NFL authorized Guardian Caps to be worn during games in 2024

This is Major Tom to Ground Control, I’ve got my helmet on.

If there’s one challenge the NFL has in 2024 and beyond, it’s player safety.

As players continue to become bigger and faster, helmet-to-helmet hits will continue to be brutal and could dissuade future generations from ever stepping onto the field.

The NFL decided that it will now allow players to wear Guardian Caps, the cushioned sleeve stretched over the helmets we see during training camp, during the regular season in an attempt to minimize traumatic brain injuries.

The Guardian Caps have been mandatory for linemen in training camps...

Bengals reveal rookie numbers

The numbers are out.

The Cincinnati Bengals will be bringing in at least 10 new faces, many of whom have a good chance at cracking the 53-man roster.

With their first-round pick, the team added Georgia tackle Amarius Mims.

Cincinnati then enhanced its depth on the defensive line, offensive line, wide receiver, and cornerback throughout the rest of the draft. The Bengals should be an improved team and prepare themselves well for the future.

That said, with the draft having been almost a week away now, the team has released the rookie numbers, and here they are.

Big-Play Burton.

We knew that change was coming to the Cincinnati Bengals' offense, and the meteoric change came in Round 3 when the Bengals selected Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Jermaine Burton.

Burton is a major playmaker who should see the field immediately as the slot receiver and could eventually become Tee Higgins’ replacement on the outside.

This clip demonstrates the speed that Burton brings to the Bengals receiving corps. When the ball is in the air, he finds another gear and separates from the defender.

If you watch the second angle, you see a nice steam to set up...

Could Tyler Boyd reunite with Brian Callahan?

Now that the NFL Draft has concluded, Tyler Boyd will likely sign with an NFL team in the near future.

Sadly, it likely won’t be the Cincinnati Bengals, especially after the team spent a third-round pick on Alabama wideout Jermaine Burton.

It does appear we could see Boyd reunited with Brian Callahan, as the veteran has reportedly set up visits with the Tennessee Titans, as well as the Los Angeles Chargers.

This, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

In 120 career games over eight seasons with the Bengals, Boyd has caught 513 passes for...

Maybe the Bengals see something in the former Oklahoma State/Michigan State running back.

The Cincinnati Bengals are busy following the 2024 NFL Draft, filling their roster with college football players who weren’t drafted.

One of those players the Bengals signed is Oklahoma State running back Elijah Collins.

According to Aaron Wilson, included in Collins’ contract was an $8,000 signing bonus, something most undrafted free agents don’t receive.

A bonus means it’s possible that there were multiple teams looking to sign Collins, and this was the Bengals' way to make sure he came to Cincinnati. It could be that they just...
