The Pittsburgh Steelers now know when they must have their 53-man roster set by.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are going to have to part ways with many of their players a little bit sooner than they may have expected.
According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, the league has informed teams that this year’s cutdown deadline to 53 players will be 6 p.m. ET on Sunday, Aug. 30 instead of the following Tuesday, which it has been on recent years. Waiver claims will then be due at 1 p.m. ET on Monday, Aug. 31.
