If you still had doubts about whether Ben Johnson could bring the juice to the Chicago Bears, yesterday should’ve laid them to rest.
Because whatever you think of his team through nine games this season, one thing is clear: they’re all-in. His signature breakdown with his players after the game was all the confirmation needed.
A cynic might ask, “Why celebrate this much after…that?” After all, the Bears just barely beat a bad Giants team that lost its solid rookie quarterback mid-game and needed their very last offensive possession to do it. Why celebrate a win over the corpse of...
Windy City Gridiron
Another week, another Chicago Bears comeback victory.
It would sure be nice for this team to win in blowout fashion at some point in time. My stress levels would appreciate it.
That being said, what a thrilling victory on Sunday over the New York Giants. A cold, windy, and snowy day led to not much going right for the team through three quarters. The defense is still a major issue, and some timely drops by Chicago’s pass catchers really hurt the offense through three quarters.
But then, just like we’ve seen multiple times this year, #18 put the team on...

The Chicago Bears might be winning games, but they aren’t doing their fans any favors by how close they keep cutting it these last-minute wins. For the second straight week, the offense had to win the game in the final two minutes of the game. Unlike last weekend’s team effort, Sunday’s win was all about their franchise quarterback. Five games ago, I said the Bears needed to go (4-1) over this five-game stretch to remain in the playoff race, and that’s precisely what they did. With the schedule tightening up starting next weekend on the road, heading into the final...

From penalties to poor play, the 2025 Chicago Bears have found ways to win despite certain players or entire units playing well below expectations. Sunday against the New York Giants was no different, but in the end, Caleb Williams and Co. clawed back and snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, and the Bears improve to 6-3. Here are my notes.
Windy City Gridiron
Ben Johnson didn’t have his best game as a play caller, and the game plan on both sides of the ball left something to be desired, but as they’ve done in four of their six wins this season, the Chicago Bears came back and won a game that they never would have under previous regimes.
The culture change is real.
When asked how he’d weigh their strong finish aganst their poor play early in the game, Johnson talked about his team’s resiliency.
“The good news about it is our guys are starting to — I shouldn’t say starting to —...

Once again, the Chicago Bears came back in the fourth quarter, this time after being down by 10, and they pulled off a 24-20 win against the New York Giants. With this win, they advance to 6-3 on the season. While some of their games have been ugly and often too close for comfort, this team is finding ways to win, something they have struggled to do under previous regimes.
The Windy City Honors superlatives are always easier to give out after a win. Let’s get into it:
Biggest Dud of the Game

Our partners at FanDuel Sportsbook dropped some early Week 11 NFL odds, and they’re giving the Chicago Bears 2.5 points on the road against the division rival Minnesota Vikings. The point total over/under for the game is 45.5.
These two teams met in the season opener, and the Vikes beat the Bears 27 to 24 after an impressive comeback led by second-year quarterback J.J. McCarthy. After being bottled up most of the game, McCarthy threw for two touchdowns and ran for another in the fourth quarter. Then again, I’m not sure if that was J.J. on the comeback or his...

He did it again.
For the fourth time this season, Caleb Williams brought the Chicago Bears back to win a football game.
In what looked like a sure Bears loss, where the defense was bad most of the day, the drops were horrendous, the special teams weren’t very special, and Ben Johnson’s game plan was questionable, Caleb would not be denied in the final 10:19 of the game.
“I can feel my body settle down,” Williams said in his postgame press conference about his late-game mentality. “That’s important for me when I’m out there in those moments, but the calmness,...

Every Bears game this season is designed purposefully to take years off your life, for better or worse.
The Giants firmly had the lead going into the fourth quarter, but 14 points scored by Chicago helped them come from behind with a 24-20 victory on Sunday at Soldier Field. At their worst, the Bears had a 3.1% chance to win the game, according to ESPN’s analytics department. But a forced fumble, a couple of sacks, and strong play at the end of the quarter by Caleb Williams propelled them to a win to bring the Bears up to a 6-3...

After putting up 47 points on the road last week, what will the Chicago Bears do for the home fans today against the New York Giants? New York has an awful run defense, so could we see some more angry running from rookie Kyle Monangai? D’Andre Swift is also back. Will the weather allow Chicago’s passing game to make an impact?
The Bears’ defense allowed 470 passing yards to 40-year-old Joe Flacco last week, so will they bounce back today against rookie Jaxon Dart, who is 18 years younger?
Hang out with us in our open thread to talk about...
