Bringing your daily links to the NFL’s New York Jets
Good morning Gang Green Nation! We’re just five days away from seeing some New York Jets football now. On Saturday the New York Jets play the Green Bay Packers in the first of three Jets preseason games. This first game should mostly feature backups and backups to backups after a token appearance by the presumed starters. We’ll get our first chance to see a watered-down version of the new Jets schemes and the many young dudes jousting for positions on the depth chart.
13 days later the Jets preseason will...
Late last week superstar Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons requested a trade from the team.
If you haven’t been following this story, the extent to which the Dallas Cowboys have botched this situation has been truly staggering. Negotiating an extension with a player of Parsons’ caliber should be simple. He’s one of the handful of players in the league where a market resetting extension is still a good value. Instead, the Cowboys have dragged their feet and taken negotiations into public.
We have awards for players, coaches, and executives. There are currently no awards for owner performance. If there...

The Jets will be without a pair of starters.
Jets head coach Aaron Glenn announced that a pair of starters will miss time in training camp due to injuries.
The Jets don’t open the regular season until September 7, which is obviously a long way off. Had these injuries occurred a month from now, it might be worth getting a tad nervous. Both Williams and Simpson have plenty of time to recover, though. The Jets will clearly be cautious.
The injuries will keep both players out of the preseason opener against the Green Bay Packers next week, but it isn’t...
A big name could hit the market, but he won’t likely be coming to the Jets.
The big news in the NFL today is that Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin has asked for a trade.
McLaurin has been seeking a new contract to no avail. He began training camp by holding out. While he nominally ended his hold out a few days back by reporting to training camp, he has yet to practice.
The Jets have a glaring need at wide receiver. There is little behind Garrett Wilson at the position. That would make them a logical landing spot...
Bringing your daily links to the NFL’s New York Jets
Good morning Gang Green Nation! Terry McLaurin has requested a trade from the Washington Commanders. As has been the case all summer long, when a big name guy is rumored to be available, out come the stories about how the New York Jets might acquire them. And as has been the case all summer long, such stories seem to fundamentally misunderstand how the Jets have conducted business this offseason. The Jets do not appear to be interested in expensive, big name dudes who will be on the wrong side of...
It’s all on the rookie.
Over the last several decades, tight end has not been a position of abundance for the Jets. It certainly doesn’t look to be a spot where the Jets have great depth in 2025, but there is a promising rookie in the mix.
Mason Taylor
The Jets selected Taylor in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. In an ideal world, a second round tight end could start off as the number two or even number three player at the position. That would provide the player a chance to get his...
Taking a look at a Jets pass rusher
The Jets recently signed former Buffalo Bills edge defender Kingsley Jonathan. Today we break Jonathan down in detail.
The 27-year-old Jonathan is listed at 6’4” and 260 pounds and was undrafted out of Syracuse in 2022. He has played in 20 NFL games, 15 of which were with the Buffalo Bills, and has racked up 10 tackles, three quarterback hits and a tackle for loss. He has also spent time with the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans.
Background
Jonathan was a three-star high school recruit, who played outside linebacker and defensive end...
Bringing your daily links to the NFL’s New York Jets
Good morning Gang Green Nation! Rumors are out there suggesting the New York Jets are interested in signing guard Alijah Vera-Tucker to an extension. Both Vera-Tucker and fellow starting guard John Simpson are scheduled to become unrestricted free agents after this season. I wouldn’t mind seeing the Jets re-signing them both and keeping the offensive line intact for a while. However, the devil is always in the details, and the Jets may not be willing to offer both guards lucrative extensions. With plenty of other guys entering free agency next...
The DT is a big fan of some of his fellow Jets.
Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams had a bunch to say about his teammates this week, and it was all good.
Now let’s be clear. We are in the middle of training camp. Across the league, every team will sound like a Super Bowl contender if you ask them.
One of the ways I find useful to separate the tangible from the fluff in training camp is to listen for specificity. It’s easy to say something totally generic like, “This guy is great. He works so hard.”
In this...
Taking a look at a Jets offensive line prospect
The New York Jets recently signed former Jaguars offensive lineman Samuel Jackson. Today we break Jackson down in detail.
The 26-year old Jackson is listed at 6’5” and 325 pounds and started 46 games in six seasons at UCF before going undrafted in 2023. He was released in final cuts by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2023 and the CFL’s Ottawa Redblacks in 2024 but started nine games for the Houston Roughnecks in the UFL earlier this year.

Jackson was a three-star high school recruit, who headed to UCF in 2017...
