The Chicago Bears will be one of six-to-eight teams that will be hiring a new head coaching and coaching staff in the coming weeks. Here’s what to expect during the new NFL-mandated process.
After a strong (4-2) start to the season, the Chicago Bears quickly devolved from potential contender to Top 10 pick after finishing 2024 on an 11-game losing streak. Offensive coordinator Shane Waldron was fired after an embarrassing 19-3 loss in Week 10 to the lowly New England Patriots. Three games later, following a disastrous final two minutes on Thanksgiving morning against the Detroit Lions, head coach Matt...
For the fifth time in 13 years, the Chicago Bears will be on the prowl for a new head coach. Instead of giving you the usual head coaching rankings, here are my three tiers for what the Bears should be looking for.
With the conclusion of Week 18 in the rearview mirror, the Chicago Bears will be one of six to eight expected teams to change gears into a full-fledged head coaching search. With the NFL’s new guidelines on interview timelines, the days of hiring head coaches over a week span are long gone. That allows teams like Chicago to...
We now know who and where the Chicago Bears will play in 2025.
Just like a year ago, the Chicago Bears finished the 2024 season in last place in the NFC North, and with all the relevant regular season games concluded, we now know the full slate of opponents they’ll face next season.
As always, the Bears will play the three teams in their division, both home and away, and for 2025, they’re set to face the NFC East and the AFC North, and the last place portion of their schedule will be against the last place teams in the...

Los Angeles Chargers at [**Las...
The Bears improve to 5-12 close out the regular season.
The Bears ended their 2024-25 season on a high note, upsetting the Packers 24-22 in their first win against Green Bay since 2018.
Chicago ends the year at 5-12 after their nailbiter at Lambeau Field. The victory ended their 10-game losing streak in a win over their biggest rival. I’m posting this live from the bleachers of Green Bay, so here are my abbreviated thoughts from the game.
Special teams shines
Chicago’s special teams unit dominated on Sunday, playing a major role in their lead for a majority of the...
It finally worked!
Earlier today, the Chicago Bears pulled off a play they first tried over twenty-three years ago against the Green Bay Packers. Way back then, the special teams coordinator was Dave Toub, and the misdirection punt return featured Devin Hester with the deke, Johnny Knox with the return, and Corey Graham with the phantom flag that negated the play.
This time, there was no bogus penalty to erase John Blackwell’s 94-yard punt return. Kudos to special teams coach Richard Hightower for dialing up the play and to DJ Moore for the good acting job on his fake catch....
Final week of the season. Will these Bears ride off with a win at Lambeau Field for the first time since 2015? Or will they add to their historic losing streak?
The NFL season is an evolving state of affairs. So much can and does change from week to week. Teams, schemes, rivalry games and injuries all factor into performances on any given Sunday.
In this weekly series, I’ll be featuring one player from each team on each side of the ball who I figure to be integral to their respective teams’ success. You won’t see any QBs as they...
One last time, dear friends.
Good morning, Bears fans.
We get one more chance to watch this Chicago Bears team put a merciful end to this season before we spend the next eight months pining for the preseason.
Of course, as Sam so succinctly put it, the nightmare season would have to end against the nightmare opponent known as the Green Bay Packers.
As this is your Open Thread for today’s game, Les advises that it is rated WCG-MA, but having rung in the new year, I’ll advise you to Open Thread Responsibly (TM).
And as always, for one final...
Dan Durkin takes a deep dive into the three-year tenure of Ryan Poles to determine if the franchise truly benefitted from his time on task or if the mistakes are too glaring to gloss over. Here, in part three, he examines his 2024 moves and speculates on what’s next for Poles and the Bears.
For the second straight year, the Chicago Bears found themselves at the center of the NFL universe. Flush with the fourth-most cap space and the top overall pick for the second-straight year, 2024 was shaping up as Ryan Poles’ year to plant his flag. The 2023...
Here’s all you need to know about the Bears vs. Packers game!
The Chicago Bears have one last game before the offseason gets underway, and they could add a small slice of goodwill to our fans with a win over the Green Bay Packers. They could also snap the lengthy 2024 losing streak, get their first win north of the border since 2015, ding the Packers on their way to wildcard weekend, and, most importantly, give the current roster a taste of victory against their Bears’ biggest rival.
And by current roster, I mean the entire 53-man roster because there...

We have your SB Nation Reacts results right here.
All it took was ten straight losses for our fans to hit a season-low in confidence in our Chicago Bears, but with the (11-5) Green Bay Packers waiting on Sunday, it might drop even lower. Our partners at FanDuel Sportsbook have the Packers favored by 10.5 points, and even though they have a playoff spot locked up, they’ve already announced they plan to play their starters.
Week 18 could get ugly in Lambeau for the Bears.
Beating Chicago won’t ensure a move up to the sixth seed to avoid the second-seeded...
