The 2026 Dallas Cowboys schedule came out last week and as it did travel plans were set in motion among many of us. Having the schedule makes everything more real, and given that it occurred after the NFL draft and (obviously) free agency this year, it was the last major milestone to cross before the doldrums of the offseason set in.
Simply put, all major things that can happen before next season begins have happened.
Having the schedule also makes predicting the games easier, or at the very least more fun. We knew since last season ended who and where...

I’m not saying the Cowboys need to go hunting for a controversy the size of Brendan Sorsby.
The only controversy would be the gambling issue because he would not be coming in to take Dak Prescott’s job. We can squash that potential storyline.
Dak Prescott is the guy.
What I am saying is the Cowboys should always be in the market for quarterback value, and the NFL Supplemental Draft could give them a rare chance to take a swing on a high-end developmental quarterback.
Brendan Sorsby’s situation is not normal. He transferred to Texas Tech after a strong season at...
Is Michael Trigg the UDFA most likely to make the Cowboys 53-man roster?
The reality is that when OTAs come around, we football fans tend to be a little bit overexcited about the whole thing. Sure, it’s an important time for teams, Dallas Cowboys included. But position battles don’t get sorted out until training camp.
And yet, it’s a great opportunity to hear from players and coaches, as well as...

Reddy Steward has already gotten over one hurdle in 2026, surviving the purge of “Matt Eberflus guys” from the Cowboys staff and roster. Re-signed this offseason, Steward hopes to impress the new defensive coaches and fight his way back onto the team for another run.
Years in NFL: 2
Acquired by: Waiver claim (2025)
Undrafted out of Troy in 2024, Steward’s first NFL job came as an undrafted free agent with the Chicago Bears in 2024, then coached by Eberflus. He spent most of the year on their practice squad, but the Bears did call him up to...

After being acquired via trade from the Pittsburgh Steelers last year, George Pickens proved to be one of the best wide receivers in the entire league, catching 93 passes for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns. His dominance in 2025 made him a first-time Pro Bowl player in the final year of his rookie contract, but still it wasn’t enough to earn a long-term contract, at least not yet.
As we all know now, Pickens will play out the entire 2026 season under the $27.3 million franchise tag, with a chance to hit the open market again next year. What his...

The Dallas Cowboys enter the season with a stable, reliable offensive line. The organization knows everything starts up front, which is why the team has spent three first-round picks on offensive linemen over the last five drafts. With so much invested, the team is sitting in good shape up front, and people are starting to notice.
Recently, ESPN senior writer Mike Clay offered up some scores for every starting offensive lineman for every team. These scores are calculated by a mix of advanced stats and on-field performance metrics. He looked at block win rates alongside PFF grades to see how...

At irregular intervals over the last decade or so, we’ve tried to project the playing time of Cowboys rookie classes by estimating what percentage of total snaps would be taken by the rookie class, an exercise that met with varying degrees of success.

And we’ll try to do it by looking at...

With the Dallas Cowboys transitioning from a disappointing 2025 season that was defined by a porous defense, it appears they have made changes for the better that will have them competing for an NFC East crown, if not more. Dallas has changed its defensive philosophy and bolstered that side of the ball with numerous additions.
That sounds good because the offense is expected to be as potent as it has been the last few seasons under Dak Prescott’s direction. Yet, for as optimistic as the Cowboys can always be, you can never get too comfortable. We’ve been burned before.

The Dallas Cowboys running back rumors are starting to heat up, and I understand why. Alvin Kamara and Nick Chubb are in the Cowboys rumor mill.
Nick Chubb is easy to connect to Dallas because of the Brian Schottenheimer angle. Anytime a head coach has coached a player in a past stop, this time being the University of Georgia, the noise is a little louder.
Chubb is a physical runner, Schottenheimer wants Dallas to be tougher and the Cowboys could still use another reliable back in the room.
Then there is Alvin Kamara.
Kamara’s name is floating around because [he...
With the offseason in full swing, we have plenty of downtime to take a unique look at some things about the Dallas Cowboys.
One of them got me thinking. The defense improved. That isn’t up for debate and the defensive line looks very good, but some parts of the defense still have a question mark.
The Dallas Cowboys are gambling on the health of a few players that should be started in 2026, and if they go down, it might be an issue.
With that said, you might know a couple off the top of your...
Tyler Smith and the Cowboys appear to be on the same page.
FRISCO, Texas — In the final three games of the 2025 season, the Cowboys started All-Pro left guard Tyler Smith at left tackle. He replaced Nate Thomas, who had filled in the previous three weeks after Tyler Guyton suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 12 against the Eagles.
During those final three weeks, Smith made it clear he wanted to have a conversation with head coach Brian Schottenheimer on what...

There are a number of former Dallas Cowboys with platforms these days. From positions on national television to their own podcasts to the standard run through the media car wash… it isn’t hard to find someone who once wore a star-studded helmet in the mix.
These opinions are certainly valuable, to be clear. How franchise legends view the current state of the team is meaningful. They are the ones who last lifted it to the greatness that we all want to see it achieve once more. Not all of them obviously, but you get the point.
As important as it...
