Like many, the first thought I had on this topic was tight end. After all, Colston Loveland seems primed for the Pro Bowl this season, Cole Kmet has a decent chance at breaking the franchise reception record for a tight end this year, and rookie Sam Roush was called the best blocking tight end in the draft. The Bears’ 13...

Bengals

  • The Athletic’s Paul Dehner Jr. points out the Bengals have a strong history of making notable additions in August, whether it’s via free agency or a trade. He expects that to continue in 2026, with holes at cornerback, swing tackle, and linebacker that still loom for a team with high expectations.
  • Dehner adds the training camp performances of LB Demetrius Knight, LB Barrett Carter and OT Cody Ford will determine how much urgency the Bengals act with to address those positions.
  • Regarding RB Chase Brown who is entering the final year of his contract, Dehner...

Browns Sign CB Damarri Mathis

The Browns swapped cornerbacks on their active roster on Tuesday, per an official announcement, signing former Bronco Damarri Mathis and waiving 2025 UDFA Dom Jones with a failed physical designation.

Mathis, 27, was originally a Broncos fourth-round pick out of Pitt in 2022. He stepped into a starting role partway through his rookie year and started the last 11 games of Denver’s season. He allowed 6.6 yards per target – just 0.5 yards worse than All-Pro teammate Patrick Surtain – and ranked second on the team with seven passes defended.

Mathis retained his starting job into 2023, but a rough...

Browns roster: Add former 4th-round CB, waive CB due to failed physical days before training camp opens

When we looked at the Cleveland Browns depth charts, there is a lot of young talent to be found. Unfortunately, the team also lacks the type of veteran, top-level talent needed to be talked about among NFL playoff contenders. The cornerback room is an interesting one with two quality starters, Denzel Ward and Tyson Campbell, followed by a lot of question marks.

Just days ago, our projected first six corners looked like this:

Starter – Denzel Ward
Starter – Tyson Campbell
CB3 – Myles Bryant
CB4 – Myles Harden
CB5 – Dom Jones
CB6 – Michael Coats Jr.

Cleveland also...
