The Los Angeles Rams are listing two offensive starters as doubtful to play against the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday Night Football, possibly opening the door for some others to prove worthy of more opportunities in the future. The Rams are probably going to be without tight end Tyler Higbee and right tackle Rob Havenstein, as players listed as doubtful have a 95% chance of not being active. That’s all but guaranteeing that Matthew Stafford won’t have his top tight end or right side protector on Thursday against the 49ers.
With Higbee most likely out of the game, rookie tight...
If the Los Angeles Rams have any interest in trading for quarterback Anthony Richardson, or if the Colts backup has any interest in heading west to play for Sean McVay, then that information would still be considered privileged because rumors of a connection that started on Wednesday are purely speculative. But there are rumors because ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler wrote that he could “sense” that Richardson would be open to playing for a coach “such as” Sean McVay. Not that either side is actually known to be interested.
Outside of that, there’s not a clear-cut need for teams, barring injury....
Kyren Williams was the most-used back in 2024, playing in over 81% of the team’s snaps. Surprisingly, this was actually a decrease from his usage in 2023. While Williams has earned those carries by finishing in the top 10 for rushing yards the last two seasons, there’s no way around the fact that wear and tear of that much output could potentially add up quickly. However, LA may not have to worry about that in 2025 with the emergence of second-year running back Blake Corum.
Over the past two weeks, Corum has seen an uptick in usage and has been...
Heading into the 2025 season, there were a lot of questions when it came to Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford. At 37 years old, he missed the entirety of training camp with a back injury. If there is one thing that doesn’t mix together well, it’s older quarterbacks and back injuries.
However, despite the back and some of the uncertainty around Stafford, he’s having his best start to a season since joining the Rams in 2021. On Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, Stafford threw for 375 yards which was his most in a single game with the Rams.
Through...
After grabbing a share of the NFC West lead this Sunday past, the Los Angeles Rams look to separate from one of the co-leaders in a Thursday Night Football matchup. On October 2, L.A. welcomes the San Francisco 49ers into SoFi Stadium for the mid-week tilt. Kickoff is set for 5:15 p.m. PST.
It’s three-team logjam at 3-1 atop the West between the Rams, 49ers, and Seattle Seahawks. L.A. got their share with a come-from-behind 27-20 victory over the previously unbeaten Indianapolis Colts. The ’Niners lost their Sunday game and sole possession of first place in the division, falling at...
Apparently my pick for Washington/Atlanta did make its way into the Week 4 picks, so I voided that game to avoid any discrepancy. Week 4 was another get right week; posting 10 correct picks and a … TIE (thanks a lot Green Bay). Week 5 will feature the first week in which we have teams on a bye week, four of them to be exact. So here are my picks for the Week 5 slate…
Week 4 picks: 10-4-1, Cumulative picks: 39-23-1

When you think of the Los Angeles Rams under head coach Sean McVay, offense immediately comes to mind. However, what tends to get forgotten is how good the Rams defense has been in certain years. While they’ve generally had an above average defense to do enough, there have been seasons in which the defense had to carry the load.
For example, under first-year defensive coordinator Brandon Staley in 2020, the Rams had the number one defense in the NFL. Staley’s defense ranked number one in several categories, including EPA per play, total yards allowed, and scoring. However, despite having the...
When the Los Angeles Rams host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Kyle Shanahan’s offense won’t be the only thing that they have to defend in primetime: Once again, the topic of the Niners having a “homefield advantage” in Los Angeles is going to be up for discussion. That debate is starting up on Tuesday with a report by Vivid Seats that 49ers fans will represent 61% of the attendance on Thursday.
Did the Rams give up their homefield advantage when they moved homes?
In L.A.’s last eight home games at SoFi stadium against the 49ers, the Rams have a...
Throughout the first three games of the 2025 season, the Los Angeles Rams were awaiting second-year edge rusher Jared Verse to take over a game. While Verse had strong moments to start the season, he had yet to eclipse five pressures in a game and over a 15 percent pressure rate. Again, that’s not to say that Verse had been bad, but he simply hadn’t had that elite-level performance that he showed he was capable of at the end of his rookie year.
That changed in Week 4 against the Indianapolis Colts. Verse may have only ended up with one...
Confidence in a team is always going to waver during a season because that’s the rollercoaster experience of being a fan. Especially in the NFL, where there are only 17 games and often each one of them matters. You’ve been watching the Rams this season, four games in total, and L.A. has reached 3-1 at the quarter-ish mark so are you more confident than ever that the team is headed in the right direction?
That’s what the confidence survey is for: Answer the poll below and then jump into the comments to share your thoughts. **[We had over 100 comments...
It’s the matchup we’ve all been waiting for, as the Los Angeles Rams face off against the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday night. The winner of this matchup will hold the early edge in the NFC West race. Oh, what fun!
Ahead of this highly anticipated affair, I spoke with Nicholas McGee from Niners Nation and asked him about how Kyle Shanahan and company have held down the fort early in the season, what the 49ers have done to replace Nick Bosa and more.
**Q – The 49ers began the year with several injuries, yet managed to jump out to...
If the L.A. Rams are going to pull off any midseason trades before the deadline, they could surprise fans with a deal for a player and a position that nobody is even speculating right now but isn’t that what Les Snead always does? That’s why I think that Ravens receiver Rashod Bateman checks a lot of boxes as a Rams trade acquisition before the deadline, so long as Baltimore is willing to listen to offers for a player who they don’t even use right; at a time when the team is sinking fast.
No, Batemen isn’t a guard or a...
