The final game-day injury reports have been released by the Chicago Bears and the New York Giants ahead of their game this Sunday, and the Bears will be without linebacker T.J. Edwards (hand/hamstring), cornerback Josh Blackwell (concussion), and defensive end Dominique Robinson (ankle).

Head coach Ben Johnson said that Edwards had surgery on a fracture in his hand, but he’s not expected to go on injured reserve. He added that T.J.’s hamstring issue is related to the injury from earlier this season.

Running back D’Andre Swift, who was held out last week with a groin issue, is listed as questionable....

The Chicago Bears are coming off winning one of the wildest NFL games of the year last Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. The win brought their record to 5-3, and they have a chance to push their record to 6-3, which would be the first time the Bears are 3 games over .500 since 2020, when they started 5-1.

As fun as it would’ve been to see the Bears make a major move in the pass-rush department at the trade deadline, their instinct to take a seven-round-pick flyer on former No. 32 overall pick Joe Tryon-Shoyinka was the wise thing to do. Earlier today, the Chicago Bears announced that linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga was activated from injured reserve, while waiving linebacker Carl Jones Jr. in a corresponding move.

Ogbongbemiga has yet to play in a game this year after being placed on IR before the season started with a knee injury. In 2024, his first in Chicago, he played in all 17 games, recording 11 special teams tackles, tying for the team lead.

I’m not saying Chicago’s third phase needs Amen, but through eight games, their punt coverage is allowing 11 yards per return (14th most), and their kickoff coverage has allowed 29...
