Bears complete interview with Bills OC Joe Brady

Bears complete interview with Bills OC Joe Brady

Joe Brady is the 14th confirmed candidate the Bears have interviewed

Just hours after announcing their interview with Todd Monken, the Chicago Bears announced that they completed an interview with Joe Brady Friday.

Brady is currently serving as the offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills. Brady is the 14th candidate to interview with the Bears.

Like Monken, this was the window for Brady to interview, with game-planning for the Bills’ Sunday showdown with the Ravens likely finished.

Joe Brady has a history with Bears QB Caleb Williams, as the two have known each other since Williams was in a camp...

Bears complete interview with Todd Monken

Another head coaching candidate interview is confirmed.

The Chicago Bears completed an interview with Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken Friday.

Monken is one of the over a dozen head coaching candidates the team plans on interviewing or has already interviewed.

This is inside of the window for teams active in the NFL Divisional round. It makes sense as Baltimore plays the Buffalo Bills on Sunday and game planning for the game is largely done at this point.

Monken, 58, is in his second season as the offensive coordinator for the Ravens. Their offense has Lamar Jackson playing the best...

Tennessee Titans hire Mike Borgonzi as GM, Ian Cunningham remains with Chicago Bears

Tennessee Titans hire Mike Borgonzi as GM, Ian Cunningham remains with Chicago Bears

The Titans choose Borgonzi, which means Cunningham will remain with the Bears.

Ian Cunningham will remain with the Chicago Bears for the 2025 season.

Cunningham has received multiple interviews for general manager positions over the last few years, but he has yet to be hired into a general manager role.

This year, Cunningham interviewed for the Tennessee Titans General Manager position and was one of their six finalists for the position.

Today, the Titans announced their hire, and it was not Ian Cunningham.

The Titans have hired Kansas City Chiefs Assistant General Manager Mike Borgonzi, so unless another opportunity opens...

Schefter: ‘Why is everybody ignoring Chicago when it comes to Ben Johnson?’

Schefter: ‘Why is everybody ignoring Chicago when it comes to Ben Johnson?’

ESPN’s NFL insider wasn’t quick to jump to the Ben Johnson-to-Vegas conclusions that have swirled around recently.

Though there seems to be momentum behind Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson becoming the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, ESPN’s Adam Schefter isn’t so quick to assume.

In an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show on Friday, Schefter stated that he isn’t in the camp of “anointing” Johnson as the new head coach in Las Vegas. Specifically, he mentioned the Chicago Bears as a team that’s still a realistic option for the highly-touted offensive play-caller.

“Why is everybody ignoring Chicago...

Bears Coaching Search Roundtable: Who is your number two choice?

Bears Coaching Search Roundtable: Who is your number two choice?

I recently asked my WCG and 2nd City Gridiron teammates four questions about the Chicago Bears’ ongoing head coaching search.

Yesterday’s question was the obvious one: Who is the one candidate that you’d be 100% pleased with the Bears hiring?

It's no surprise we all mentioned Ben Johnson, but with things trending toward Johnson and the Las Vegas Raiders, today’s topic was our number two choice.

Bill Zimmerman: I think my number two guy is Todd Monken. Monken has a strong upside and checks a lot of boxes. He’s an offensive guy, has been around a great organization, has had...

Open Thread Question of the Day: Is the Bears’ Head Coach Search Too Extensive?

Open Thread Question of the Day: Is the Bears’ Head Coach Search Too Extensive?

Critiqued by many, the Chicago Bears list of potential head coach candidates continues to grow. When is enough, enough?

Good franchises get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to personnel decisions, coaching hires, etc.

The Chicago Bears are not (currently) a good franchise. Thus, we should not expect for them to get the benefit of the doubt with any such decisions.

As of this writing, the Bears have already met with 12 candidates for their Head Coaching Job, with 2 more on the schedule for this weekend and another 5 or so yet to be scheduled.

Have they...

Coaching Carousel Rumors and Notes: Is there any chance left for Ben Johnson?

Coaching Carousel Rumors and Notes: Is there any chance left for Ben Johnson?

Here’s some rumors and thoughts on the Bears coaching search

Chicago Bears fans have been hungry for anything they can sink their teeth into, so I’ve been trying to find out what I can about the Bears’ search and other teams. Let’s dive into what I’ve heard. (Feel free to call me a fraud in the comments, too. It always warms the heart.)

Ben Johnson. Let’s not bury the lede. I don’t think things look good for Johnson to come to Chicago. When the Patriots were headed down the path to Mike Vrabel and the Jacksonville Jaguars decided to keep...

Chicago Bears Sackwatch: 2024 Year in Review and Historical Perspective

Chicago Bears Sackwatch: 2024 Year in Review and Historical Perspective

I wanted to take a look at some of the Chicago Bears' year-end sacks allowed numbers and compare them to other times in team history. Some of the data I use will be from my own personal Sackwatch breakdowns, while others will be standard statistics pulled from Pro Football Reference.

This was the busiest Sackwatch year I’ve done, and I appreciate everyone who checks in each week as I look for the “whys” on each play.

In 2024, the Bears led the league by taking 68 sacks and by being sacked on 10.7% of passes. That first number is the...

Bears Coaching Search Roundtable: Who is your number one guy?

I asked my WCG and 2nd City Gridiron teammates four questions about the Chicago Bears’ ongoing head coaching search, and we’ll share the responses in the coming days.

The first question was the obvious one: Who is the one candidate that you’d be 100% pleased with the Bears hiring?

Our answer is nearly unanimous, but the recent buzz around Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson to the Las Vegas Raiders could leave our crew disappointed.

Bill Zimmerman: It’s Ben Johnson, but I don’t think the expectation should be that the Bears land him at this point. I think there’s more...

Caleb Williams: ‘Selfishly, I want an offensive-minded guy’ as Bears’ next head coach

Caleb Williams: ‘Selfishly, I want an offensive-minded guy’ as Bears’ next head coach

And there’s one particular coach Williams appears to have his heart set on.

If Ryan Poles was watching Caleb Williams’ podcast interview with the St. Brown “Podcast,” he’ll know exactly what his young QB wants for his next head coach.

Suffice it to say Williams is looking for the anti-Matt Eberflus.

But not only in wanting a “strong-minded leader of men” as his next boss, though that would obviously be a much-needed change of pace.

The former No. 1 pick clearly wants a coach who knows how to speak the language of offensive football.

“Selfishly, I want an offensive-minded guy...
