Lou Anarumo confirms starting safeties going forward

One experiment is over.

It would appear that the Cincinnati Bengals are going with somewhat of a youth movement in the defensive backfield.

After coming back to Cincinnati, strong safety Vonn Bell has lost his job to second year safety Jordan Battle. As the Bengals look to the season being about roster evaluation, Battle is going to get a chance to record more tape.

Geno Stone will keep his starting spot too, per defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo.

Returns on the Stone signing have not been great this season, but Anarumo is not prepared to make a move at free safety....

7 defensive coordinator candidates for the Bengals to consider

Some names you know and others you might not.

It should surprise no one that Lou Anarumo is still this team’s defensive coordinator. Al Golden left for Notre Dame a few seasons ago, and Robert Livingston is now working with Coach Prime in Colorado. Firing Anarumo in the middle of the season doesn’t make the Bengals any better.

Still, it looks as though that day is coming. For all of the epic game plans that the magician has concocted, this unit just isn’t getting any better. Week in and week out, it is the same mistakes. Poor tackling and missed...

Bengals vs Steelers breakdown, “Hard Knocks” look and Cowboys Sneak-Peek

John and Anthony return to discuss the devastating loss to the Steelers at home, as well as the behind-the-scenes look at things, thanks to “Hard Knocks”. The duo also looks ahead to the Monday Night clash against the Cowboys.

The Cincinnati Bengals suffered yet another inexplicable, devastating loss. Once again, the Pittsburgh Steelers came into their house and showed them AFC North football.

Chronicling last week’s clash was HBO’s “Hard Knocks”, who was traversing the midseason results of the AFC North. It brought an interesting perspective on things, showing the preparation and approach from each team.

Bengals place Evan McPherson on IR, sign Cade York and Andrew Stueber

York is going on the practice squad but will be the Bengals’ primary kicker.

The Cincinnati Bengals have signed kicker Cade York to the practice squad and placed Evan McPherson on injured reserve, the team announced Wednesday.

In addition, the Bengals signed offensive tackle Andrew Stueber off the practice squad to the 53-man roster.

York, weighing in at 6-foot-1 and 198 pounds, is a second-year player out of LSU who was originally a fourth-round draft pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2022. He played in all 17 games as a rookie for the Browns and converted 24/32 field-goal attempts along...

Bengals lose Evan McPherson to injury and sign Cade York

It’s been a disastrous season for Money Mac.

The Cincinnati Bengals are making a change at kicker, though it’s not due to the struggles of Evan McPherson this season.

Instead, it’s due to a groin injury that will sideline McPherson for several weeks, according to Mike Garafolo.

In addition, Garafolo reports that Cincinnati is adding former Cleveland Browns and Washington Commanders kicker Cade York to the practice squad.

Thankfully, Garafolo makes it sound like McPherson’s injury isn’t serious. But with the season winding down and just five games remaining, the Bengals should be cautious about bringing McPherson back too soon....

Pick your poison: Mike Brown or Jerry Jones?

Pick your poison: Mike Brown or Jerry Jones?

What would you do?

Imagine this: Just before kickoff on Monday Night Football, as the Cincinnati Bengals face the Dallas Cowboys on the road, a portal opens in front of you. Time stops. Out steps a wizard who offers you a deal: an owner swap.

The Bengals' owner would become Jerry Jones, and the Cowboys’ owner would become Mike Brown. The teams’ histories would remain unchanged, but the new owners would run their franchises in their own ways.

What would you say?

Each comes with their own set of problems, and some of those problems stem from similar places.

Bengals set new NFL record for most games scoring 33+ points in a loss

Bengals set new NFL record for most games scoring 33+ points in a loss

Cincinnati’s defense is now making history in the worst possible ways

The 2024 season will go down as one of the most disappointing seasons in recent history, as the Cincinnati Bengals now hold a 4-8 record.

On one side of the football, Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase have been some of the best players in all of the NFL, but on the other side of the football, the Bengals defense has been historically bad.

The Bengals defense has been so bad that the team has now lost four games after scoring more than 33 points.

That is a new NFL...

Did TJ Watt intentionally twist Joe Burrow’s ankle?

Did TJ Watt intentionally twist Joe Burrow’s ankle?

You take a look and tell us what you think.

If Sunday’s game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers was your first between the hated rivals, first of all, welcome to the sh*t show. Secondly, that was one of the tamer showdowns between the two teams.

You see, the Bengals and Steelers don’t like each other very much, and both have accused the other of playing dirty at times. There wasn’t anything obvious in this game, but upon a second viewing of TJ Watt’s strip-sack and tackle of Joe Burrow, it appears as if the edge rusher intentionally...

Trenton Irwin gives interesting goodbye on Instagram

Hmmm.

The Cincinnati Bengals waived wide receiver Trenton Irwin to make way for linebacker Shaka Heyward on Monday. Later, Irwin took to Instagram to say goodbye to the city, but he ended his goodbye with a little twist.

“Mann the end of a beautiful chapter. Met so many wonderful people in this beautiful city. Fought for what I stand for and learned to be me through it all for me.”

So far, so good.

Then he added:

“When people no longer see you the way you see yourself, it’s a clear sign that it’s time to go. Excited to create...

The Lou Anarumo era should be over

The Lou Anarumo era should be over

The defense has been historically bad in 2024

The Cincinnati Bengals season has been one of the most painful ones to watch in my 25-year lifetime.

Expectations and excitement going into each season in the Joe Burrow era are at an all-time high, and the Bengals have shocked everyone with a 4-8 record.

The season has been a tale of two stories, though, with the offensive and defensive performances.

One side of the football has been one of the best in the NFL, and the other side has been one of the worst, if not the worst.

Lou Anarumo and...

If you could fire Zac Taylor or Duke Tobin, who would you choose?

Both should be firmly on the hot seat.

It’s been a dark season in Cincinnati, as the Bengals have arguably been the most disappointing team of the 2024 NFL season.

Heck, you could make an argument for the Bengals being among the most disappointing teams in any sport in 2024. That’s how bad this season has been, and there needs to be some serious soul-searching within the organization for 2025 and beyond.

Could that entail a new head coach or general manager being put into place?

While doubtful, there’s no question that Zac Taylor and Duke Tobin both deserve to...
