I’m not going to claim to be the only one who has given this some thought regarding this year’s Indianapolis Colts.
While the offense has hummed to the tune of not having punted through two games, we do still have more FGs than TDs. Personally, I think we would show a better rate, but four plays in the end zone that could have been called PI, went as incompletions that killed drives. On the other hand, if you are not given your opponents as much as possible to think about from week to week, you are not maximizing your offense....
The Indianapolis Colts announced on Tuesday the promotion of linebacker Austin Ajiake from their practice squad and the subsequent signing of center Jimmy Morrissey to replace him therein.
Having signed with the Colts back in 2023, Ajiake has remained within the Indianapolis organization. He was released as part of initial 53-man roster cuts this past offseason, but was a priority signing among practice squad members. He’s already appeared in 1 game for the Colts so far this year (against the Miami Dolphins in Week 1), recording 2 tackles (1 solo).
Meanwhile Morrissey was a 2021 7th round pick of the...
According to the NFL official transaction wire, the Indianapolis Colts worked out a wealth of cornerbacks on Monday, including Isaiah Bolden, Tre Flowers, Keenan Garber, Daequan Hardy, Kennan Isaac, and Nik Needham.
The Colts also worked out center Jimmy Morrissey.
Among the biggest names on the list are Isaiah Bolden, Nik Needham, and former Colts defensive back Tre Flowers.
Originally a 2023 7th round pick of the New England Patriots, the 6’2”, 205 pound Bolden had 10 tackles (7 solo) and a fumble recovery in 10 games last season. He was released ahead of initial 53-man roster cuts this offseason....
We can sit here and dissect all we want, and it is certainly entertaining, but in the end all that matters is that the Colts are 2-0, and for the first time in over 15 years. I consider myself an optimistic person, and I was not expecting a start like this at all. Even more so when taking into account the opponents faced. Sure, the Dolphins are not as good as I expected them to be, with things unraveling fast down in Miami, but the Broncos are a darn good football team, and the Colts beat...
2-0 for the first time since 2009, and the Colts continue with their surprises. Andrew Luck could not do it in his entire career, and Daniel Jones has managed to do it in his first season in blue. I was not optimistic at all about the outlook for this year, but after just two games, I am ready to get hurt again.
In case you did not hear the announcers try and jinx Shrader, he is still perfect in his NFL career. He missed a 60-yarder wide right before...
Woah, nelly!
The Colts-Broncos game scored at least an 8/10 on the thrill meter as the back and forth affair ended in dramatic fashion. The Indianapolis Colts lost on a 60-yard miss from rookie Spencer Shrader only to be resurrected and given new life on a personal foul call that gave them 15-yards and an untimed down to win it all. What was heartbreak and an opportunity lost merely 60 seconds earlier, turned into pure jubilation as fans watched the ball sail through the uprights and Blue pelvic thrust his way to victory. In all the excitement, it is easy...
Indianapolis, IN — As pandemonium ensued following the initially missed game-winning kick off the foot of kicker Spencer Shrader, Shane Steichen sighed loud enough for the nosebleeds to hear it. The third-year head coach had just led his offense down the field, trailing by two points amidst a 2-minute drill, and elected to passively chew clock behind the legs of star running back Jonathan Taylor to get into field goal range.
After getting an all-time break in the form of an untimely leveraging infraction by the Broncos’ interior defensive line on their block attempt, Spencer Shrader would remain perfect in...
The Indianapolis Colts started the NFL season at home gaining wins against the Dolphins and Broncos. Not only is it their first road game, it also marks the first divisional opponent in the Tennessee Titans. The Titans are a team the Colts know well, but with a new rookie quarterback in first overall pick Cam Ward, they will certainly have a different look. FanDuel Sportsbook sees the Colts with the current advantage with a -3.5 point spread.
The opening money line sits at -166 with the over/under coming in at 42.5.
The Colts and Broncos had a seesaw affair with...
It was a controversial, yet electric finish at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday as Indianapolis Colts kicker Spencer Shrader was gifted a second opportunity to deliver a game-winning field goal from 45-yards out to defeat the Denver Broncos 29-28 in walk-off fashion. The Colts are out the gate to their first 2-0 start since their last Super Bowl appearance in 2009 and made history in the process, becoming the first team in NFL history to score on each of their first 10 possessions to begin a season.
The Colts (2-0) caught some monumental luck when the 42-yard try from Broncos...
With new starter Daniel Jones behind center, the Indianapolis Colts so far look like a different team to begin the 2025 with a bit more swagger to their step than in more recent seasons.
Call that the ‘Danny Dimes’ effect?
Barely besting the Denver Broncos, 29-28, with a game-winning 45-yard field goal in the closing seconds, the Colts can finally say something that the franchise hasn’t been able to say since they made their most recent Super Bowl appearance way back in 2009: they’re 2-0 again.
Sure, it wasn’t the sexiest performance, even though the Colts didn’t punt the ball...
The Indianapolis Colts are at home to take on the Denver Broncos in week 2 of the 2025 season, kickoff is at 4:05 p.m. EST.
Whew. Week one was one for the record books. Daniel Jones led the Colts offense to seven straight scoring drives, the first time that’s happened for an NFL team since the mid-1970’s. Jones played a clean game and distributed the ball well to his playmakers. Last week I said this about rookie tight end Tyler Warren:
I’m excited to watch Tyler Warren in real game action. Also, don’t expect the world from Warren, at...
