The incoherent ramblings of a belligerent Bears fan.
Man, it was nice while it lasted, wasn’t it?
I know some Chicago Bears fans actually wanted a loss in week 18 for draft position but that wasn’t me. I’m all for tanking if a team needs a QB, especially if there’s an excellent prospect coming up in the draft, but I wanted the win against the Packers. I wasn’t expecting it, but I was damn glad it happened.
Monday I was hopeful we would hear the Bears were making an additional change, but no news came down. It wasn’t surprising. It...
As teams gear up for the postseason, the Bears head to the offseason
After wrapping up the 2024 season with a much-needed win, the Chicago Bears are headed to the long offseason.
They are already well into their head coaching search.
Such is the dichotomy of the NFL. A dozen teams are still alive for the championship while over half the league is taking vacations and turning their focus to roster evaluation and draft prep.
So for a final time let’s roll through the power rankings following the NFL’s regular season.
25. Chicago Bears...
General Manager Ryan Poles will lead the process, but we have a list of the other individuals who could be involved.
The top three individuals running the Chicago Bears — Chairman George McCaskey, President and CEO Kevin Warren, and General Manager Ryan Poles — met with the media today. They discussed various topics, but the ongoing search for a new head coach was front and center.
Poles will lead the search, but here are the names of those who will be involved in the interview process.
Ryan Poles, GM
Kevin Warren, President and CEO
George McCaskey, Chairman
Ted Crews, Special...
The Chicago Bears closed out the season with a fun upset of the rival Green Bay Packers.
And as hallow as that victory was (with Jordan Love sitting out most of it and the fact that the Packers didn’t have a ton on the line and the Bears had four wins coming in). It was nonetheless worthy of celebrating.
The Bears tried to be their worst version of themselves at different points in the game. But they overcame their worst tendencies and sprinkled in some ‘pull-out-all-the-stops’ plays to get the win.
So before we head off in to the long...
If true, the Bears could be in some trouble.
Hold onto your butts, Chicago Bears fans. Things might be about to get weird.
Though the Jacksonville Jaguars may have excused themselves from the Ben Johnson sweepstakes, Chicago might have some stiff competition for the right to hire the Detroit offensive coordinator as its next head coach with the New England Patriots apparently emerging as strong competitors.
Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, who has strong ties to the Patriots, has joined others in reporting Johnson has significant interest in both the Bears and Patriots jobs. In fact, Breer tweeted Tuesday that [Johnson...
The Chicago Bears did the expected.
Last month at their dual press conference following Matt Eberflus’ firing, Team President Kevin Warren said that general manager Ryan Poles would be the team's lead voice in the search for a new head coach, and that appears to still be true. There was some uncertainty for a while, but it was announced yesterday that Poles would address the media from Halas Hall at 10:00 a.m. CT today. So unless there's a clusterflus-like swerve on deck, Poles isn’t going anywhere.
There’s been consternation among some that keeping Poles would prevent them from hiring certain...
Mock drafts are fun, but four-round mock comes with a dose of reality up front that adds just a little bit of pramgatism to the fantasy.
While just under half of the fanbases in the NFL are focused on playoffs, for others it is now mock draft season. This is my first mock for the season, and it begins with a rational disclaimer instead of a descent into the fun diversion offered by most simulators.
THE DISCLAIMER
The “breaking point” for finding an elite player is around the 11th pick in the draft. How clear of a breaking point is...
The exit interviews are over, the search for the new Bears head coach takes over the headlines in Chicago

Breaking down PFF’s highest-graded Bears from Sunday’s Week 18 matchup.
Chicago Bears football concluded on Sunday, and with it come PFF grades.
Pro Football Focus has been an industry leader in football analytics since 2006, and with the new season coming into play, we figured it would be a good idea to highlight some of the top performers on both sides of the ball in each Bears game going forward.
The Bears broke their 10-game losing streak in jaw-dropping fashion, defeating the Packers 24-22 in Green Bay off a last-second field goal by Cairo Santos. The defense and special teams...
Our standout performers from the Week 18 victory in Green Bay.
Now that was fun.
After the catastrophe that was the 2024 season, the Chicago Bears walked into Lambeau Field and earned a victory against the Green Bay Packers. Finally. This was the Bears’ first victory at Lambeau since 2015, and their first win against the Packers since December 2018.
It wasn’t easy. The Bears offense looked as bad as ever early on, with interim head coach Thomas Brown calling more screen passes than any coach ever should. Ever. The offensive line was getting destroyed. And yet, the team fought...
JB and Lester with their cooled-down recap of the Bears vs. Packers game, plus some year-end awards.
One of the most disappointing Chicago Bears seasons is finally over, but it ends on a high note with a much-needed win against the Green Bay Packers. It may not mean anything in the standings, but the emotion from the players both during and after the game tells us all we need to know.
Caleb Williams was well aware of the rivalry's recent history. He discussed it in his postgame on-field interview on FOX, in the locker room when he addressed his teammates...
