Quickly after Fernando Mendoza was made the No. 1 overall pick, the questions on how many teammates would be joining the Indiana Hoosiers quarterback on the Las Vegas Raiders arose.

As the seven rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft proceeded after the Silver & Black made Mendoza the top selection, nary another Hoosier was drafted.

Good start:

The Raiders should be thrilled with their opener. They host the Miami Dolphins in Week 1. It’s perfect. The Dolphins may not travel real well, so the Raiders may have a crowd advantage at Allegiant Stadium. Most importantly, the Dolphins’ are starting a rebuild and don’t have a lot of talent. This offseason has drummed up quite a bit of excitement surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders. Primarily because it’s about to be a new era in Las Vegas, as the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL draft, Fernando Mendoza, is set to take over as the franchise quarterback. We’re approaching the dead period in the NFL calendar, as the biggest news surrounding the league is the schedule release. Well, the release of the schedule release date and then the subsequent leaks that happen throughout the week to keep the headlines coming and draw out what should be a simple reveal, is going on too!

We all know how bad the offense was, but the problems wasn’t all on that side of the ball. The defense had big problems as well.
