Coming off their scintillating tie with the Green Bay Packers, the Dallas Cowboys’ next game was going to be very telling. Were they the team that went toe-to-toe with one of the NFC’s best in the Packers? Or would they lay an egg playing a winless Jets team? The answer was the former as the Cowboys were dominant in their win over the Jets, even with all the injuries on offense.
The Cowboys offense continuing to roll wasn’t the biggest shock, after all, they had been very good this year. Still, all those injuries had fans worried, especially along the offensive line. Didn’t matter in the end, they put 37 points on the board.
But the defense showing signs of life was the big surprise. The pass rush was fierce and it got home. Five sacks plus numerous QB hits slowed down the Jets offense until garbage time. The secondary was also better in coverage as coordinator Matt Eberflus started calling some opportune man coverages with pressure schemes up front.
So after battling through the loss of Micah Parsons, the ongoing temporary loss of CeeDee Lamb, plus the reshuffling along the offensive line and the injuries to the secondary, the Cowboys are at .500 (2-2-1). They are still viable in 2025.
