This was a no-brainer for both teams and will be the best uniform matchup of the year.
The Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are celebrating 50 seasons in the NFL in the most awesome way possible.
When we last reported on the Seahawks making their Oct. 5 home matchup against the Buccaneers as a ‘50th Season Game’ celebration, this was our closing paragraph:
I don’t know whether or not double throwbacks are allowed by the NFL, but the only way for this 50th anniversary game to work is if the Buccaneers are also allowed to wear their classic...
Choose one candidate on offense and one on defense!
We had a pretty cool question brought up on Monday’s live stream episode of the HawksZone Rundown podcast. Myself and Ryan MacMillan predominantly focused on training camp previews but during the Viewer Q&A, Brendan Myers submitted this in the chat:
Which player do you expect to be most improved from last year on each side of the ball?
I hadn’t really thought about it much and at the time, I looked at the offensive line and eyed one of Olu Oluwatimi, Jalen Sundell, or Christian Haynes to make that step...
The Seahawks’ WR room is an intriguing and unsettled bunch.

What's next: Seattle Seahawks' sticky spot with draft picks - Seattle Sports
The Seattle Seahawks are apparently still waiting on their second-round picks to report, while those rookies are hoping for fully guaranteed contracts....
Well that was quick, wasn’t it?
Just as quickly as they were placed on the non-football injury (NFI) list, four Seattle Seahawks rookies are now off of it.
As reported on Tuesday, there were six Seahawks who reported for training camp and were subsequently put on the injured list. But as previously noted, there’s no reason to panic knowing that passing a physical is all that’s needed in training camp to be removed.
Here are the four Seahawks who are cleared for offseason activities:
Alfred Collins’ contract should result in many other second-rounders agreeing to terms imminently, including at least one of the Seahawks’ two remaining unsigned rookies.
At long last, a third player from the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft has signed. And unlike the previous two, his contract is not fully guaranteed.
The San Francisco 49ers have reportedly signed No. 43 overall pick and former Texas defensive lineman Alfred Collins to the standard rookie contract, but any thoughts about a new precedent being set across the board for all second-rounders can be put to rest.
The only reason this is...
Three Seahawks players in line for contract extension.
With NFL training camps beginning to open up across the league, many teams are starting to lock up some of their star players as they enter their contract year. Of those teams, the New York Jets have been quite busy, locking up new deals with star wide receiver, Garrett Wilson, and star cornerback, Sauce Gardner up the same day. These contracts are something to keep an eye on for Seattle Seahawks fans because Seattle has some star players of their own at both the wide receiver and cornerback positions who are entering...
After Artie Burns and Tre Brown signed elsewhere in free agency, Seattle brought back 2017 third round pick Griffin for a veteran presence in the secondary, and here are the details of his contract.
In the run up to the Seattle Seahawks reporting to training camp next week for the second season under Mike Macdonald, the team recently signed free agent cornerback Shaquill Griffin.
With that said, the details of the one-year contract the soon-to-be 30 year old Griffin signed with the Hawks ahead of the Fourth of July weekend have now been shared by OverTheCap.com, and are as follows:...
The Super Bowl Seahawks are still leaving their mark.
ESPN ranked the top 25 teams of the past 25 years, and the Seattle Seahawks had two representatives.
Everyone should be able to guess the years, and now that you’ve hopefully said 2013 and 2014, congratulations you’re right!
Before we get into the list, Seattle had three honorable mentions, including a shoutout to the team that lost to the 2005 Pittsburgh Steelers, a game that Bill Barnwell admits was ruined by “dismal officiating”.
For a quick NFC West roundup, the Arizona Cardinals had 0 appearances, wonder why; the San Francisco 49ers...
Julian Love’s second season in Seattle was a strong one.
When the Seattle Seahawks signed Julian Love, they expected a versatile defender capable of covering space in the secondary and providing stability downfield. What they received in 2024 was more than that: a player on the rise, who combined tactical intelligence, technical consistency, and a real impact in the season’s decisive moments.
With impressive numbers, visible improvement on the field, and growing mastery of defensive reads, Love has gone from being just a supporting player in the system to establishing himself as a central piece of Mike Macdonald’s defense. If...
Potential, depth, scheme-fits galore.

Former Notre Dame defensive lineman Rylie Mills was the only draft pick placed on the NFI list.
The Seattle Seahawks are a week away from their first training camp practice, but Tuesday marked the day for rookies to report to the team facility in Renton. Notably absent were Nick Emmanwori and Elijah Arroyo, neither of whom (much like almost every other second-rounder) has signed their contract yet.
To freak everyone out for one second, six rookies (including one draft pick) were placed on the Non-Football Injury (NFI) list.
Spoiler: There are not many good statistics about the Seahawks offense.
The 2025 edition of Aaron Schatz’s Football Almanac has published. This is the third year in a row that this goldmine of statistical information and advanced analytics has been published through the FTN Fantasy platform, where Schatz’s fabled DVOA metric resides.
As usual, I’ve gone through the Seattle Seahawks chapter (plus additional league-wide material) and jotted down some notable statistics and key points on either side of the ball. How bad was the offense? How good was the defensive improvement? What was up with that high special teams ranking...
