It’s late December and the Chicago Bears are playoff-bound.
With two games remaining, there is still all-important seeding to play for. The Bears have a (remote) chance at the No. 1 seed and no matter how remote, we know coach Ben Johnson is going to go for it.
The San Francisco 49ers have the No. 1 seed and a possible division title to play for.
A lot of teams talk about “playoff atmosphere” in December and I think this game will fit the bill. It should be good experience for a young Bears team to go on the road and...

Sunday Night Football is getting a gem this week as the 11-win Chicago Bears and the 11-win San Fransicso 49ers meet up with playoff seeding scenarios on the line.
The Bears just dropped the injury report for the game, and they only list two players as out: wide receiver Rome Odunze and cornerback Nick McCloud. Neither player practiced at all this week, with Odunze still resting the stress fracture in his foot and McCloud away sick.
The illness bug also caught linebacker D’Marco Jackson, wideout/returner Devin Duvernay, and cornerbacks Nahshon Wright and Josh Blackwell. Jackson and Duvernay were full participants...

The NFL season is an evolving state of affairs, and week 17 finds your Chicago Bears firmly atop the NFC North and as the #2 seed in the NFC with an 11-4 record after yet another come-from-behind victory, their 6th this season, against the Green Bay Packers. This week, Chicago travels to the Bay Area for a Sunday Night matchup against the 11-4 San Francisco 49ers to keep their hopes of a chance at the NFC’s 1 seed alive.
In this weekly series, I’ll be featuring one player from each team on each side of the ball who I believe...

The Chicago Bears are officially in the playoffs for the first time since 2020. As it currently stands, they are in line to host their first home playoff game since 2018. Furthermore, they are one game out from getting a first-round bye since 2010.
The only thing that we know is that the Bears are in. With two games left to play, the Bears could slide anywhere from 1st to 7th seed – an indication of how strong the NFC is this season.
Seriously, take a look at the NFC. It is strong from top to bottom.

The Chicago Bears didn’t allow a single sack against the Green Bay Packers, which is the third time this year they have kept Caleb Williams from being sacked. So, with nothing to do this week on Sackwatch, I had to find something else to do, and I landed on a breakdown of the fourth-down touchdown pass to Jahdae Walker.
Caleb’s game-winner to DJ Moore has received the bulk of kudos all week, but if that play was an A++, then the Williams to Walker pass was an A+.
The Packers were showing eight threats, while the Bears were only pass-blocking...

Every NFL season is wild for so many reasons.
There is always something surprising, teams or players that come out of nowhere to have a great season, no one saw coming. And teams many expect to be fantastic but end up disappointing.
The other great thing about the NFL season is its condensed nature, which elevates each game, but the season lasts long enough that portions of it seem so far from others.
For example, it wasn’t that long ago that analysts and fans were wondering who the really good teams were in the league. And now, it seems like...

Bears’ Wednesday injury report: Latest on Rome Odunze, Luther Burden – USA Today Bears Wire
Wide receiver Rome Odunze, who’s missed the last two games, did not practice as he nurses his foot injury. The good news is rookie receiver Luther Burden III (ankle) returned to practice in limited fashion.

Without checking, this might be the latest in the season I’ve done my first mock Bears offseason. It’s been for good reason, too: they’ve clinched a playoff spot with two games left to go in the 2025 regular season, and they’re 1.5 games ahead in first place in the NFC North.
It’s been a fantastic breakout season for the Bears in Ben Johnson’s first year as their head coach. They’ve gotten hot in two separate stretches, as they have both four-game and five-game winning streaks to their name so far this season. At 11-4, they’ve exceeded expectations and have restored...
