The Dallas Cowboys came away with the win over the Washington Commanders and that is what matters more than anything. It feels like anything is possible when the team plays the way that they did on Sunday afternoon.
Something significant happened during the win that you may have missed. At one point in the first half, Brandon Aubrey kicked a 61-yard field goal. Because of course he did.
This was a significant field goal as it was Aubrey’s fifth field goal from beyond 60 yards throughout his career. It gives him the most among any player across all of NFL...

Brian Schottenheimer deserves credit for his patience. Matt Eberflus deserves credit for making changes.
The past seven days were tough in Dallas. Many in the fan base and the media (myself included) called for heads, namely that of Eberflus, to roll after yet another defensive meltdown cost the Cowboys their third loss of the year. Yet Schottenheimer insisted he wasn’t considering a change at defensive coordinator. He dug in and insisted Eberflus was a good coach who just needed time.
Clearly he knew something we didn’t.
Coming back home to host the Commanders offered a golden opportunity to reassert themselves...

The Dallas Cowboys finally return home and to face their NFL East division rival, the Washington Commanders. The Cowboys roster was looking healthier with players like CeeDee Lamb finally recovering from injury but was without Trevon Diggs. The game ended with Dallas playing a very compete game and putting up 44 points on offense, and looking much better on defense. Here’s what social media had to say.
Javonte Williams starts off strong trucking players and looking determined.
Dak Prescott makes a big throw downfield, targets George Pickens in the endzone and he draws the DPI flag.
Williams punches it in...

In a game that felt like the Dallas Cowboys season could ride on, they played the most complete game of the season on both sides.
Yes, I was more impressed with this win than the Jets for many reasons. The main one being the Jets do not have a win, and the offense has been awful.
Nonetheless, the game this afternoon started exactly like we thought it would.
The offense took the ball first and scored a touchdown on five plays, but after the defense got only their second opening drive stop of the season, the Commanders punt pinned them...

The Cowboys won the toss and went a bit bold by choosing to receive. I suppose when your offense is the best in the NFL and your defense is, um, not the best in the NFL… that decision makes sense.
Dak Prescott and his friends picked up where they have left off just about every game this season. CeeDee Lamb was the recipient of his first pass and it was great to see him back in action.
A handful of plays in Dak went deep to George Pickens and while the pass fell incomplete there was pass interference called against...

The Cowboys desperately need a win today over their NFC East rivals, the Commanders.

The Cowboys are gearing up for their clash with the Commanders, getting back to the comfort of their own home after two straight road games saw them go 1-1. We knew there were several big names coming back from injury for this one, but with the inactives list now released, those players’ returns are now official.
Let’s start with the good news. CeeDee Lamb is officially back, which is sure to provide a huge boost to an offense that’s been lighting up the scoreboard even in his absence. Also coming back to the offense are KaVontae Turpin and Tyler Booker....

The Dallas Cowboys are coming off a disappointing performance last week against the Carolina Panthers, one that’s reignited the discourse on defense and ratcheted it up to 11. However, they have to pull things together this week as they host the Washington Commanders, where a win would place them in second place in the NFC East.
Right now, Dallas is a slight favorite, by just 1.5 points. That’s largely due to two receivers’ injury statuses: CeeDee Lamb is making his return, while Terry McLaurin will be out for the Commanders. Is that really enough to swing things in the Cowboys’...

The Dallas Cowboys enter today’s matchup against the Washington Commanders sitting at a crossroads in their 2025 season. With a 2-3-1 record, the Cowboys are walking the tightrope between contention and collapse.
A victory would lift them into second place in the NFC East with a 3-3-1 record, right behind the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles. A loss, however, would drop them to 2-4-1 and put them squarely on the fringe of the playoff picture.
The season is still relatively young, but time is running short with one of the toughest remaining schedules in the league.
Losing to a Washington team...
Inside The Star
The viability of the 2025 Dallas Cowboys being a team in playoff contention is on the line as the team plays a late afternoon kickoff from AT&T Stadium for the first time in week seven. The Cowboys will stay in either this timeslot or primetime for the following seven weeks after this Commanders game, and it will take a complete team effort to avoid going into this stretch at 2-4-1. If it feels like things have already reached a fever pitch with how much national and local coverage has gone into stating the obvious about how bad the Cowboys defense...
