The Dallas Cowboys are set to visit the Carolina Panthers on Sunday afternoon and are favored to win for the second week in a row. Should the Cowboys take care of business they will have put together their first winning streak of the season.
It is never that easy, though. Even when one team looks like the significantly better team in a game, random and crazy things happen. Things go chalk in certain instances, but you should never count on them happening.
This has served as the inspiration for our discussion post today. In doing our best to give as...

Coming off their scintillating tie with the Green Bay Packers, the Dallas Cowboys’ next game was going to be very telling. Were they the team that went toe-to-toe with one of the NFC’s best in the Packers? Or would they lay an egg playing a winless Jets team? The answer was the former as the Cowboys were dominant in their win over the Jets, even with all the injuries on offense.
The Cowboys offense continuing to roll wasn’t the biggest shock, after all, they had been very good this year. Still, all those injuries had fans worried, especially along the...

The Dallas Cowboys’ offensive unit has become the NFLs most complete unit through five weeks of the 2025 season.
With Dak Prescott ranking 4th in the league in passing yards per game (271.2), Javonte Williams averaging 5.7 yards per carry, and a balanced receiving corps led by CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and Jake Ferguson, the Cowboys have a statistical claim as the top offensive core in football.
Prescotts steady excellence anchors the Cowboys attack:

The Dallas Cowboys’ defense is bad. It’s a weird spot to be in, considering they were a top-five unit just a couple of years ago. In fact, they finished in the top seven in points allowed in all three of the years that Dan Quinn was the defensive coordinator. However, since Quinn’s departure, the Cowboys’ defense hasn’t been able to collect its bearings and has been a liability. Last season under Mike Zimmer, and through five games this season under Matt Eberflus, the Cowboys’ defense is in the bottom five in both points scored and yards allowed. That’s not ideal....

After a solid debut the week before against Green Bay, rookie linebacker Shemar James introduced himself to the world in the shadow of league headquarters in the Big Apple on Sunday.
The fifth round pick in last Aprils draft had 15 tackles against the Jets in Dallas 37-22 victory in New York. That is triple his numbers from the week before against the Packers.
Eight of his tackles were solo at that as James logged a total of 60 defensive snaps (73%) and another 14 (47%) on special teams.
Depending on Jack Sanborns concussion status, James could be seeing more...

The All-Pro special teamer will need more time before he returns.
It looks as though it will be one more week until it’s Turpin Time again for the Cowboys.
Wide receiver and return ace KaVontae Turpin was seen at Wednesday’s team practice, but he was working off to the side with trainers on resistance cords. He told reporters after the session that even though he’s out of the protective boot he had been wearing, he does not expect to play this...

Earlier this week I tweeted the odds (at that time) for MVP and there were several people who were unsatisfied with Dak Prescott’s place within them. At this time Prescott is +1700 at FanDuel Sportsbook (he was +2200 when I first tweeted about it so there has been some movement).
Prescott is playing at an unbelievable level and he should be included in those types of discussions, but it is also important to contextualize things for the Dallas Cowboys as a whole this season. We need to underscore that a big reason for everyone (seemingly) shining on offense is the...

Week 5 made things a little more interesting in the NFC East. The leading Eagles finally lost while Washington and Dallas both won on the road, tightening things up as we move deeper into the season.
We said last week that Philly didn’t feel like a 17-0 team. Well, they didn’t even make it to 5-0. Despite taking a 17-3 lead into the fourth quarter against the Broncos, the Eagles collapsed at home and allowed 18 unanswered points for the loss. With WR A.J. Brown’s reported frustration over the offense now, we’ll see if the defending champs can right the...

This week the Dallas Cowboys travel to a game against the Carolina Panthers, a game they are expected to win. Although Dallas is still on the mend from injuries, the team has shown that, led by Dak Prescott and his supporting cast, they can win with what they have. Wednesday’s injury report is a very long one so let’s go through some of it.
To open the week, the Cowboys have some of their starting offensive lineman back on the field. Tyler Smith (knee) and Tyler Guyton (concussion) were back at practice in a limited capacity. CeeDee Lamb (ankle) did...

The Dallas Cowboys traveled to face the New York Jets last week without wide receiver KaVontae Turpin as a part of the operation. They were successful in getting the win, but it looks like they will have to work that way again this week against the Carolina Panthers.
Turpin told members of the local media on Wednesday that he will probably not be playing this week at Carolina and that he is targeting a return in Week 7 at home against the Washington Commanders.
No one is assuming any game is a win, but obviously the Commanders are a more...

There may not be a better story for the 2025 Cowboys right now than running back Javonte Williams. While there are still plenty of chapters left to read, his hot start to the season already has him in rare company among the team’s historical list of free agent running backs. In fact, with a few more weeks at this current pace, Williams could soon be the best of all time.
To be fair, this isn’t exactly like adding a new head to Mt. Rushmore. When free agency really took off in 1993, Emmitt Smith was coming off a Super Bowl...

The Dallas Cowboys are coming off of a win for the second time this season and ultimately still in search of their first winning streak. Sunday against the Carolina Panthers presents the next opportunity.
There are no easy games in the NFL, but the Panthers present a game in which the Cowboys should take care of business. This was true for Dallas last week against the New York Jets, but we all can remember times in the past where it was also true and the team did not get it done for one reason or another.
Dak Prescott, Javonte Williams,...
