New Orleans Saints vs. Tennessee Titans Game Recap

New Orleans Saints vs. Tennessee Titans Game Recap

Despite the loss, I’d say it was a win for New Orleans.

Yesterday, the New Orleans Saints played their final preseason game against the Tennessee Titans. While the team couldn’t get the win, I still think this was a great game by the Saints.

There were a couple of big storylines in play for New Orleans, the biggest of which being the battle for the backup quarterback spot. Alternating quarters, the competition between the Jake Haener and Spencer Rattler would reach its finale. Haener would get the start, and unfortunately wasn’t able to put any points on the board. Ailing...

Saints final 53-man roster prediction

Saints final 53-man roster prediction

There are a lot of hard decisions to be made.

Now that preseason is over, the New Orleans Saints face the most challenging decision a team can make: the final 53-man roster.

Quarterback (3)

Derek Carr, Spencer Rattler, Jake Haener.

No matter who wins the backup quarterback competition, both players should stay on the roster.

Running back (4)

Alvin Kamara, Jamaal Williams, Jordan Mims, James Robinson. (Kendre Miller IR)*

Throughout the preseason, Jordan Mims and James Robinson have been consistent and have been able to make impact plays during the games. Both running backs should make the final...

The good, the bad, and the ugly: Saints vs. Titans

The good, the bad, and the ugly: Saints vs. Titans

The 2024 preseason finale offered plenty to discuss as the season now gets underway.

The Good: Spencer Rattler

The New Orleans Saints rookie QB was all the rage in the Superdome on Sunday. Rattler completed 7 of 13 passes for 105 yards and a TD, while Jake Haener started the game and completed 8 of 17 passes for 87 yards on the first two drives. In my opinion Rattler should easily be the QB2 on this roster over Haener. All four of Rattler’s drives ended in points for the Saints on Sunday, while Haener only led the Saints to...

As some players guaranteed their spot on the roster, poor performances from others have opened questions.

Some players have excelled during the preseason, guaranteeing themselves roster spots, while others have created questions about their reliability and contributions to the team.

Up: Spencer Rattler

The New Orleans Saints looked strong throughout the game but just couldn’t finish it down the stretch.

What could’ve been-NOLA.com

Samson Nacua ran a missed field goal back 109 yards for a touchdown, or so we thought. The receiver stepped out at the three yard line in a play that he will both love and hate.

Expectations for the Saints defense in the final preseason game

I think the Saints defense is in for another good game on Sunday.

The New Orleans Saints will kick off their final preseason game on Sunday, August 25th against the Tennessee Titans. While the offense has all the eyes on them due to their need to improve from last season, the Saints defense has really been main attraction this preseason.

We knew the Saints defense was going to be good this year, but this preseason has only provided more and more hope that they could be a top 5 unit in 2024. They’ve held the 49ers and Cardinals to a...

Saints kicker Blake Grupe perfect in practice

And why he’s likely keeping his job.

In the 22nd practice of training camp, New Orleans Saints kicker had a perfect day, going 6/6 on his field goals. This was very much needed by him, as he’s in the midst of a kicking competition.

The highlight of the day for the kicker was his make from 55-yards, which was right down the middle.

This practice has pretty much solidified his spot on the roster. While the battle between Blake Grupe and Charlie Smyth is close, the tie typically goes to the senior player. It hasn’t been the best camp for...

Saints WR Cedrick Wilson Jr. continues to impress as roster cuts approach

The veteran receiver remains a strong candidate for the team’s open WR3 spot.

The New Orleans Saints added veteran WR Cedrick Wilson in free agency this offseason following the departure of former Saints WR Michael Thomas. At 6’2”, Wilson’s frame and skillset could help fill Thomas’ role as the team’s big-body slot receiver, as he is also an above-average blocker at the position.

During Saints HC Dennis Allen’s post-practice press conference on Friday, he emphasized the leadership and experience that Wilson provides for the rather young position group. With roster cuts looming, Allen pointed out the veteran’s willingness to block...
