NFC battle on Thursday Night Football!
Week 9 of the 2024/25 season kicks off with an AFC battle between the Houston Texans and the New York Jets. CJ Stroud and the Texans are sitting at the top of the AFC South and are in a three-way tie with the Bills and Steelers for the second-best record in the conference. The Jets got the most primetime games when the NFL schedule was released, and they have been a complete mess, and that’s with a healthy Aaron Rodgers this year.
Matchup: Houston Texans (6-2) vs New York Jets (2-6)
Date/Time: Thursday, Oct....
Well, no one will have to listen to Chicago Bears fans complain about Caleb Williams not getting the Rookie of the Week award for his game against the Commanders because Williams isn’t one of the nominees this week.
The winning quarterback of that game, Jayden Daniels, is nominated, however, and you can vote for him.
Despite facing a week-long battle to overcome a rib injury suffered on the first play of last week’s game against the Panthers that obviously caused him discomfort at times during Sunday’s home game against the Bears, Daniels put up another...
Washington’s coordinators talk to the media before practice
Kliff Kingsbury was first up before today’s Washington Commanders practice. He said TEs coach David Raih has been a part of five Hail Mary’s but Jayden Daniels’ Hail Mary was his second as a coach. Kingsbury said former Packers/Cardinals QB coach Tom Clements and Raih installed the Hail Mary in Arizona like it was a normal play, and he thought, “This shit never works”. They were a part of three in Green Bay with Aaron Rodgers, and then Kyler Murray completed one to DeAndre Hopkins when he was the head coach of...

The Washington Commanders’ rookie defensive tackle dropped quarterback Caleb Williams for an obvious sack in Sunday’s Hail Mary win over the Chicago Bears. Only, the play initially counted as a tackle for loss. Cool, but the second-round pick wanted that first career sack. “I couldn’t even think of an explanation for it,” he said.

He attacks both on the ground and through the air
To be honest, I’m not sure whether it was Jayden Daniels passing or his running that got him the award. Probably both. However, here is a summary of his accomplishments against the Bears on Sunday.
It had been miserable in DC during football season for a long time. A really long time. If we’re being honest, about three decades, punctuated by very brief interludes of joy: Joe Gibbs’ return, RG3’s magical rookie season. Otherwise, it was essentially a master class in how to mentally traumatize a fanbase, orchestrated by a pathetic, insecure, tyrant of a man.
But Dan Snyder’s gone now, and he’s been gone for over a year, and the football landscape is healing. An energetic new owner hired one of the best rising minds in the general management pipeline, and that GM hired...
Injury updates
The Washington Commanders enter their Week 9 matchup against the New York Giants with several players dealing with injuries. Cornelius Lucas suffered an ankle injury vs the Bears and didn't return to the game. He sits this practice out, and will hope to return vs the Giants on Sunday. The only other player who didn’t practice was Zach Ertz who got his weekly vet rest day.
Jayden Daniels practiced today, but it was a very light practice/walkthrough. Brandon Coleman suffered a concussion vs the Panthers and didn’t play against the Bears Sunday. With Lucas dealing with an ankle...
