The Steelers star wants a new contract
Pittsburgh Steelers star T.J. Watt is skipping mandatory mini-camp as he continues to seek a new contract, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The star edge rusher will likely turn down any deal that isn’t equal to or greater than the deal that Cleveland Browns' edge rusher Myles Garrett received, which was a $40 million per year deal.
Watt did not attend OTAs, which isn’t uncommon for veterans and din’t seem to draw up much attention. However, he will now be subjected to fines for missing mandatory dates on the schedule. Per Schefter, the...
Steelers defensive tackle Cameron Heyward and tight end Pat Freiermuth react to Pittsburgh finally landing quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
The Pittsburgh Steelers signing of quarterback Aaron Rodgers has received a lot of mixed responses, but defensive tackle Cameron Heyward and tight end Pat Freiermuth believe it was a good thing.
“He brings the leadership. We were talking about this last night. Dude’s a four-time MVP. That is nothing to look over. Got a chance to meet him. Very nice and approachable. I’m just excited to get down to business,” Heyward said on the latest episode of “Not Just Football with Cam...
Miami Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith is not in attendance at the team’s mandatory minicamp as he seeks a new contract from the team. Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said Smith’s absence was not excused, via Underdog’s James Palmer. Mike McDaniel told reporters Jalen Ramsey is not at mandatory mini camp, he is excused, and Jonnu […]

If the Pittsburgh Steelers were hoping for a smooth contract negotiation with their most valuable player this offseason, it doesn’t appear that is what they will get. T.J. Watt missed the voluntary portion of OTAs and is now reportedly set to skip mandatory minicamp. This is an escalation from his previous contract situation in 2021 […]
He hasn’t worked with him just yet, but Pittsburgh Steelers veteran tight end Pat Freiermuth can’t wait to get to work with new quarterback Aaron Rodgers and get down the nuances of the game between quarterback and tight end. Appearing on Cameron Heyward’s Not Just Football with Cam Heyward podcast, Freiermuth stated that being on […]
Cincinnati Bengals All-Pro edge rusher Trey Hendrickson, who has not received the new contract he has been looking for, is not attending the Bengals’ mandatory minicamp, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Hendrickson (35.0 sacks) and Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt (30.5) are 1-2 in the NFL in sacks the past two seasons. Neither one is attending mandatory minicamp. The two elite pass rushers are trying to gain leverage and put pressure on their respective teams.
Hendrickson and Watt will be subject to fines of $104,768 for missing minicamp this week. The fines go up with each day missed....
It’s hard to know what to expect from a player after they miss their entire rookie season with an injury. Calvin Austin III didn’t quite break out in his first healthy season and Cory Trice Jr. showed flashes but dealt with more injuries. It sounds like Roman Wilson is on a slightly different trajectory for […]
As one storyline ends in minicamp, another begins. Aaron Rodgers will attend his first Pittsburgh Steelers practice today, ending months of speculation of when he’d join the team. Instead, it’s outside linebacker T.J. Watt who won’t attend. Presumably frustrated by the lack of movement in contract talks as he seeks a long-term deal, Watt will […]
Aaron Rodgers hasn’t even donned a Pittsburgh Steelers’ helmet yet after signing late last week, and already a member of the Cleveland Browns is talking smack. That would be veteran cornerback Greg Newsome II, who has had plenty of run-ins with the Steelers over the years, most notably last season’s dust-up with former receiver George […]
Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro outside linebacker T.J. Watt will not attend the team’s three-day mandatory minicamp, which starts Tuesday at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex, according to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Watt, the Steelers’ star edge rusher and best player, has not been around the team since cryptically throwing up the deuces on Instagram a few months ago. He did not attend the two-week voluntary OTAs at all. Watt will be subject to $104,768 in fines if he skips all three days of the mandatory minicamp.
