Less than 24 hours after heavily tweaking their practice squad, the New York Giants were back at it, signing tight end Jordan Murray.

Eli Manning’s divisive Pro Football Hall of Fame candidacy takes another step forward

As a player, Manning never found controversy — his HOF candidacy, though, is certainly that

A contentious back room debate over whether or not former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning will be a first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer moved one step closer this week as Manning was selected as one of 25 semifinalists for the Hall of Fame Class of 2025.

This is Manning’s first year of Hall of Fame eligibiity. Six other first-time eligible players also reached the semifinal stage. They are linebacker Luke Kuechly, Eli Manning, defensive end Terrell Suggs, safety Earl Thomas, placekicker Adam Vinatieri...

Should Giants send Daniel Jones home for remainder of season?

Should Giants send Daniel Jones home for remainder of season?

The New York Giants have benched Daniel Jones, effectively ending his career with the team and they do not plan to put him back on the field under any circumstances.

Head coach Brian Daboll announced the move on Monday which included the elevation of Tommy DeVito from No. 3 emergency quarterback to the starting role and the announcement that Dew Lock would continue as the primary backup.

On Tuesday, the team signed veteran backup Tim Boyle to the practice squad. It is assumed that Boyle will now become the Giants’ No. 3 and/or emergency quarterback going forward.

That leads to...

How Giants respond to Daniel Jones-Tommy DeVito switch critical for Joe Schoen, Brian Daboll

Joe Schoen, Brian Daboll need this to work

The New York Giants have a game on Sunday, hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 1 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium. That, though, isn’t really the big story of the week.

The real thing to keep an eye on this week is the mood of the players and what they say after the announcement that former third-string undrafted free agent Tommy DeVito will replace Daniel Jones as the team’s starting quarterback.

This is a dangerous time for GM Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll as they try to navigate a 2-8...

Former NFL executive would ‘put my stamp’ on Giants GM Joe Schoen, coach Brian Daboll

Should this decision-making duo be trusted to find the next quarterback for the Giants?

Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll have moved on from Daniel Jones. Whether they are the GM and head coach tandem that gets to pick the next New York Giants quarterback remains to be seen. One long-time NFL executive has come out strongly in favor of just that, telling the ‘Valentine’s Views’ podcast he would “put my stamp” on the Schoen-Daboll duo.

“I think they’re good football people and I would tell Giants fans this — I have been around a lot of GMS, a lot of...

Gimme Him: One player Giants would steal from Buccaneers

The New York Giants (2-8) will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-6) at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Sunday afternoon.

That, of course, provides those of us here at Giants Wire the opportunity to hypothetically steal from the Buccaneers’ roster in search of depth and/or talent upgrades for Big Blue for the second time this season.

In going over Tampa Bay’s roster, there doesn’t appear to be an abundance to choose from. Most of the Bucs’ top stars play positions the Giants aren’t in desperate need to improve.

Options include offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs, wide receivers Mike...

Michael Strahan makes emotional case for Tom Coughlin's HOF bid

Michael Strahan makes emotional case for Tom Coughlin's HOF bid

Once upon a time, New York Giants legend Michael Strahan considered retirement because the alternative was playing another season under hard-nosed head coach Tom Coughlin.

Strahan ultimately returned to find that Coughlin was a new man. On the advice of his late wife, Judy, the disciplinarian showed a softer side and his players responded in kind.

Coughlin was still very much an old-school head coach who demanded greatness and accountability from the men he led, but there was a personal bond that formed and a respect that was shared.

What occurred after that is a matter of history. The Giants...

Mark Schlereth on Daniel Jones benching: 'This is why the Giants suck'

The New York Giants are once again the laughingstock of the NFL and their demotion of quarterback Daniel Jones hasn’t gone over like they had hoped.

Players are angry and confused with the decision, while experts and analysts from around the league continue to criticize general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll’s handling of the situation.

In the mind of retired NFL offensive lineman and current FS1 analyst Mark Schlereth, this is just another example of a failing franchise.
