Against the [Bengals], Lane led the team with three catches for 42 yards and played a lot more snaps. Interestingly, the Commanders played him a lot more on the outside, perhaps as a challenge to see if he could step up there with Noah Brown still injured. So how did he get on? Let’s take a closer look.
While the Commanders run game dominated on the opening drive. Lane immediately caught the eye on the second drive.
On this play, Lane aligns outside to...

The Washington Commanders brought in several players for tryouts last week, including veteran OT George Fant. The visit went well, and the two sides reportedly stayed in contact. Fant has now reportedly agreed to terms on a free agent deal. Fant(6’5”, 315 lbs, 33 yo) has been in the NFL since the Seattle Seahawks signed him as an UDFA after the 2016 NFL draft. He joins an offensive line that continues to upgrade to protect second-year franchise QB Jayden Daniels. Laremy Tunsil is the LT after Washington traded for him, and they also drafted Josh Conerly Jr in the 1st...
After a dreadful showing last week in Foxboro, where Washington sat 30 players, Dan Quinn came out with a pseudo “starting lineup” at home against the Bengals, and the Commanders, for two series, looked the part.
Then the backups came in…
Regardless of the score, it was important for some key guys to get in some live action in this contest and for the most part, they didn’t disappoint. However, with Sam Hartman and Josh Johnson under center, with third and fourth stringers along the offensive line, things got a bit sloppy on offense.
Defense was pretty much the same....

With trade speculation mounting, running back Brian Robinson Jr. did not play in the Washington Commanders’ preseason loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night, likely a sign that the team is looking to move on from him, either via trade or a release if it cannot find a trading partner.
Washington ranked third in average rushing yards per game last season — a marked turnaround after its almost run-less offense under Eric Bieniemy the year prior, when the...
The Washington Commanders finished their Monday night game against the Cincinnati Bengals, rushing for 185 yards on 30 attempts. Eliminating the quarterback rush attempts, the Commanders averaged six yards per carry on 24 rush attempts. It was an excellent night on the ground for Washington, and their performance comes at a perfect time following the news earlier in the day that their 2024 starting running back, Brian Robinson Jr., was on the trade block and would not play in the game on Monday. The Commanders clearly want more out of the position, and leading up to the game, felt they...

The Washington Commanders lost to the Cincinnati Bengals 31-17 at home on Monday Night Football. Head coach Dan Quinn and QB Jayden Daniels spoke to the media after he game. Quinn like the intensity and tackling better this week, than in Week 1’s 48-18 loss to the Patriots. He singled out TE John Bates and Deebo Samuel for bringing the energy early in the game. Jayden Daniels only played one, four-plsy series that ended with him running in between several defenders for the touchdown. He was quickly pulled from the game after that, but he did retrieve Bill Croskey-Merritt’s first...
The Washington Commanders have a lot of primetime games this season, including one in the preseason! Tonight’s Monday Night Football game features Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals coming to Northwest Stadium to face Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders. This will be the second time that the two former LSU QBs have played against each other in the NFL — the first being Jayden’s “coming out party” on MNF in Week 3 of the ‘24 season — but they are expected to only see a few series before letting the backups take over. Washington is expected to play their...

The Washington Commanders have reportedly been shopping former third-round pick RB Brian Robinson Jr. around for a trade. He’s entering the final year of his contract and Washington is looking to try to get something for him, instead of possibly releasing him outright. The Commanders would save $3.4 million with a trade/cut, and aren’t likely to get much, if anything, in return. Jacory “Bill” Croskey-Merritt was drafted in the 7th round this year, and has quickly impressed the coaching staff. Washington also has Austin Ekeler, Jeremy McNichols, and Chris Rodriguez Jr returning from last season.
Mike Garafolo reports that Robinson...

The starting offense needs to get real game reps together, especially with WR Terry McLaurin coming back, and the injuries on the offensive line. McLaurin obviously won’t be playing Monday night, but the rest of the team gets to gel before he returns. This is also our first look at the Daniels and Deebo Samuel connection, which has been strong all of training camp.
Not everyone will be out there, though,...
