There are seven new head coaches in the NFL in 2025 and two of them will meet in Week 11 when Pete Carroll and and Brian Schottenheimer’s teams face.
This a perfect time to look at how all seven teams are faring under their new leadership so far, presented in alphabetical order of the franchises:
Chicago Bears:
Ben Johnson was considered the top prize in this class and he is showing why. The Bears are 6-3 and tied for first place in the competitive NFC North. Yes, they’ve won a lot of close games, but why is that a bad...

Howell is an electric pass rusher providing an elite blend of athleticism, twitch, bend, and arm length that will translate to the NFL quickly. We use our Las Vegas Raiders’ Tuesday Community Question to explore many facets of the franchise.
Sometimes, we delve into the rich history of the organization. That’s where we went this week as we asked you to simply name a great Raider of the past.
As you know, I love Raiders’ history. The great names are endless. So, during tough times like this, it’s fun to remember the good ol’ days.

The 2-7 Las Vegas Raiders host the 3-5-1 Dallas Cowboys on Monday night. Here are five keys to game:
Take advantage of Dallas’ defense:
The Cowboys have a solid offense, but they are struggling because of a rough defense. Dallas has allowed 30 or more points in five of their game. That is staggering and it’s an opportunity. But, of course, Chip Kelly’s offense has been having its own problems. The Raiders have scored 10 points or fewer in four games. In Week 9, at Denver, they went seven possessions (spanning more than 28 minutes) without getting a first down....

The Las Vegas Raiders’ offense has struggled this season, to say the least. With high expectations to start the season, the offense flashed its potential in Week 1. Since that game, their explosiveness came to a screeching halt and now average 14 [points per game which is 31st in the NFL.
Their next matchup is against a Dallas Cowboys defense that is off to a rough start. The Cowboys are 31st in points allowed, averaging 30.8 per game, and it will be a test for the Raiders to get their offense going.
Pete Carroll spoke about the upcoming matchup on...

The Las Vegas Raiders held their first practice of the week on Thursday, preparing for their Week 11 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football. Subsequently, the Raiders also released their first injury report ahead of the matchup with the Cowboys, and got good news when it comes to quarterback Geno Smith and guard Dylan Parham.
Smith suffered a quad injury last Thursday versus the Denver Broncos, and told ESPN’s Ryan McFadden: “I’m not completely healed yet, but it feels a lot better.” Despite those comments, the quarterback wasn’t listed on the injury report, suggesting he was a...

Out goes Tom McMahon. And up steps Derius Swinton II to fill his shoes as interim Las Vegas Raiders special teams coordinator.
McMahon’s dismissal last week was, of course, warranted. The Silver & Black special teams group — normally insulated from the disarray besieged upon the offense and defense — joined in the fray of incompetence this season.
As a holdover from the Josh McDaniels staff in 2022, McMahon’s unit has been on the receiving end of lowlights to the opposition’s highlights. From blocked field goals to punts, to whiffed kicks, tackles, and getting torched by return men, special teams...

The Raiders sit at 2-7, there’s plenty of excuses, blame, and reasoning to go around on why they are sitting where they are. To start, the offense ranks 30th in yards/game, 27th in pass yds/game, 29th in rush yds/game, and 31st in points/game. On offense, they are downright horrendous, however it goes farther than that. Defensively the team ranks 19th in opponent yds/game, 20th in pass/yds game allowed, 14th in rush/yds game allowed, and 25th in points/game allowed.
Defensively they rank 32nd in EPA, DVOA, and have missed the most tackles so there’s that also. The Raiders have struggled to...

Las Vegas Raiders edge defender Charles Snowden doesn’t get talked about much because he’s more of a rotational player, but Snowden could be in for a bigger role moving forward. He only participated in 27 defensive snaps on Thursday night against the Denver Broncos, per Pro Football Focus, but he certainly made them count.
Snowden was third on the team with six total tackles, accounting for one of the Raiders’ two sacks, two out of four quarterback hits and a pass defended in Denver. Additionally, he registered three pressures on three pass-rush opportunities, just one behind Maxx Crosby for the...

The Raiders sit 2-7, the season is pretty much over in terms of having any shot at making the playoffs (not that much of one existed). Unfortunately, for what seems like the yearly ritual at this point the focus for Raiders fans should be on the off-season and where could the Raiders end up getting better. There’s speculation if Pete Carroll will return in 2026, and that will be solved after this season. Additionally, fans have not seemed pleased with GM John Spytek though I urge a little patience with the transition for first times general managers usually not being...

It feels like the Las Vegas Raiders and Dallas Cowboys always play on primetime or a standalone game when they face off, and the two teams will be featured on Monday Night Football in Week 11. We are also close to crunch time in our Silver and Black Pride Pick’em competition, as the end of the regular season is creeping closer!
