Three Green Bay Packers were non-participants in practice on Wednesday: receiver Dontayvion Wicks (calf), defensive lineman Lukas Van Ness (foot) and kicker Brandon McManus (quad). Wicks was injured in last week’s win against the Arizona Cardinals, while both Van Ness and McManus were held out of action for that game. Head coach Matt LaFleur stated that McManus will kick on Thursday, and also stated that he’s not optimistic that Van Ness will play this week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. So far, there’s been little to no news on Wicks’ health issues, which have caused him to drop out of two...

The last time Matt LaFleur’s Green Bay Packers faced off against Mike Tomlin’s Pittsburgh Steelers, the Packers lost 23-19 to a Kenny Pickett-led team that only threw for 119 passing yards on the day. In part, that was because the Pittsburgh defense held quarterback Jordan Love to just a 71.8 passer rating and forced him to throw two interceptions in the game.
Now, according to LaFleur, the Steelers’ defense is even better than it was in 2023. Here’s what he had to say about the Pittsburgh defense on Wednesday:
“You can definitely see, there’s some similarities between two years...

Throughout the week, Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur has been stating that the team is set to play the Pittsburgh Steelers, who just happen to have quarterback Aaron Rodgers, not playing Aaron Rodgers. Clearly, there’s an attempt to diffuse the talk about a potential revenge game, and that was reciprocated by Rodgers on Wednesday.
Rodgers was asked about his opinion on playing the team that drafted him back in 2005, and started his response with “I don’t have any animosity toward the organization.” Smiling, he said, “This is not a revenge game to me. I’m just excited to...

The Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers will be relatively unrecognizable when they face off on Sunday Night Football this week. Neither team will be wearing their classic uniforms, which, to me, is a little disappointing in a matchup between two massive brands.
The Packers will be wearing their all white “Winter Warning” uniforms, which debuted last season. They beat the Houston Texans and Seattle Seahawks in the look last year, and beat the Washington Commanders on Thursday Night Football in the all whites. Interestingly, that Seahawks win was the last time that the Packers played on Sunday Night Football...

In 2020, Electronic Arts extended its exclusive-rights deal with the NFL for the Madden video game series. The extension was through 2026. Much like an NFL contract, however, an in-season extension was expected for this year.
Insider Gaming reported back in July that a deal was in the works that included EA actually looking to drop the exclusivity within the contract. They would have a de facto monopoly to start, even with the contract not stipulating it. No other studio that could afford the cost of NFL licensing has a project in waiting that could be re-tooled with NFL branding...

I know Green Bay Packers fans are desperately searching for a potential trade candidate at either defensive tackle or cornerback to give this team a shot in the arm in the second half of the 2025 regular season. Thankfully, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler and Matt Bowen talked about the trade deadline this week and named their top 25 trade candidates as it stands today.
They also think there’s a possibility of one outgoing trade. Let’s knock through those candidates, specifically, and talk through their quotes about the players.
NONE. That’s right. NONE.
Almost no one is willing to...

In his pre-practice press conference on Wednesday, Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur stated that defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt will return to action today. Wyatt injured his knee in back-to-back games in Weeks 3 and 4, ultimately missing games in Week 6 and 7 after Green Bay’s Week 5 bye week. Since then, Wyatt has been a non-participant in practice.
We still don’t know exactly what Wyatt’s knee injury is, as the Packers haven’t disclosed that.
Without Wyatt or defensive end Lukas Van Ness (foot) last Sunday, Green Bay had to stretch its defensive line very thin. [Backup defensive...

On Sunday, Green Bay Packers defensive end Micah Parsons set a career-high with three sacks in the Packers’ 27-23 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Unsurprisingly, that dominant performance has earned attention from the NFL as a whole; on Wednesday, the league announced that Parsons has been named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for week 7.
Parsons officially recorded five total quarterback hits in the game and added another tackle for loss in the run game. He could have had four sacks as well, if not for being flagged for a hip-drop tackle on Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett on another...

The Packers’ win over the Cardinals has spawned no end of takes. It was a very Rorschach test of a game — people see what they want to see.
Without weighing in on the overall quality of the game or the win, here’s my perspective: this was a game where the Packers’ best players made big plays when it mattered most.
Micah Parsons got three sacks and had a fourth taken away by a penalty that has only been called three times since it was introduced. Josh Jacobs battled through illness and injuries to make a difference on every one...

If you thought that this might be the week that the Green Bay Packers would be underdogs in the eyes of the sportsbooks, think again. Yes, the Packers are on the road this week, and yes, they are playing a 4-2 team in the Pittsburgh Steelers — a team that employs one Aaron Rodgers at quarterback — but that’s not enough to get Vegas to see the Packers as underdogs.
In fact, the Packers open this week as 3.5-point favorites for the upcoming game, which gets top billing on the league’s schedule as the Sunday Night Football matchup. [That spread...

Folks, we’re rebranding. Instead of calling this series detailed snap counts, it’s going to be the Green Bay Packers’ depth chart update moving forward, as that’s probably a more accurate title. Below, we’ll go into where, why and how many times a player lined up in a certain spot for the Packers against the Arizona Cardinals.
As always, the cells below count all true football plays, including post-snap penalties and excluding kneels and spikes. The cells show how many snaps a player took at a position in each given week. Cells in yellow mean that a player dropped out of...
