Many in the New York Giants fan base, probably even a majority, wanted general manager Joe Schoen fired after a two-year stretch that saw the Giants go 7-27. Voters in a poll here at Big Blue View seem to believe by a wide margin that ownership made the wrong decision by retaining Schoen.
Schoen seemed to understand on Monday during an end-of-season press conference some organizations would not have given him the opportunity to conduct after compiling a 22-45-1 record and having his hand-picked head coach be fired that he was fortunate to work for a franchise that craves stability....

These meaningless final games of the season for losing teams that are about to move in a different direction don’t offer much in the way of insights for the future. We’ll do a quick look at Pro Football Focus grades for the New York Giants’ 34-17 victory over the Dallas Cowboys anyway just to see who left a good final impression on the people at 1925 Giants Drive who will be trying not to throw the baby out with the bathwater in re-tooling the roster for the 2026 season.
First, the offense as a whole:...

The New York Giants began the work of constructing the 90-man roster they will bring to OTAs in a few months by signing six players to reserve/futures contracts on Monday.
Signed were:
Bozeman, who bounced from the practice squad to the active roster a number of times in 2025, played in six games for the Giants. He played 35 snaps on defense and 104 on special teams.
Conner, a four-year veteran, played in nine games this...

The New York Giants ended their dismal 2025 season with consecutive wins, bringing their record to 4-13. They will select fifth in the 2026 NFL Draft, and Joe Schoen will be retained as the team’s general manager. One reason for Schoen’s retention is the nucleus of young talent assembled on the roster.
Schoen built on his solid 2024 draft with another quality class in 2025. This, of course, came after a horrific 2023 effort and a bad 2022 draft class relative to the capital. Nevertheless, the Giants believe they have a bright future that the right leader can steer out...

New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers, rehabbing from a torn ACL, said Monday he is “not really sure” if he will be ready to play when the 2026 season starts next September.
“If my body doesn’t feel right then I’m not gonna go out there,” Nabers said.
“Target date is when my body feels ready to be out there.”
The star wide receiver, who tore his ACL in Week 4, said he is “right on track” in the rehab process.
Nabers said backup quarterback Jameis Winston has helped him since the injury occurred.
“I kept asking him ‘why it...

Joe Schoen will continue as New York Giants general manager despite a 13-38 record over the past three seasons, 7-27 the past two years. The Giants announced the decision on Monday morning.
Giants’ co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch released the following statement:
The 2025 season has been deeply disappointing, and the results on the field have not lived up to the standard this organization and our fans expect.
As previously stated, Joe Schoen will remain our General Manager and continue to lead our football operations and the search for our next head coach. Continuity and stability...

The Cleveland Browns have fired head coach Kevin Stefanski. In doing so, they may have provided the New York Giants with the top candidate in their own coaching search.
Rumors have been swirling for days that Stefanski could be fired, with reports coming in from ESPN, The Athletic, the NFL Network, and NBC Sports. It’s widely anticipated that he will immediately top every team’s list of available candidates and has already been called an “ideal candidate” for the Giants’ opening.
Stefanski’s tenure as the Browns coach has come to an end after six temultuous years. The two-time Coach Of The...

The 2026 offseason is here for the New York Giants, and with it the lead up to the 2026 NFL Draft.
Now that the draft order of the first 18 picks has been set, The Ringer draft expert Todd McShay released his first mock draft of the off-season early Monday morning.
The Giants will hold the fifth overall pick thanks to their 4-13 record as well as wins by the Cleveland Browns and Washington Commanders. McShay

The New York Giants can begin lining up interviews for their head-coaching vacancy on Monday. Will Kevin Stefanski be available? John Harbaugh? Mike Tomlin? We will know soon.
The more we discuss potential head-coaching candidates for the Giants, the more it becomes clear that among currently available coaches there is no perfect, slam-dunk choice. The few guys who might be are all coaching other NFL teams right now.
With that in mind, I wanted to look at the categories I believe are most important for the next head coach. I have identified four. Within each are probably sub-categories I am...
