The Washington Commanders brought in several players for tryouts last week, including veteran OT George Fant. The visit went well, and the two sides reportedly stayed in contact. Fant has now reportedly agreed to terms on a free agent deal. Fant(6’5”, 315 lbs, 33 yo) has been in the NFL since the Seattle Seahawks signed him as an UDFA after the 2016 NFL draft. Eliminating the quarterback rush attempts, the Commanders averaged six yards per carry on 24 rush attempts. The Washington Commanders lost to the Cincinnati Bengals 31-17 at home on Monday Night Football. Head coach Dan Quinn and QB Jayden Daniels spoke to the media after he game. Quinn like the intensity and tackling better this week, than in Week 1’s 48-18 loss to the Patriots. He singled out TE John Bates and Deebo Samuel for bringing the energy early in the game. The Washington Commanders have reportedly been shopping former third-round pick RB Brian Robinson Jr. around for a trade. He’s entering the final year of his contract and Washington is looking to try to get something for him, instead of possibly releasing him outright. The Commanders would save $3.4 million with a trade/cut, and aren’t likely to get much, if anything, in return. Jacory “Bill” Croskey-Merritt was drafted in the 7th round this year, and has quickly impressed the coaching staff.
