according to a survey conducted by...

Looking for another big-play threat, the Cincinnati Bengals took a shot on a wide receiver in the 2024 NFL Draft, and it promptly blew up in their faces. Jermaine Burton was a big swing that did not pay off, but that doesn’t mean that Colbie Young will have the same fate.
Young did have some legal trouble in 2024, but his character doesn’t seem to be a concern.
He fractured his fibula in 2025, but he fought to come back by the end of the season.
In short, he is not a clean prospect, but he is far from Burton....

Fantasy football target practice: The 2026 Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals remained one of the NFL’s most productive passing offenses in 2025 despite losing Joe Burrow to a Grade 3 turf toe injury in Week 2. Burrow threw for 1,809 yards and 17 TDs in just eight games, while Cincinnati’s passing attack continued to produce for skill players under Joe Flacco, finishing the season with 4,244 passing yards and 38 TDs as a crew for the Queen City.

Amarius Mims looks like a long-term pillar of the Cincinnati Bengals’ offensive line.
And Pro Football Focus’ Bradley Locker agrees. He named Mims to his All-Breakout Team for 2026.
The analyst said Mims was raw coming out of Georgia but is quickly realizing his potential. Here’s what Locker wrote:
Mims’ second season in Cincinnati was decent on the surface with a 67.6 overall PFF grade, finishing with no higher than a 66.6 mark in both pass- and run-blocking. But Mims really hit his stride in the second half of 2025, earning an 81.0 overall grade from Weeks 12-18. In...

Everybody likes to believe they know a lot about the things they’re passionate about. If you’re here, you’re passionate about the Cincinnati Bengals. I don’t know—and don’t pretend to know—everything about everyone on the Bengals’ roster, but I’ve followed this team for a long, long time, and I’ve been writing about them here since 2011.
Having said that, there are plenty of “hot takes” I’ve had that were absolutely dead wrong. I’ve had a few I’m pretty proud of, too.
Let’s start with a bad one.
When the Bengals allowed Carl Lawson to leave in free agency, opting instead to...
