Maybe I shouldn’t admit it, but I’ve always been an Arnold Ebiketie guy.
Way back in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks headed into the second round with picks No. 40 and 41 with their eyes on a pass rusher. As you can probably guess, my personal preference was for Arnold Ebiketie out of Penn State. It seems like the Atlanta Falcons agreed with my assessment at that time as they traded ahead of the Seahawks to pick No. 38 and selected Ebiketie from right under John Schneider’s nose. Reading John Boyle’s wonderful behind-the-scenes article from that draft gives...

Is anyone else getting déjà vu right now?
On Tuesday, former Seattle Seahawks coaches Mike Holmgren and Chuck Knox were nominated as coaching finalists for enshrinement into football immortality. The Pro Football Hall of Fame Coach Blue Ribbon Committee will meet in November to vote on one finalist from a group of 12 coaches. From there, the committee will evaluate the candidacy of their chosen finalist, and if said finalist is chosen to move forward, they will be inducted into Canton in August.
In addition to Holmgren and Knox, this year’s selection of coaches consists of Bill Arnsparger, Bill Belichick,...

It’s the bye week for the Seattle Seahawks, meaning a relaxed weekend of football without the stress of “enjoying” a Seahawks game for Seattle fans.
However, even though the team is not on the field, the front office staff remains hard at work, especially with the trade deadline looming just over the horizon on Tuesday, November 4, after the conclusion of the Week 9 action.
With that in mind, the Seahawks on Friday made a move to fill the open spot created on the roster by the release Wednesday of veteran tight end Eric Saubert by dipping into free agency...

In my preview for this game, I wrote about why I thought this would be a tough game. The Seattle Seahawks managed to make it tough for themselves against the Houston Texans, but for other reasons. A strip-sack in the end zone, three turnovers, and still struggling in the running game.
The defense kept us in the game, and if it maintains this consistency, it could give us hope of reaching greater achievements for the Seahawks. There are mistakes to fix and areas that deserve attention during this bye week. It’s also an opportunity to strengthen the roster.
Could Seattle...

The Seattle Seahawks are steamrolling towards a quarterback controversy.
Well, if things continue at their current trajectory, it won’t be much of a controversy at all. But Seattle’s positioned itself for a very different future at QB than nearly anyone would have predicted six months ago.
“With the 92nd pick of the 2025 NFL draft, the Seattle Seahawks select Jalen Milroe, quarterback, Alabama.”
The Seahawks had traded Geno Smith, signed most-polarizing-figure of the offseason Sam Darnold, and now added Milroe as the developmental quarterback of the future.
I’m not sure why I’m telling you all this. If you’re here you...

The Minnesota Vikings have already lost as many games as they did all of the 2024 season, when Sam Darnold was their starting quarterback. J.J. McCarthy has been out since Week 3 and otherwise is 1-1 in his young career. Carson Wentz has deputized for him and the results have been as Wentz-ian as you might expect. Minnesota sits at 1-2 in Wentz’s starts and that one win is against the defensively impressive but offensively challenged Cleveland Browns.
As for Jim Harbaugh’s Chargers, a 3-0 start against the entire AFC West has given way to a 1-3 cold spell and...

On Thursday, the Washington Commanders announced that quarterback Jayden Daniels has been ruled out for the team’s Monday Night Football contest against the Kansas City Chiefs due to a recent hamstring injury. The Commanders will host the Seattle Seahawks at Northwest Stadium for Sunday Night Football in Week 9.
Daniels was taken out in the third quarter of Sunday’s 44-22 loss vs. the Dallas Cowboys, completing 12 of 22 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown and rushing for 35 yards and another TD before exiting with a hamstring strain. Per ESPN’s John Keim, [Commanders head coach Dan Quinn says...

The Seattle Seahawks are off this week, which is a good time for some rest and relaxation and maybe even some reflection.
At 5-2, the Seahawks are tied for the NFC West lead (but lose the tiebreaker to the San Francisco 49ers on the head-to-head). Only the Green Bay Packers have fewer losses than Seattle in the NFC, but it’s also an extremely congested conference in which it’s very possible that 10-7 will once again not be enough for a playoff berth. The standard for winning the NFC West may also be no fewer than 12 wins, which is probably...

The Seattle Seahawks rookies combined for 198 snaps in Week 7 versus the Houston Texans. That was the most so far this season. Gray Zabel and Nick Emmanwori had a significant impact, and Elijah Arroyo also played well, despite the “bad image” left by the fumble basically at the end of the game. Tory Horton hasn’t been producing in recent weeks but can still contribute, and we could see Robbie Ouzts return in the coming weeks.
All data used in this article was taken from PFF.
