The Patriots reportedly have made a pair of roster additions.
New England is signing defensive tackle Isaiah Iton and offensive guard Mehki Butler, according to a report from MassLive’s Mark Daniels on Monday. Both players were in Foxboro, Mass., on a tryout basis during rookie minicamp.
Iton landed with the Tennessee Titans practice squad last season after he went undrafted in 2024. The 6-foot-2, 294-pound defensive lineman overlapped with Patriots defensive line coach Clint McMillan when they were both in Tennessee.
Butler went undrafted after the 2025 NFL Draft. Butler started his collegiate career at Iowa Western Community College, being...
The Patriots were going to add a tight end during the 2010 NFL Draft one way or the other, Rob Gronkowski says.
Perhaps you’ve heard New England drafted Gronkowski with its second-round pick 15 years ago. Gronkowski only went on to become a five-time Pro Bowler, four-time All-Pro and three-time Super Bowl champion during nine seasons in Foxboro, Mass., after all.
If not for drafting Gronkowski, though, the Patriots apparently had their eyes on another Pro Bowl tight end: then-Chicago Bear Greg Olsen.
“I also heard through a grapevine that if I didn’t get drafted to the New England Patriots,...
Get ready to mark your calendars, Patriots fans, because the NFL is taking over the week yet again.
The league will reveal its official 2025 season schedule Wednesday night, but will announce select games through NFL broadcast partners throughout the week. NBC, FOX and Prime Video all will announce matchups Monday before ESPN (Tuesday), CBS (Wednesday) and Netflix (Wednesday) also take part in the prolonged production.
With that, Patriots fans likely will learn of select matchups before the official announcement so we’ve compiled a Patriots Schedule Live Tracker for all the latest reports and rumors.
But first, here’s a refresher...
The Patriots’ entire 2025 NFL Draft class was on display Friday outside Gillette Stadium, with one exception.
TreVeyon Henderson did not participate in New England’s first rookie minicamp practice of the offseason. It certainly was a noteworthy absence, as the second-round running back is poised to have a major role in the Patriots offense as a rookie.
There was no official word from the team about why Henderson did not take part in the session, but according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, the absence “wasn’t a major concern” for Mike Vrabel and company. The Patriots on Saturday also posted a video...
Both had been on hand for rookie minicamp at Gillette Stadium.
Rookie minicamp visitors will be joining the 90-man roster in Foxborough.
The New England Patriots are expected to sign offensive lineman Mehki Butler and defensive lineman Isaiah Iton, according to Sunday reports from KPRC 2’s Aaron Wilson and The Draft Network’s Justin Melo.
Both free agents had been at Gillette Stadium on a tryout basis.
Butler, 24, earned NJCAA first-team All-America recognition at Iowa Western Community College in 2020 before transferring to Arkansas State. After redshirting, the 6-foot-3, 310-pound guard proceeded to start 38 games for the Red Wolves...
Patriots undrafted rookie receiver Efton Chism III had options.
The Eastern Washington product reportedly went on six top-30 visits before the 2025 NFL Draft, including a meeting with Sean Payton’s Broncos. Denver also was among the teams which pursued the shifty slot receiver following the draft, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss.
Chism, however, chose to move across the country and chase a roster spot in Foxboro, Mass.
“… Coach Mike Vrabel personally calling Chism ‘made an impact on him,’ as did offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels’ track record of success with undersized receivers,” Reiss wrote in a column published Sunday, citing...
The Patriots spent on a player they wanted because said player was wanted elsewhere.
Efton Chism III, who reportedly signed the richest deal of New England’s 16 undrafted free agents, was responsible for a bidding war immediately following the 2025 NFL Draft.
ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported Sunday that Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos were among the other teams vying for the Eastern Washington product. Denver “made a strong pitch to woo Chism,” Reiss wrote.
Chism visited with six NFL teams on top-30 visits, including Payton’s Broncos. The Patriots did not request Chism come to Foxboro, Mass., for a top-30...

The 38th overall selection in this year’s draft was not spotted on Friday.
The New England Patriots’ drafted and undrafted rookies as well as multiple tryout players were back at Gillette Stadium on Saturday for the second day of their minicamp. Among them was running back TreVeyon Henderson, who had missed Friday’s session for undisclosed reasons.
While media was not allowed into WIN Waste Field House on Saturday, the Patriots confirmed Henderson’s presence on social media:
Henderson, 22, was selected 38th overall by the Patriots in last month’s draft.
A big-play threat as both a runner and a receiver at...
Will Campbell isn’t perfect, after all.
Campbell, who was selected by the New England Patriots with the fourth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, has quickly become a fan favorite since arriving at One Patriot Place. It’s hard not to root for the guy who wants to die for his quarterback, shows fierce loyalty to his teammates and has a funny accent.
It’s hard to defend what he said on Friday, though.
“I was surprised there’s trees,” Campbell said following rookie minicamp on Friday, per team-provided video. “I had never been anywhere up here before, so I always thought...
The New England Patriots brought aboard a beefy rookie class this offseason, and it’ll be a long time before we can truly pass judgment on it.
Mike Vrabel is pleased with the very early results, however.
Vrabel has been consistent with his messaging this offseason — a new development at One Patriot Place — insisting that his top priority is bringing the right kind of people into his system. The Patriots know that talent will ultimately be what gets the franchise back into contention, but the early stages of the rebuild put a heavier emphasis on leadership, character and culture....
The Patriots drafted a wide receiver in the third round of this year’s draft and gained praise from one legendary wideout.
Kyle Williams was an interesting pick for New England. There were other interesting options on the table, but his skill set could match Drake Maye, and he can be a dangerous weapon in Josh McDaniels’ offense.
Williams received notable praise from Steve Smith Sr. before and after the 2025 NFL Draft. The former All-Pro wide receiver compared Williams to himself, and the Patriots rookie reacted to the lofty comparison.
“It means a lot, honestly. Somebody I watched when I...
