Dan Quinn’s “Tell the Truth Monday”
Dan Quinn spoke to the media for “Tell the Truth Monday”. The Washington Commanders dominated the Chicago Bears for most of the game, but had trouble punching the ball into the end zone, settling for three first half field goals. They allowed the Bears to take their first lead, and got the ball back with only 19 seconds on the clock.
Jayden Daniels was dealing with a rib injury, but had led the team to this point, and had one last drive left in him for the night. He got the team to the...
Just three weeks ago, I was lauding Dan Quinn’s game management on this site. Several weeks of bold - and analytically justified - in-game decisions were a significant part of Washington’s eventual four-game win streak.
But the season’s not over, not by a longshot, and Quinn’s still under the microscope, and will be for the foreseeable future.
The game against the Bears was frustrating for a variety of reasons, most notably because of Washington’s inability to score touchdowns in the red zone and put Chicago away before the end of the first half. Washington was clearly the better team yesterday,...

The Washington Commanders stunned the Chicago Bears, 18-15, on Sunday after Daniels lofted a 52-yard Hail Mary that sent the stadium into a pandemonium. The Commanders’ sideline rushed to midfield, the crowd roared, and Daniels, in obvious discomfort after taking several hits to his already injured rib, suddenly appeared painless as he screamed and flexed in celebration.
Daniels...
The banged-up Commanders, who were playing without rookie left tackle Brandon Coleman, lost Cornelious Lucas during the game, and had their rookie signal caller dealing with a rib injury, marched the ball up and down the field against a good Chicago defense all game long, amassing 481 total yards of offense. The issue - they could not find the endzone until the game’s final play.
Washington had a touchdown dropped by tight end Zach Ertz as he went to the ground in the endzone, and had one called back on a very questionable illegal man downfield call against Sam Cosmi...
Road favorites
The Washington Commanders had Jayden Daniels wrapping his ribs every time he went to the sidelines, and he still threw for 300+ yards and led the team to a Hail Mary victory with no time left on the clock over the Chicago Bears. Washington is now 6-2 and remain one of the top teams in the NFC. They still hold first place in the NFC East, with the Eagles a half game back.
The Commanders open up the week as 3.5-point favorites against the New York Giants. Washington is still one of the hottest teams in the NFL,...

Well, that’s incredibly annoying.
Much to the Eagles’ chagrin, the Commanders got one with Jayden Daniels heaving up a Hail Mary touchdown to Noah Brown.
Pretty annoying for multiple reasons!
It took a hail mary for Washington to defeat Chicago, but a win is a win!
Miracles happen, and every Washington Commanders fan watching the game live witnessed one of the rarest finishes to a football game! Washington moved to 6-2 off of a successful hail mary, largely due to Jayden Daniels, who found a way to buy six seconds before launching a throw to a waiting Noah Brown in the endzone. It wasn’t all pretty, though. The Commanders' offense struggled to finish drives, and it nearly cost the team as the defense, which was outstanding for most of the...

That kid did it
The Washington Commanders were in control of the their game vs the Chicago Bears until the 4th quarter when then fell behind with under a minute to go. Washington got the ball back with less than a minute left and moved down the field to get in striking distance for one last shot at the endzone. Jayden Daniels got over 12 seconds to create some time for his receivers, and he launched the ball to the goal line. It was tipped up, not by Zach Ertz as it was planned, but by Bears CB Tyrique Stevenson...
Dan Quinn speaks to the media after the win over the Bears
The Washington Commanders pulled a victory out of the jaws of defeat in a game that they dominated for three quarters. Jayden Daniels got the start despite barely practicing this week due to a rib injury. Washington’s offense was efficient until it got to the redzone, and they were up 9-0 instead of the 21-0 they could have been. The game came down to the final play after Chicago came back to take the lead when Caleb Williams finally woke up. Jayden Daniels tossed the ball up for...
