Discussion: How difficult will the Detroit Lions’ remaining games be?

Discussion: How difficult will the Detroit Lions’ remaining games be?

Six games to go with the playoffs on the horizon. How difficult is the remaining schedule for the now 10-1 Detroit Lions?

The win streak goes on.

When the Detroit Lions defeated the Indianapolis Colts, it almost felt casual. Aside from a few minor scares early on, there was little threat from the Colts. The Lions did what they do best: churn out yardage with their run game and passing attack and smother with their defense. Detroit now sits at 10-1 with their eyes firmly on the playoffs, but with six games remaining, the road is far from over.

Falcons - Chargers Week 13 game coverage

Atlanta (6-5) tries to get back to winning against the Chargers.

With a Tampa Bay Buccaneers win, the Bucs are effectively a game-and-a-half back on the Atlanta Falcons right now, thanks to Atlanta’s needed tiebreaker. Fending off Tampa Bay means winning often down the stretch, beginning with Week 13.

Atlanta’s now 0-3 against the AFC this year, so they’ll need to buck a trend here against the Los Angeles Chargers. A talented team with a top-flight quarterback in Justin Herbert and a capable ground game, the Chargers bring one of the league’s better defenses to bear, as well. That means...

Bengals News (11/25): Cincinnati doesn’t receive much help in playoff hunt after Sunday’s games

The Bengals are a team that do have to do some scoreboard watching this year, and in Week 12 the teams currently slated for playoff spots did their jobs.

Stats to Know From The Bengals First 11 Weeks of 2024
Joe Burrow’s 89.3 PFF-pass grade is the second-highest in the NFL and trails only Baltimore's Lamar Jackson. PFF also has charted Burrow with 21 big-time throws, the second-most behind Buffalo's Josh Allen. Burrow additionally has a 77.8 PFF-pass grade under pressure this season, the second-highest grade in the league among QBs with at least 50 dropbacks under pressure.

In Roob’s Observations: The Saquon show continues as Eagles take down Rams - NBCSP
1. Let’s have a conversation about Saquon Barkley. I’m out of adjectives to describe what he’s doing. Completely bat-bleep preposterous. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, he opens the third quarter of a one-possession game with a 70-yard touchdown run and then follows that with a 72-yarder to put the game away in the fourth quarter. Barkley is the sixth player in NFL history with two 70-yard touchdown runs...

Brian Burns looking ahead to 2025 is a telling sign for feckless Giants

The New York Giants have six games remaining on their 2024 regular season schedule but some players are already looking ahead to next year.

Following Sunday’s 30-7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at MetLife Stadium, linebacker Brian Burns praised the team’s rookie class but did it in a way that may indicate he’s checked out.

From The Athletic:

*The rookie struggles can be chalked up as growing pains, and Burns said, “they’re going to be key players for us next year.” It was a bit alarming, however, that Burns was talking about next year with six games remaining...
