Is there any more peak offseason content than talking about the offseason during the offseason? I don’t know, but that’s where we’re at. With about a month to go until the Packers open their 2026 training camp, we’re at the point in the offseason when it seems all that most national writers can write about is the offseason itself.
To wit, today’s top link, in which CBS Sports declares the Packers one of the NFL’s five biggest offseason losers, mostly on the grounds that they “lost” a bunch of players. I’m preaching to the choir here, but you know the...

Aren’t you glad you cheer for a team with a decentralized ownership structure with the ability to raise capital as needed? I know I am. Makes me happy.
The Chicago Bears, though. The Bears are owned by the McCaskey family, and their primary business is the Bears. They’re not owned by billionaires who made their money in finance or oil or insurance or AI, and sometimes that’s a good thing. While all rich people care mostly about becoming richer, the McCaskeys, I think, do care about football in a way that goes beyond “this is my rich person’s toy.”

It’s already been announced that the Green Bay Packers will have a joint practice with the Arizona Cardinals going into the final week of the preseason, but upon the announcement, it was interesting to me that the Packers only had one set of joint practices this year – as head coach Matt LaFleur has generally scheduled them against multiple teams each summer. Usually, their thought process has been to use starters in these more controlled joint practices while giving preseason playing time to backups and reserve players who weren’t involved as much in joint practices.
One reason that the Packers...

It’s time to turn our attention to the offensive line, the unit most Green Bay Packers fans have questions about on the offensive side of the ball. Before going into the line, though, read our previews on the quarterback, receiver and tight end positions, if you haven’t already.
At this point, the expectation is that the starting offensive line in 2026 will be Jordan Morgan, Aaron Banks, Sean Rhyan, Anthony Belton and Zach Tom (left to right). Each one of...

Much to the frustration of eager Packers fans, Green Bay spent much of first-round WR Matthew Golden’s rookie season bringing him along slowly. Injuries and a crowded receiver room limited his opportunities, and he finished the year with just 29 receptions for 361 yards and one touchdown. However, the team has taken many actions this offseason which suggest it expects — and may try to facilitate — a much larger role from the former Texas standout in his second season.
As Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated recently noted, Golden is one of several young players the Packers seem to trust...
