On Sunday night, the Detroit Lions have one of their biggest games remaining on the schedule. A trip to the east coast to face off against the NFC-leading Philadelphia Eagles awaits. If the Eagles win, they’ll have commanding control of the conference, especially with head-to-head win over the Rams, Buccaneers, Packers (and Lions). If Detroit wins, they’ll notch a huge tiebreaker over Philly and could start eyeing the first overall seed.
Without a doubt, the biggest challenge the Eagles pose is their interior defensive line. The combination of Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, and Moro Ojomo pose a huge threat both...

“I guess we’re good again.”
That was a sentence said in the Detroit Lions locker room after their 44-22 victory over the Washington Commanders in Week 10. The Lions’ offense felt alive and moved like a well-oiled machine, never punting the football all game. The defense stood tall and made some key stops, and suddenly, this Lions team looked like themselves. Now, it’s time to move on and focus on who they have next, the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.
In a matchup everyone expected to be for the NFC title before the Lions fell to the Commanders last...

Sunday was a lot of fun. After weeks and weeks of consternation that the Detroit Lions’ offense had taken the step back that many had predicted this year, the team went out and laid 44 points on the Washington Commanders. They set a season-high in yardage, scored on all eight of their first drives, never punted, and sprouted a run game that has seemingly been missing all year.
The question now is: is this for real?
A change in play-callers can certainly make a difference, and it would be hard to argue that anyone has a better feel for this...

After their loss to the Detroit Lions, a frustrated Javon Kinlaw defended his teammate Daron Payne, who was ejected from the game in the second quarter after throwing a sucker punch at Lions receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.
“I just felt like in the moment we were being cheated, to be honest,” Kinlaw said. “Daron only retaliated because the refs literally saw the first punch, you know what I’m saying? I don’t blame him for the way he reacted, you know and tempers got to be flying.”
Kinlaw is referring a a scuffled that was not shown on the FOX broadcast...

We all know the results were outstanding when Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell took over play-calling on Sunday against the Washington Commanders. The Lions didn’t punt for the entire game, the offense put up a season-high 546 yards, the run game returned, and Detroit finally got Jameson Williams involved in a way that made sense.
But what exactly did Campbell do differently? Where could you tangibly see a difference between a Campbell-called offense and one called by offensive coordinator John Morton? That was a big topic of discussion on this week’s PODcast, which recaps the Lions’ 44-22 win over...

The Detroit Lions (6-3) dominated the Washington Commanders in Week 10, winning 44-22 after coach Dan Campbell’s decision to take over play-calling duties changed the dynamic of their offense.
“Let’s try something a little different,” Campbell said on Monday. “Look, I know what I want to do, I know how I want to do it. Now, that being said, this is a collaborative effort, now. I was taking input from (offensive coordinator) John Morton the whole time, and the other coaches. […] But I just wanted to change things up a little bit. Let’s just see if maybe a different...

Detroit Lions first round pick Tyleik Williams has seen his playing time take a significant dip since the return of Alim McNeill in Week 7. The rookie defensive tackle averaged 30.5 defensive snaps per game over the first six weeks of the season. His playing time over the last three games?
Obviously, the return of McNeill has a big reason to do with Williams’ decrease in snaps, but it is a bit curious as to why he’s repping behind backup nose tackle...

Many Detroit Lions fans were likely puzzled in the second quarter of the team’s Week 10 matchup against the Washington Commanders when kicker Jake Bates seemed to intentionally boot the ball out of bounds. The confusion probably only mounted when the officials spotted the ball at the Commanders’ 25-yard line. Under the new kickoff rules, kickoffs typically are placed at the 40-yard line when the ball goes out of bounds.
But the Lions knew of a interesting stipulation in the rulebook, and they were able to exploit the odd loophole twice in the game. Let’s break down what happened.

According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, the Detroit Lions are trying out rookie tight end Thomas Gordon (Gordon more or less confirmed the news on his social media page).
Gordon went undrafted this year, but spent rookie minicamp with the Chicago Bears as a tryout. After a month passed, he eventually joined the Bears and spent all of training camp with the team. He played in 18 offensive snaps in the preseason before being waived in the final roster cutdowns in August.
Prior to his professional career, Gordon spent six years at Northwestern. He was a consistent contributor on offense...

Jayden Daniels or not, that felt like a small slice of revenge for last season’s playoff upset — but more importantly, it gave the Detroit Lions and their fan base a much-needed confidence boost as they found their mojo again, manhandling the Washington Commanders, 44–22.
Dan Campbell looked every bit the dad at the local Applebee’s on a Friday night, grabbing his wife’s reader glasses to scan the draft beer list—and then called a game as masterfully as that same dad executes a perfectly timed “clear the ocean floor” announcement when the food arrives.
With Campbell taking over play-calling, Detroit...

With the Detroit Lions back on the top of the NFC North standings, they currently hold their own destiny to win their third-straight divisional title.
Week 10 wasn’t particularly kind to the rest of the division, resulting in the following standings through Week 10:
Here’s how each team fared this week:
Lions: Beat the Commanders comfortably with a 44-22 victory. Offense came back alive with Dan Campbell calling plays and the outcome was never in doubt.
Bears: Barely beat the Giants at home, 24-20. Overcame a 10-point fourth...

The Detroit Lions are back in their rightful place.
With the Green Bay Packers’ 10-7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on “Monday Night Football,” the Lions have slid right back into first place in the NFC North through 10 weeks of the 2025 NFL season. Here’s a look at the updated division standings.
The Lions are above the Bears in the standings, because they have the head-to-head tiebreaker based on Detroit’s Week 2 victory over Chicago. The Packers have now lost...
