Pete Carroll fires Tom McMahon

There are starting to be consequences for the las Vegas Raiders’ poor start to the 2024 season under first-year head coach Pete Carroll.

The team has fired special teams coach Tom McMahon according to several reports. NFL media was the first to report it.

The Raiders’ special teams has been dreadful this season.

Their 10-7 loss at Denver on Thursday night was helped fueled by a blocked punt that setup the game-winning field goal and a missed Daniel Carlson field goal with less than five minutes to go.

The Raiders have allowed four blocked punts in the past two season,...

Lifeless Raiders offense against Denver Broncos puts Chip Kelly on hot seat

Another week, another loss and another miserable performance from the Las Vegas Raiders’ offense on Thursday Night Football against the Denver Broncos. With the Raiders putting up just seven points in Week 10, it’s only right to begin the winners and losers column by calling out the offensive coordinator.

LOSER: Chip Kelly

While the Broncos have an elite defense, the Raiders easily could have won this game had they scored more than seven points all night. The offense accounted for just 188 yards, while the unit’s best player, Brock Bowers, received just three targets. It’s even more frustrating that...

Raiders’ offense, special teams flounders yet again

What was once a steadfast strength is now a leery liability.

Such is the case for the Las Vegas Raiders special teams unit. And it’s apt to question why Tom McMahon remains in charge of that group in the desert.

With two struggling offenses but impressive defenses under the primetime spotlight in the Raiders matchup with the Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High Thursday night, the Silver & Black’s special teams gaffes proved to be a major difference between the two AFC West squads in Las Vegas’ 10-7 loss.

First came a blocked punt as Darren Rizzi’s Broncos...

Raiders-Broncos Thursday Night Football what they’re saying, Chip Kelly taking heat

Raiders-Broncos Thursday Night Football what they’re saying, Chip Kelly taking heat

The Las Vegas Raiders have played nine games during the 2025 season and have scored more than 20 points three times, and just once in their last five tries. Additionally, with the 10-7 loss to the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football, the Raiders have been held to single digits four times. What’s even more frustrating is that Las Vegas’ offense was coming off its performance of the season, putting up 29 points against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

As a result, offensive coordinator Chip Kelly is taking plenty of heat from the fanbase with their reactions to Thursday night’s abysmal performance,...

Don’t be fooled by close game that progress is being made

Don’t be fooled by close game that progress is being made

Remember when Thursday night games were awful?

Now you do.

The Las Vegas Raiders and Denver Broncos turned back the clock and proceeded to put together one of, if not, the worst NFL games of the season in a game that rudely reminded us of the early days of Thursday night slates.

The Broncos are the better team, thus they were able to overcome their major mistakes as the beat the floundering Raiders 10-7 on Thursday night.

The Raiders are now 2-7 and have lost nine straight AFC West games. They are awful under first-season coach Pete Carroll and Thursday...

Raiders lose in Denver in an all-time brutal NFL game

The Las Vegas Raiders are playing at the Denver Broncos on Thursday night. Here is everything to need to know about the game:

First quarter

Tyler Lockett caught a first down on third down for his first catch as a Raider on the opening drive. But the drive stalled after a penalty and a sack. Star Las Vegas punter A.J. Cole pinned the Broncos at their own 2 on a beauty of a coffin corner punt.

The Broncos ran the ball for nine yards and then punted from their 11. Great opportunity for the Raiders as a bad punt gave...

Las Vegas Raiders guard Jackson Power-Johnson is out for game

The Las Vegas Raiders are up early against the Denver Broncos, with the offensive line playing better than expected. However, that situation ended quickly on a third-down sack against Geno Smith.

Raiders guard Jackson Powers-Johnson suffered an ankle injury during the pass play. He limped off the field and was sent quickly to the locker room on a cart. Powers-Johnson was having a good game and helped Ashton Jeanty score a touchdown on a key block that gave him room for the score. Powers-Johnson is questionable to return. But the Raiders then ruled him out later the second quarter. Now,...

Raider Nation gains confidence heading into Thursday Night

Raider Nation gains confidence heading into Thursday Night

The Las Vegas Raiders are having a quick turnaround this week, playing on Thursday Night against the Denver Broncos. There were already changes to the roster with the trade of Jakobi Meyers to their previous opponent, the Jacksonville Jaguars.

John Spytek was able to acquire a fourth and sixth-round pick for Meyers. It gives the Raiders a total of 10 draft picks heading into the 2026 NFL draft, with plenty of ammunition to rebuild the roster. With three fourth-round picks, the Raiders have the flexibility to move around as well.

In this week’s SB Nation Reacts, we ask Raider Nation...
