Zach Charbonnet, Abe Lucas pop up on Seahawks’ initial Week 3 injury report

When head coach Mike Macdonald said on Monday that the Seattle Seahawks’ injury report “wasn’t as clean as we initially anticipated,” he wasn’t kidding.

Seattle’s initial injury report for its Week 3 home game against the New Orleans Saints runs nine players deep. The notable names to observe as running back Zach Charbonnet, outside linebacker Derick Hall, and right tackle Abe Lucas. Charbonnet did not practice due to a foot injury, whereas Hall got dinged up late against the Pittsburgh Steelers and was listed as limited with a hip injury, and Lucas was similarly limited with an elbow injury.

Seahawks make roster shuffle ahead of Week 3 matchup vs. Saints

As is often the case during the season, the Seattle Seahawks have made another 53-man roster/practice squad swap.

The Seahawks announced on Wednesday that they have signed wide receiver Cody White off of the practice squad and released cornerback Shaquill Griffin, who was subsequently signed to the practice squad to fill the spot that White had just vacated. Since Griffin is a vested veteran, he does not need to clear waivers before being added back to the practice squad. This move is the inverse of what the team did last week, when they released White, placed him on the practice...

Mike Macdonald: Injured Seahawks DBs won’t practice Wednesday

Through the first two weeks of the 2025 regular season, the defense of the Seattle Seahawks has largely lived up to the offseason hopes of fans, even with several potentially key members of the unit missing through the first two games.

Specifically, linebacker Uchenna Nwosu missed the season opener, while cornerback Devon Witherspoon and safety Nick Emmanwori were inactive for the win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2. Though the pair missed the win Sunday, early in the week ahead of the upcoming matchup against the New Orleans Saints head coach Mike Macdonald was optimistic that Emmanwori and Witherspoon...

Seahawks All-22 Review: The good and bad from the win over the Steelers

Seahawks All-22 Review: The good and bad from the win over the Steelers

The Seattle Seahawks got their first win of the season. The start was rough, and it looked like the Seahawks would let the win slip away after shooting themselves in the foot several times in the first half. A win is important in an away game against a team that’s tough to beat at home.

Let’s look at the All-22 and see what happened in last week’s 31-17 win. All data used in this article was taken from PFF.

Seahawks defense takes early lead as NFL’s best at affecting the quarterback

Seahawks defense takes early lead as NFL’s best at affecting the quarterback

That didn’t take long.

Mike Macdonald’s career as head coach of the Seattle Seahawks has only three halves to it. Some might say that’s bad math; I say it’s 150%. Which is pretty good!

The first half of 2024 began with a 3-0 mirage, cloaking atrocious deficiencies on the offensive line and certain spots on defense, namely linebacker. After jettisoning both starting linebackers near the bye week, Seattle became a different team in Macdonald’s second half; the back nine of the ‘24 season. Then, the Seahawks finished as a top-10 defense in most metrics over those eight games.

A reasonable...

Former first-round pick among 4 Seahawks tryouts

Former first-round pick among 4 Seahawks tryouts

There were no roster additions or subtractions to report for the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday, but we may see a new player or two later this week.

Per the NFL transaction wire, Seattle had the following players in for official tryouts:

  • OLB Shaq Lawson
  • S Darrick Forrest
  • CB A.J. Woods
  • T Chandler Brewer

The name that stands out the most is Shaq Lawson, who was a first-round pick back in 2016. After four decent but mostly unremarkable seasons with the Buffalo Bills, Lawson had short stints with the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets before returning...

NFL Week 3 odds: Seahawks are touchdown favorites vs. Saints

NFL Week 3 odds: Seahawks are touchdown favorites vs. Saints

Following a 31-17 road victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks are at .500 through the first two weeks of the 2025 season. Despite his two interceptions in the first half, Sam Darnold threw a pair of touchdown passes, including the game-tying score in the third quarter. Two TDs and a field goal later, the Seahawks left the Steel City with their first win of the year, the team’s first triumph over the Steelers since 2019.

Seattle’s next opponent is offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak’s old squad, the New Orleans Saints. New Orleans has had...

Seattle Seahawks national power rankings roundup, Week 3

Seattle Seahawks national power rankings roundup, Week 3

Last week, after the Seattle Seahawks lost to the San Francisco 49ers, many national media sites dropped Seattle further down their power rankings lists. However, how will that change now that the Seahawks are coming off of a 31-17 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers?

Last week, both NFL.com and Pro Football Talk (PFT) had the Seahawks ranked at 19. However, after defeating the Steelers by double digits, both sites have moved Seattle up into the top half of the league. The biggest move was with NFL.com, moving Seattle up five spots from 19 to 14. NFL.com notes this past week’s...

Seahawks Reacts Survey, Week 3: Will Seattle have a 100-yard rusher vs. Saints?

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Seahawks fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.

It’s a new week, which means it’s time for a new Seahawks Reacts survey! That confidence poll was down to 61 percent the week prior after the Seattle Seahawks lost to the San Francisco 49ers, but a key road win over the Pittsburgh Steelers figures to bump that number up this week.

This week’s opponent will be the New Orleans Saints,...

Seahawks All-22 Review: Seattle’s rookies make big impact vs. Steelers

The Seattle Seahawks rookies combined for 124 snaps in Week 2, just five more than in Week 1, but the impact was much more positive. More than half of those snaps came from first-round pick Grey Zabel, offensive lineman. This is the first time I’ve written this series of articles and we haven’t seen anything on defense with snaps.

All data used in this article was taken from PFF.

Let’s analyze some of the important plays from this game!
