Good morning Gang Green Nation! The New York Jets have just north of $25 million in current available cap space, and they will add almost $23 million to that figure on June 2, 2025, when the post June 1 cuts kick in. All that cap space has led to some speculation that the Jets will soon sign Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner to monster extensions. That could soon come to fruition, but I’m not convinced it’s inevitable.

I have been wondering for some time whether the Jets would have McDonald put on bulk.

After a solid second season, Joe Tippmann seemed locked in as the starting center for the Jets for the foreseeable future. The Athletic’s Zach Rosenblatt suggests this might not be the case.

There could be a legitimate competition at center between Joe Tippmann and free-agent signee Josh Myers — something general manager Darren Mougey alluded to at the league meeting in March. “Those guys are battling their asses off right now, just competing,” guard John Simpson said. “They both are super intelligent and just fighting. You made it to the weekend after a long work week. The Jets can say the same. They kicked off their OTAs this past week. As far as offseason practices go, this was eventful. There was plenty of news, mostly from what was said to the media. At the top of the list, Garrett Wilson stated that he wants to spend his career with the Jets. Hopefully this is a sign a contract extension is on the horizon.

In case you missed it, earlier this week the NFL had a vote to ban the “tush push.”

Of the 32 teams in the NFL, 22 voted to ban it. However, the rule change requred 75% of teams (24 of 32) to vote for a ban. Thus the “tush push” remains legal in 2025.
