‘Man of the people’ Greg Van Roten is confident in the Giants’ offensive line

Van Roten thinks the Giants’ young linemen will take a step forward this year

The New York Giants were back on the practice field on Wednesday, giving us our first look at what will eventually become the 2025 team.

While the quarterback position got the most attention, there’s still plenty of interest in the Giants’ offensive line.

And while the Giants will have some new faces in their offensive line room, 35-year old guard Greg Van Roten is of the familiar faces from a year ago.

“I was hoping to come back,” Van Roten said. “I was glad that conversation...

Jaxson Dart’s first-team reps, more notes from New York Giants OTAs

Jaxson Dart’s first-team reps, more notes from New York Giants OTAs

Malik Nabers has a toe, Evan Neal is a guard, Jameis Winston is ... well, Jameis, and more from practice

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Head coach Brian Daboll said on Wednesday that the New York Giants have “a detailed plan” for how they will divide practice reps among their four quarterbacks, most importantly veteran starter Russell Wilson and probable future starter Jaxson Dart.

“They’ll all get reps at various spots,” Daboll said before practice.

Connor Hughes of SNY did the math on what the plan looked like during Wednesday’s OTA, the first one media had access to, so that math-challenged...

Malik Nabers not practicing for Giants due to toe injury

Updating injuries as 2025 practices are underway

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The New York Giants had perfect attendance on Wednesday for their second OTA of 2025. A very important Giant, though, only stood and watched.

Wide receiver Malik Nabers, who had a franchise record 109 receptions as a rookie last season, did not practice due to a nagging toe injury.

“We’re being mindful of his toe that he’s had,” said head coach Brian Daboll. “Nothing serious but we’re being smart with him in terms of the rehab part of it.”

Daboll said that Nabers, the Giants’ first-round pick in 2024,...

2 New York Giants ranked among league’s top 32 edge defenders

2 New York Giants ranked among league’s top 32 edge defenders

One of them might surprise you

With Abdul Carter, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, joining Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux the New York Giants should have one of the best edge defender groups in the NFL during the upcoming season.

A recent ranking by Pro Football Focus of the top 32 edge defenders in the NFL reflects that. Burns checks in at No. 16 and, before having played a down in an NFL game, Carter is ranked No. 20.

Of Burns, PFF says:

Burns’ first season in New York was a success, as he...

Better or worse in 2025? New York Giants defensive line

Better or worse in 2025? New York Giants defensive line

Giants have added beef this offseason

Dexter Lawrence is one of a kind, a human wrecking ball who does things no 340-ish pound man should be able to do. Some people believe the New York Giants’ Pro Bowler is the best defensive tackle in football.

As great as he is, though, Lawrence cannot be a one-man defensive line. He also cannot play every snap of every game for 17 weeks.

It was painfully obvious last season that, after losing veterans Leonard Williams and A’Shawn Robinson from the defensive line and not truly adding any significant players, Lawrence did not have...

Could Jaxson Dart start more games than Russell Wilson?

Could Jaxson Dart start more games than Russell Wilson?

ESPN analyst projects that Dart will play more than Russell Wilson

When first-round pick Jaxson Dart will become the starting quarterback for the New York Giants is a matter of great debate. Could it be Week 5 against the New Orleans Saints if the Giants start the season 0-4? Could it be some time in the second half of the season? Could Dart just get a late-season cameo start? Could his time as the starter wait until 2026?

Nobody, not even head head coach Brian Daboll, knows for sure.

Starting quarterback Russell Wilson’s performance, the Giants’ overall competitiveness, Dart’s progress...

Is Week 1 a must-win game for the Giants?

Is Week 1 a must-win game for the Giants?

Their history since their last Super Bowl says so

The 1986 New York Giants did not get their season off to an auspicious start, losing 31-28 at Dallas in their opening game. After a 21-0 playoff embarrassment in Chicago to end their previous season, it was not what fans were looking for. That team turned out OK, though.

Things were even worse in 2007, when a Giants team coming off two consecutive one-and-done playoff seasons suffered two embarrassing losses in which their supposedly elite defense gave up 45 points to Dallas and 35 points to Green Bay in their first...

Giants Mailbag: Jalin Hyatt ‘checked out’?

A lot of this falls on Hyatt, though. He mentally checked out at points last season after clashing with the coaching staff and upper management. There was no reason he should have been as uninvolved as he was at points last season. He’s a player with a skillset that the Giants should be able to use....

Summer Scouting: Francis Mauigoa, RT, Miami

Summer Scouting: Francis Mauigoa, RT, Miami

Could Mauigoa already be on the Giants’ radar?

The offensive line is an evergreen topic for the New York Giants. They have sunk a tremendous amount of resources into finally fixing the line, only to deal with injury and disappointing play on an annual basis.

It’s likely that the Giants will once again be looking to reinforce their offensive line in the 2026 NFL draft. Miami right tackle Francis Mauigoa could be of particular interest, given how unsettled the right side is for the Giants.

The right tackle position could be one of legitimate need with Evan Neal moving inside...
