While adding an edge defender wasn’t a pressing or immediate need for the Las Vegas Raiders, general manager John Spytek went with a “best player available” approach to the third round of the 2026 NFL draft, selecting former Auburn pass-rusher Keyron Crawford 67th overall.

There was some speculation the Las Vegas Raiders would select some of Fernando Mendoza’s Indiana teammates after making him the N0. 1 overall pick in last weekend’s draft.

The speculation surrounded around wide receivers Omar Cooper and Elijah Sarratt and running back Kaelon Black. But, in the end, Mendoza was the only players from the Hoosiers’ first ever national championship team that was drafted by the Raiders.

The Las Vegas Raiders added depth to the secondary through the NFL draft. One of those draft picks was Treydan Stukes out of Arizona, who they picked in the second round to compete at the safety position.
