Dan Quinn speaks to the media before practice
There weren’t a lot of surprises in the college football world from Week 9. Oregon rolled past Illinois to remain atop the rankings. Boise State, a favorite to make the College Football Playoff from the Group of Five, won a close game against UNLV despite running back Ashton Jeanty rushing for a paltry 128 yards. Alabama bounced back in a big way by blanking Missouri. Vanderbilt was at it again, giving a fifth-ranked Texas team all it could handle. Unlike Alabama, Texas did just enough to escape Nashville with a win. In a game that could determine who plays for...

Breaking down the best performance of Newton’s rookie season so far.
[T]he coaching staff recognized his quickness is his main threat right now and put him in positions to best use that quickness effectively.
This was one of the final defensive plays of the game, but it’s a great example of how the coaching staff helped Newton make the most out of...

Poll questions!!

This week we have three questions in the Reacts survey.
Our first question this week is the one we ask every week — Do you feel confident in the direction of the franchise? We will track the results of this question throughout the season. For the past five weeks, it has been at 98% or...
Washington continues to rise
The Washington Commanders went into their home game with some uncertainty, at least outside the building, about whether Jayden Daniels was playing after suffering a rib injury the previous week. He started the game and played until well past the final second to deliver a miraculous Hail Mary to retake the lead, and seal the victory.
This was billed as the game between the top two picks in this year’s draft, and the two favorites for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Jayden Daniels might have locked that award up with that throw, and he gained...

Breaking down Jayden Daniels’ performance in the Commanders dramatic victory over the Bears.
Jayden Daniels...spent the week building up to the game dealing with a rib injury suffered on the opening play of the Panthers game a week ago. His game status was uncertain until pre-game warm ups, when he was confirmed as the starter. While the offense struggled to finish drives,...

Giants struggle, then fumble away opportunity. New York’s offense mustered a combined 10 points in its last two games, and through three quarters, the Giants had scored nine points via three field goals. They’d gained 222 yards entering the fourth, but were just 3 for 8 on third down and hadn’t threatened to reach the end zone since their second drive of...
No prizes; just bragging rights
If you’d like to get in on the fun of picking this week’s winners in the NFL without having to risk any money or win any prizes, I’ve got the contest for you.
This is actually two contests:
You can participate in either, both, or neither.
Well, no one will have to listen to Chicago Bears fans complain about Caleb Williams not getting the Rookie of the Week award for his game against the Commanders because Williams isn’t one of the nominees this week.
The winning quarterback of that game, Jayden Daniels, is nominated, however, and you can vote for him.
Despite facing a week-long battle to overcome a rib injury suffered on the first play of last week’s game against the Panthers that obviously caused him discomfort at times during Sunday’s home game against the Bears, Daniels put up another incredible performance this week.
The...
