Deion Sanders defends Shedeur’s preparation for meeting with Giants

Prime Time says “my kids are built for everything”

There were a number of reports before the 2025 NFL Draft that the New York Giants soured on the idea of drafting quarterback Shedeur Sanders after an ill-fated meeting with Giants head coach Brian Daboll.

Now, Sanders’ father, NFL Hall of Famer and Colorado football coach Deion Sanders, has hit back at the idea that Shedeur would not have been prepared for a meeting with any NFL coach.

“When you sit up there and say something like he went into a meeting unprepared, like, dude,” continued Deion. “Shedeur Sanders? Who...

So, Odell Beckham Jr. never wanted to leave the New York Giants

So, Odell Beckham Jr. never wanted to leave the New York Giants

Then, he would have been well-advised to have acted like he wanted to stay

I was not going to write about Odell Beckham Jr.’s recent “never, ever wanted to leave the New York Giants” comment. Feelings about Beckham’s time with the Giants are deeply entrenched among fans, and reopening that conversation isn’t going to change any minds.

Beckham, however, went there. And the reaction to the opinion I posted Sunday evening on YouTube tells me it is a a topic Giants fans want to discuss. So, here we are.

You can watch the full 15-minute podcast below for everything I...

Better or worse in 2025? New York Giants cornerbacks

Better or worse in 2025? New York Giants cornerbacks

Paulson Adebo signing is biggest reason the Giants should be better at this position

The New York Giants did not have a No. 1 cornerback capable of matching up with the best receiver on opposing teams in 2024. They did not have enough playmakers, or at least did not make enough plays as Giants cornerbacks intercepted only three passes in 2024. Their highest-graded cornerback in terms of passer rating against — Cor’Dale Flott with a 90.0, per Pro Football Focus — was 48th among 127 qualifiers.

The Giants replaced defensive backs coach Jerome Henderson with Marquand Manuel during the offseason....

Can Brian Daboll succeed where others have failed with Russell Wilson?

Can Brian Daboll succeed where others have failed with Russell Wilson?

That depends more on Wilson than Daboll

New York Giants fans, as well as the media, have understandably focused much of their attention on the Giants’ rookie quarterback, Jaxson Dart. In a way, though, that’s odd because the Giants also brought in veteran quarterback Russell Wilson, who has a Super Bowl ring, almost had another, is a good bet to make the Hall of Fame, and is likely to be the starting QB in Game 1 this year.

If you doubt Wilson’s HOF chances, take a look at the Pro Football Reference Hall of Fame Monitor. This formula weighs a...

Giants named a potential trade suitor for Atlanta Falcons’ TE Kyle Pitts

Giants named a potential trade suitor for Atlanta Falcons’ TE Kyle Pitts

Is this a deal you would make?

If Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts truly is on the trade block, should the New York Giants be among the suitors?

Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports reports that the Falcons have been listening to offers for the No. 4 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, and that a Day 2 pick might pique the Falcons’ interest.

Is Pitts, whose production has declined dramatically since a Pro Bowl rookie season that saw him gain 1,026 receiving yards, worth giving up a Day 2 pick for? Should the Giants be interested?

CBS Sports’...

What if the Giants had replaced Daniel Jones with Justin Herbert in 2020?

What if the Giants had replaced Daniel Jones with Justin Herbert in 2020?

How much different might the last few seasons have been, and how different would they look today, if the New York Giants had been able to draft Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert in 2019? Or, even in 2020?

Herbert was the apple of then-GM Dave Gettleman’s eye in 2019. He was in love with Herbert long before falling in “full-bloom love” with Daniel Jones before the 2019 NFL Draft. The Giants watched Herbert play at least six times in 2019. Herbert spurned the Giants and the 2019 draft, though, choosing to remain at Oregon for one more season.

The Giants, knowing...

New York Giants’ Dexter Lawrence ranked as No. 2 DT in NFL

New York Giants’ Dexter Lawrence ranked as No. 2 DT in NFL

Pro Football Focus says only Chris Jones of Kansas City is better

When we write about Dexter Lawrence, we often mention that some consider the New York Giants star to be the best defensive tackle in football.

Well, according to Pro Football Focus, Lawrence is close to that. In its 2025 interior defensive line rankings, PFF has Lawrence as the No. 2 defensive tackle in the NFL behind Chris Jones of the Kansas City Chiefs.

PFF says:

Lawrence logged only 550 snaps in 2024 due to some missed time, but he recorded an 89.0-plus PFF overall grade (89.9) for...

2025 Summer Scouting - Nyck Harbor, WR, South Carolina

2025 Summer Scouting - Nyck Harbor, WR, South Carolina

Will Harbor realize his athletic upside?

The New York Giants could target a wide receiver at the top of next year’s draft, and adding another explosive athlete to pair with Malik Nabers would certainly be attractive.

So with that in mind, we’re starting this year’s Summer Scouting series with arguably the freakiest athlete in the country at any position and any level.

South Carolina wide receiver Nyck Harbor possesses the rare kind of athleticism that’s normally reserved for video game characters. He holds the distinction of being the first freshman to headline Bruce Feldman’s annual “Freaks List” back in 2023,...

Make or break: Can Cor’Dale Flott become a long-term piece for the secondary?

Make or break: Can Cor’Dale Flott become a long-term piece for the secondary?

Will Flott earn a second contract?

The New York Giants have invested heavily in their defense over the last couple years.

They’ve added high draft picks and talented free agents to try to turn the unit into one of the best in the NFL. The Giants’ defense has had good players for years now, however it’s also been top-heavy, with little depth behind their starters.

The secondary was always of the biggest concerns, and depth can be key. Not only have the Giants been thin on the back end, but the secondary always has to deal with attrition over the...

The mail’s here!

Martin asks: All this talk about the new defensive rookie players but we haven’t heard how Dexter Lawrence elbow surgery is coming along. For a man that uses his arms 99% of the time, this may have an impact on his rushes, yes?

Ed says: Martin, Lawrence is fine. Lawrence had a dislocated elbow that did not require surgery. He participated in events during the Pro Bowl games in February, which he would not have done if there were any risk. He was on the field doing individual drills on Wednesday when media had access to practice....
